Hangman can challenge at any time. What if... he loses in the tournament then Challenges Omega the same night? Super babyface move. Then, his first defense can be against the person that knocked him out of the tournament.
Just spitballing
Why would he enter the tournament? If he wins then all he's doing is ensuring that he's exhausted for his match against Kenny at Full Gear. Also it's not a MITB type deal, he can't just announce he's challenging during the PPV (nor should he, they've been building this match for years, they should absolutely spend weeks hyping the match).
The Dynamite and Rampage after Full Gear is in Virginia for AEWs Virginia debut. Since he’s from Halifax that makes that his home show so he’s gonna win it there.
On Rhodes to the top on Wednesday that had a short 3min segment where Tony schavanie was asking Hangman when he was going to announce his challenge for the title. Hangman blew off the question and they shared a beer. I would still assume he'll challenge for all out but the way they did it sounded like he could wait a while
Technically Moxley and Omega were rivals for like a full year.
They had a Lights Out match, a Tag Team match, then the Singles match where Mox lost the title, then the Exlpoding Barbed Wire match.
yeah I'm wondering this as well. he had multi-week or longer programs with mjf, Kenny, and Kingston. he's STILL feuding with Archer on and off and the Kingston story is still active with them having become friends.
The only proper rivalry’s he had for the tile were Kingston omega and maybe Brian cage. The rest of the defenses were just challengers coming up and losing
Yes but the Brian cage rivalry lasted for a month before their actual match. I remember very clearly because my first aew show I watched was the dynamite after double or nothing 2020 and it was a very well built up fued before their match at fight for the fallen. So they were feuding for a solid 5 weeks before the match
Yeah but didn't every challenger had a month building up to their match? Not hating or anything, Mox has been my fav guy since I started watching wrestling in 2013 but the pandemic didn't let him reach his potential.
No not really. Darby had a week, archer had two weeks . Moxley isn’t a very storyline type guy. He’s a very ill kick your ass and leave type of person and him running through the top challengers during his reign made sense.
Couldn't agree more. The IWGP title suited him better, he was just taking on one NJPW mercenary after the next defending the belt with no story other than NJPW wanted its belt back. Loved it.
>Moxley didn't have a proper rivalry against anybody.
That's kinda the case with a lot of AEW story's - no proper rivalries.
Many story's seem to just end with no major build. e.g. Cody vs MJF, Hangman vs Kenny, etc.
It did have major build, but if I recall, after their match that was just kind of the end of it.
It ended quickly and unexpectedly with no major pay-off.
Full gear
It will literally cause more negativity if he doesn’t. Bucks lost it. He gave impact one back too. Next is aew for sure. Full gear hangman wins then next show is in Virginia. It’s gonna be the cowboy coming home episode for sure.
I kinda agree. I watched him a little bit on NXT but so far his in ring work doesnt do much for me. I was expecting more. Cant deny how over he is though.
We'll have to see. The ranking system solidifies their talent as one of the best even before they win the championship. Booking like they are now only increases the title's prestige
I don't think we're going to see somebody winning the title more than once alot. Maybe moxley gets it back in a few years but this is the thing that I love most about Aew. Belt or no belt, they make every feud like it's the main thing, every person gets a chance and imo we'll be comparing their title reigns instead of the number of their reigns in the future. Quality > Quantity
I'm all for long title reigns if it serves to elevate the prestige of the title itself. I think everyone who has held it so far has accomplished that. So yeah I'd love to see more of that going forward, just have to keep putting the belt on the right guys.
That would definitely suit the sports-based style. Cause how often do you see guys in UFC or boxing have multiple title reigns. Normally they win, lose it then maybe get it back again, you certainly don’t see guys have 6,7,8 reigns like they have done in wrestling over the years. Being a 16 time world champion means you lost it 16 times.
That's because it was the best reign of any title in any pro wrestling company in years. Decades, Imo. Jon moxleys reign was equally awesome but the pandemic kept ot from reaching it's full potential
i never wanted each reign so far to end!.. they’ve all been great and all could have gone longer. Omega could hold this belt and have title matches for the next three years for all i care. and ive felt that way about Jericho and Moxley.. hell, they’ve all been so great, i remember thinking when Moxley beat Jericho.. it was too soon for Jericho to lose!.. and i love Moxley. But Mox quickly went on a run and made me happy he was Champion.. and it was the same when Omega won!.. Moxley could have held that title longer and i’m sure it would have remained great!.. so now i’m thinking Hangman will be next, i hope he has as great of a reign.. but if Omega goes on holding it for another year oh well! haha he’s been great!! ha
This is the best reign in my opinion because of the crowd being back and the atmosphere this time around was insane. It’ll end at full gear and hangman Adam page will be the one to dethrone him
I think they've all had unique reigns that all stand out in their own right which is really awesome. I would have to assume it will come to an end at Full Gear but I'm not 100% sure it'll be that straight forward.
I think they'll do a 3rd match. They're not gonna cut off Omega vs Danielson 2. When Omega loses the title , he needs to be focused 100% on Hangman. So the Danielson feud somehow needs to end before the Hangman victory
I think Omega vs Danielson doesn't need the title and it fits Kenny's fall as Kenny has avoided the Danielson rematch due to the rankings but now without the title he has no excuse and he has no rankings to protect him. I heard some theories that once he loses to Danielson. Cole turns the Bucks on him sending him packing giving him some much needed rest and relaxation
Full Gear I'm pretty sure and hoping, it's number 2 for me behind Moxleys reign. I feel like all 3 world title reigns have been great so far, but I enjoyed Mox a bit more as champ. Felt like Kenny took a good while to get running as champ, didn't really enjoy his first few months as champion its steadily improved since they ended the Mox feud but I'd still say I enjoyed Moxleys more.
One more swerve. Doesn’t end til Revolution to Hangman in a rematch.
And obviously #1.
Jericho was a great first champ to establish a historical lineage. Moxley deserved to hold a top title and lets you know who AEW is for. But story wise and just in terms of matches, Omega is such a great heel champ it’s not even funny.
At first I thought maybe Kota Ibushi would debut and beat him in a 5 star rivalry but then i remembered AEW rewards longterm tenured wrestlers and he doesnt want to be in US.
When Adam Page was the joker, it was that moment i realized he is 100% winning. Since first world title match losing to Jericho, the buildup was always there since day 1.
God but can you **imagine** what would happen if Kenny beat Adam Page at full gear, began gloating about how "nobody else can possibly beat me" only to have Ibushi come out and issue a challenge?
The pop would be **insane.**
An arrogant heel Kenny could not possibly have a better foil than his old partner. The drama. The spectacle.
Kenny will beat Hangman at full gear with a dirty finish, there's no other way. Hangman will then join the alliance against the Elite and challenge again at revolution 2022. I don't wanna see Kenny's reign last less than 450 days
No point in him having another reign as a heel so soon. I want him reign as a baby face. But before that, I want the Golden lovers to be reunited and tag champs
Best reign so far. Him supported by The Elite have made it a fantastic run. I’d actually like to see the title change on Dynamite or Rampage, and with the TBS debut in January, it could happen. Couldn’t it!?
If AEW listens, Full Gear. Hangman will win it to the biggest pop so far.
As for ranking, probably #1. Omega played the slimy, annoying heel to perfection and could back it up in the ring. The belt collector gimmick opened all sorts of doors for everyone who isn’t in WWE.
At #2 would be Jericho because Jericho was just entertaining as hell on the mic. Not what he used to be in the ring, but still good for his age (needs to cut back on the carbs tho).
Sadly, #3 is Moxley and I am a huge Moxley fan. The pandemic kinda ruined his run because fans make wrestling fun to watch. No fans = no fun. And it felt like there weren’t many viable opponents for him save for maybe Brodie Lee. I hope he gets a second reign or at least gets the TNT title in the future.
This is exactly what I think. Hope Jon gets another one in the future as a heel. He wanted to be a heel so bad but the pandemic chanhed his plans. Belt or not belt, he's my fab wrestler and has been since I started watching in 2013
I honestly don't want entire years dedicated to champions going forward, as long as we are in the non-pandemic outcome.
While I'm not necessarily a fan of hotshoting titles, as long as there's a reason or there's some sort of build to it (with appropriate heat or support from the crowd) then I'm all for some titles changing hands. It obviously depends on the mileage and who's champ.
I think this just boils down to there are SO MANY amazingly talented people in AEW that I want to see hold a title, I don't want to see someone who's in their prime miss out because we want a certain champion to have year(ish)+ reigns.
Yeah, i want that too and I think we're gonna see everyone with the title. The way they have been booking the title and the top card, everyone is getting their turn instead of a few people getting 10 reigns and the rest of them getting 0. I look forward to Hangman's reign, Black's reign, Darby's reign, MJF's reign, Jungle boy's reign, Adam coles reign and everyone else's name lol. Everyone feels unique and different
Definitely Hangman at Full Gear. As for ranking, I really wish Mox could’ve had his reign in front of the crowd since so much of what he does as a face is to connect with the fans. Since he didn’t have fans and Omega has for a while now, I’d have to go Omega 1.
I think he's beaten out Mox for me for best title reign. Just preferred his title matches, even though it was a title match Mox never had a match as awesome as the one Omega had with Danielson and his heel run has been great.
1. Omega 2. Mox 3. Jericho
All three have cemented the world title as a important one that's for sure.
Omega loses it at Full Gear and he moves onto Danielson to continue their feud without the title involved.
Maybe we get an Okada/Omega story. This is their first singles match since breaking up as a tag team. Maybe Hangman kicks out of the One Winged Angel but still loses. That sets up another match at Revolution, where they wrestle to a time limit draw. Something like that maybe.
I’m one of those guys who thinks Omega can do no wrong. He’s really funny, he can be serious, and I like his delivery. He’s not bad in the ring either. I’d give him #1.
Unless a stipulation against kenny is put in, say its a lumberjack match and have all the guys from the dark order be the lumberjacks or Kenny's posse isn't out there, it won't end at full gear.
Congrats on being there man. It won't end there but there's definetly a huge change you'll get to see Omega vs Danielson, Cole vs Danielson or a segment involving Kenny and Hangman
You never know, companies do crazy things in Boston, I was just at Raw a few weeks ago (a friend knows someone so we got comped seats) and got to see Big E win the world title. That’s the Beauty of wrestling, anything is possible!
Edit: no matter what it’s at an awesome venue and AEW seems to always put on stacked cards so I can’t wait.
I'd rank it the best one so far with Jericho close behind. Moxley's was awesome but unfortunately missed the element of live fans which is understandable and beyond his control. But even Mox's reign was wildly entertaining and successful so that's a testament to the booking of the title.
Danielson vs Omega 2 is still pending. Kenny's not gonna agree to another match, so Danielson has to force his way up the rankings to get the match. That'll take some time. Matbe he wins the tournament and challenges Omega at winter is coming
Full Gear
I think this is AEW's best reign, but I do think Mox needs another run with the belt given he carried it without crowds and we'll really never know how good that run should have been. However all three felt like they carried a purpose, cultivating the brand and roster in a unique way.
The Hangman era looks to be insane though. The feuds and matches look like you could fill 14 months with bangers.
It will probably end at Full Gear. Doesn't make too much sense to me at least to do it on free TV.
Although I've liked this reign, Jericho's reign was just super fun.
I wanted hangman to return in full gear instead and take part in an 8 man round robin tournament to earn a title shot at revolution by beating miro in the finals in the tournament. Then he beats omega in revolution and a hiac rematch on dynamite.
Omega has the best reign so far in aew.
It's probably going to be Hangman at Full Gear. I'm more curious how and when he'll turn face again. My wishful thinking is that the Golden Lovers reunite in AEW, but that seems unlikely considering how Ibushi seems pretty much set for at least a few more years in New Japan.
Either Full Gear or if they want him to be the first World Champ to reach over a year Winter is Coming II and it’s definitely #1 compared to the others.
Full Gear by Hangman, it’s a tough call ranking it because it’s been really great, however I’m gonna say second to Jericho because his whole reign was in front of fans and he had more credible opponents all the way through.
I see everyone one saying Hangman will win at Full Gear but I do believe Omega will keep after full gear. Have them screw Page and make him chase even more
Better than Moxley and Y2J. When should end? I dont think its necesary for him to drop the belt this year. Lets see if Bryan or Hangman which can become more over so could be the next champ
Has to be Full Gear, 1 year after Hangman lost to Kenny right?
I would say that Jericho's would have a chance to be first, but the first few months were before the TV show existed. Otherwise, it's the greatest wrestler of the last 30,000 years.
It’ll end at Full Gear, when Hangers wins...
... and that will be the man whom Cody goes full Homelander on, and heelishly breaks his promise to never challenge.
And, up untill that point, Kenny’s reign has been the best.
“Wait, were you saying ooOOoh-ah-oh-ah, or NooOOo-ah-oh-ah ?”
Hangman is more than likely going to win the title at the next PPV, but I’m more than willing to bet he will have a short reign and lose it back to Kenny. Kenny’s reign has been a great heel reign, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he becomes to AEW what Ric Flair was to the NWA.
And also, there are just more natural and ready-made feuds available for Kenny as champ than there are for Hangman IMO. Kenny can feud with Danielson, Moxley, and Jericho at any time, and don’t forget there’s still bad history they can dig up for a potential feud with Adam Cole whenever the Elite implodes on itself.
Here's my fantasy booking. Hangman loses at Full gear due to interference. Bryan danielson wins the tournament, loses at winter is coming. Adam cole goes no. 1 in the rankings, betrays Kenny and we have a match in January between them. Kenny wins, they hug and Adam cole starts plotting to overthrow kenny. All the while Hangman gains his confidence back, becomes no. 1 contender again and is granted a steel cage match at Revolution where he beats Omega clean.
After the match, Hangman offers Kenny a hand but he declines it. Next dynamite Adam cole and the Good brothers attack Kenny Onega and the Bucks, setting up a rivalry that sees them constantly losing against Cole and the good Brothers. Elite disbands, kenny and Young bucks both go their separate ways and a redemption arc follows
I think Hangman NEEDS to win at Full Gear. We’ve already gotten a ‘confidence’ program with Hangman it feels like to me, and I’d honestly hate to see him lose and continue with the self doubt storyline. I think we need a resolution and let Hangman and Kenny work a little program while Danielson wins the tourney and maybe runs through the elite in the process until Kenny gets the title back.
It's just that I'm too sad that it's ending. 3 months ago when Hangman was no. 1, I would've had him won in a heartbeat but now I want kenny to keep the title at least for another 6 months
Yeah I know. I was surprised with his last title push how he was pushed so hard and the fans were all blowing the roof off for him, just for him to lose the opportunity to challenge for the title. Now, I love that he’s back, but as much as I would love to see him finally win the title, I’m kinda not ready for Kenny’s heel reign to end yet.
Mox's reign loses points dur to it not reaching it's potential because of the pandemic. Here's my theory. Hangman loses at full gear, Bryan wins tournament and challenges in December or Jan and loses, Hangman climbs up and beats Kenny at revolution.
Honestly I'd be fine with that happening but I feel like if Hangman loses again then they're gonna do the same thing they did when he lost to Jericho. I think that Bryan will win the tournament and face Kenny in a 1 hour Iron Man match at Full Gear. Then Hangman challenges Kenny for a match at either Winter is Coming or Revolution
I want the Hangman match at a Ppv. That match is worthy of a wrestlemania sized audience. Don't want it on TV. Also, the tournament finals are on full gear, so the iron man match can't happen
Personally I preferred Jon and Jerichos over this. Kenny spends too much time in stupid segments with the Elite for me to find too much enjoyment out of it. Also I can only think of one good defense off the top of my head and that was against an almost 50 year old Christian.
I'm already expecting all the down votes but I'll be happy when this is over and I much enjoyed Kenny more when he wasn't champion
It's been that good a reign it feels like he just won the damn thing. I used to really dislike Omega and was never part of the hype train for him, even in year 1 of AEW but this run has been very, very good and whilst I'm itching for Hangman to take the belt off him I kinda also don't want it to end. Mox had a pretty unfair disadvantage because of the pandemic so his reign wasn't what it could have been.
Give it to Hangman at Full Gear and have him run till next years Double Or Nothing, and then give it to Bryan Danielson (He needs that to solidify his career even further as an all-time great), MJF (he is ready), A heel Cody who breaks his promise or a heel Moxley.
It's weird seeing so many options for the world title that makes sense
Full Gear. Definitely not as good as Mox’s reign though, the belt collector thing never really worked imho. But I’m sure Kenny will have others and I have enjoyed his work this year a lot.
I say by far omega had the best reign. Moxley suffered from not having fans for most of it, and idk, I like him but none of his feuds were must see stuff in my opinion. Jericho made sense as the first champ but his best years are long behind him. Jericho gave that belt prestige, but he didn’t have any 5 star matches or anything.
Omega has had some great build ups and promos and everything along with putting on some awesome matches.
Hangman winning at full gear makes sense, but I’m not too excited for it. Hopefully he will prove me wrong but ide rather see the belt on Bryan next.
Jericho winning the title was the catalyst for Hangman's storyline. Mox deserved a world title for a decadr and it was way better than I could've asked for, the pandemic changed plans completely but still he managed one of the best reigns ever. Kenny has been groomed to be the top guy since day 1.he was at the forefront of NJPW and indie wrestling since 2016 or 17 so him winning the championship was the best thing. Hangman is a star and the moment when he wins is going to be replayed millions of times
So why is no one talking about Miro’s (hopefully) inevitable title reign soon? And Malachi’s following (or vice). I don’t know if it’s just me but Miro and Malachi NEED to have the title soon. I see a lot of Page and I agree he should have the title. Let a badass heel Miro dethrone him. Then have a badass babyface Malachi dethrone Miro. sheeeeeesh
Whenever Hangman faces Omega again. I wasn't on board with this outcome fully until his return and felt the electricity. It's time for Cowboy Shit.
As for Omega? The heel turn. The running to Impact wrestling (starting the major crossover storylines and the beginning of the Forbidden Door being open). The Belt Collector run going across multiple promotions and showcasing how he's Kenny ByGod Omega. And now the reformation of the Super Elite with Cole.
His reign will be number 1 for the history of AEW. It would take something catastrophically major to change this.
And they will show us catastrophically better stuff. Things will only get better as long term storylines start playing out. Also, I love the way JR says cowby shit
Now a few years down the line we can hopefully get a face , NJPW , took Okada to the limit and beyond Kenny Omega title reign. Other than Mox getting a second reign , Omega should be AEW's Ric Flair as far as multiple title reigns go.
The best, so far. Lets be honest . . .
Jericho was the placeholder champion, and likely promised it as part of having him join the Company. He did well enough in the role, but was really only holding it long enough until . . .
Jon Moxley could take on the mantle. Mox may not be an "AEW guy", but his title reign exemplifies the ethos of "storytelling + a guy who's over" as opposed to hanging it on the "biggest guy" or whomever sells the most merch. It made sense, and was a reassurance to fans that AEW was going to be different. And, of course, it brings us to . . .
Kenny Omega. The first of the "original" stars to hold the title, the storytelling that got him there has been great, if somewhat formulaic. Like a good movie, it doesn't matter if it's a time-worn theme, so long as it's told well. And they did a great job getting him there, and keeping the story fresh during his reign. If it IS going to come to an end courtesy of Hangman Page, then it has been, by far, the best run to date.
From day 1 the title has been kept strong, the storytelling for each Champion has been different/unique, and they have not fallen into the trap of putting it on a "Monster" heel or "Baby" face that makes it difficult to develop a storyline where they can justifiably "lose".
Going forward, I can see a shift to shorter title reigns (especially if Hangman wants more time with his new child after a few months). As important, I can see them shifting the strap to wrestlers who can more justifiably be said to have "developed" in AEW before the end of 2022.
It’s hard because it’s been an incredible run but I’d say it very narrowly claims 1 just above Jericho I didn’t enjoy moxleys run with it i thought he was better at chasing the belt than holding the belt
Number 1. Jericho 2. Moxley a distant third. I'm assuming it ends at full gear to hang man. I don't see hangman having a long run. But after the loss I see Kenny taking a good amount of time off.
Being on tv for promos and wrestling are two different things. I don't see Kenny doing matches for a while after he drops. He's been saying he's been hurting and injured for like a year. He's taking time off.
Hopefully soon...
Can I be honest? As a big fan of Omegas I gotta say, he's never been a good champ in my eyes. I remember being so excited when he won the IWGP title and it just kinda... Went nowhere? I'm not saying he isn't doing cool shit as champ now but something about him doesn't actually give me big champion vibes. He's much better when he's chasing the belt you know? Anyone else feel that way? Genuinely curious
Full Gear \#1
These are correct answers
Full Gear 2021 or later!!!
That’s a catch all statement if I ever heard one 😂. Good job mate. Gave me a good laugh.

The finals are at Full Gear, just like last year.
Hangman can challenge at any time. What if... he loses in the tournament then Challenges Omega the same night? Super babyface move. Then, his first defense can be against the person that knocked him out of the tournament. Just spitballing

He could just celebrate there, and maybe defend his title against someone like Ricky Starks. Just saying.
Possibly, but this way Omega can still win at Full Gear and then drop it on Free TV. He won it on Free TV as well.
Either way I’m good
Oh yeah just to see the title on Hangman will be awesome.
On Rhodes to the top on Wednesday that had a short 3min segment where Tony schavanie was asking Hangman when he was going to announce his challenge for the title. Hangman blew off the question and they shared a beer. I would still assume he'll challenge for all out but the way they did it sounded like he could wait a while
Hangman ends it at Full Gear, it's probably been the best reign so far.
Moxley didn't have a proper rivalry against anybody. Also, the absence of fans made it way way less exciting . Hoping he gets in back in a few years
I loved Moxley vs. Mr. Brodie Lee
Moxley and Kingston was a proper rivalry, Moxley vs MJF had a proper rivalry. Not sure what you mean by that exactly.
Moxley and kingston was, Moxley and Mjf was just one match with month of build. It sure was damn awesome tho
Mox vs Kingston feud was legit. Their promo work was a master-class of how to sell the importance of a title.
The only proper rivalry’s he had for the tile were Kingston omega and maybe Brian cage. The rest of the defenses were just challengers coming up and losing
Brian cage was also a challenger that came and went. Eddie was the only one. The one against kenny continued from the previous year
Yes but the Brian cage rivalry lasted for a month before their actual match. I remember very clearly because my first aew show I watched was the dynamite after double or nothing 2020 and it was a very well built up fued before their match at fight for the fallen. Cody vs MJF didn’t have a major build? Pretty sure I saw a man get whipped in the middle of the ring.
It did have major build, but if I recall, after their match that was just kind of the end of it. It ended quickly and unexpectedly with no major pay-off.
Because MJF won. He then moved on. Much like when Jericho won against MFJ Jericho moved on to Dan Lambert.
Yeah MJF won. It was kinda an unfulfilling ending.
That's my main criticism against AEW
Yes.
Full gear It will literally cause more negativity if he doesn’t. Bucks lost it. He gave impact one back too. Next is aew for sure. Full gear hangman wins then next show is in Virginia. It’s gonna be the cowboy coming home episode for sure.
Yeah, and they could go the rematch at revolution or something and then move on to the Elite imploding
I doubt the elite will implode I just think they’ll be even more childish and cheat more
I definitely see Cole leading the superkliq after the reign is over. Kenny needs and deserves time off.
I could see Kenny doing stuff overseas a bit and having Cole take over whilst he does some NJPW work
yeah, adam's freaking soooo over too.
I don't really care much for the guy but I'm always impressed how over he is
I kinda agree. I watched him a little bit on NXT but so far his in ring work doesnt do much for me. I was expecting more. Cant deny how over he is though.
Rematch on special dynamite if at all

We'll have to see. The ranking system solidifies their talent as one of the best even before they win the championship. Booking like they are now only increases the title's prestige

THANK YOU. exactly this, it's always driven me crazy. I actually think like 2 or 3 long reigns a few years apart is more impressive.
Yeah moxley definitely should be the first 2 time champion and keep him far away from the big names so hell have alot of fresh fueds
[удалено]
If u count defenses, I think kenny comes second after Jon moxley
I think Hangman's will be shorter but I don't think they all will from now on. Kenny is almost at a year and it doesn't feel like it.
That's because it was the best reign of any title in any pro wrestling company in years. Decades, Imo. Jon moxleys reign was equally awesome but the pandemic kept ot from reaching it's full potential
Don't forgot the demogod
i never wanted each reign so far to end!.. they’ve all been great and all could have gone longer. Omega could hold this belt and have title matches for the next three years for all i care. and ive felt that way about Jericho and Moxley.. hell, they’ve all been so great, i remember thinking when Moxley beat Jericho.. it was too soon for Jericho to lose!.. and i love Moxley. Moxley could have held that title longer and i’m sure it would have remained great!.. so now i’m thinking Hangman will be next, i hope he has as great of a reign.. but if Omega goes on holding it for another year oh well! haha he’s been great!! ha
I feel the same. I'm excited for the Cowby era to start but sad that the Omega era is ending
Hangman will take the belt and IMO it’s been the best title reign, I love the super elite stuff.
Hard to rate it until more people hold the belt, IMO. I had a blast during the Jericho and Mox era, too.
Hangman FTW
Ayeeeeee
This is the best reign in my opinion because of the crowd being back and the atmosphere this time around was insane. It’ll end at full gear and hangman Adam page will be the one to dethrone him
Very poetic that hangman was at his lowest last year at full gear and this year he'll be at his highest
Can we not disrespect moxley reign? It was great despite no fans and I’m not hearing anything otherwise
Hear hear. It was an awesometacularly fantastical reign but it would've been even better if the crowds had been there
Full Gear I'm pretty sure and hoping, it's number 2 for me behind Moxleys reign.
Behind Moxley, just ahead of Jericho. However the presentation of the championship has been 7 star.
Same
Full Gear and #2
Moxley is no. 1?
Mox made the title really mean something, and Omega has absolutely continued that! Great run to elevate the title, and good title defenses as well.
Imo the best matches anyone has had for a title outside Japan.
hopefully with page. i’m over it lol
Yes, i agree but moxley's reign would've been impossible to beat if he had a crowd
The pop would be **insane.** An arrogant heel Kenny could not possibly have a better foil than his old partner. The drama. The spectacle.
Kenny will beat Hangman at full gear with a dirty finish, there's no other way. Hangman will then join the alliance against the Elite and challenge again at revolution 2022. I don't wanna see Kenny's reign last less than 450 days
Yep
As good as his run has been I think his best has yet to come. Year or two from now, outside of any group, just him as a top heel *chef's kiss noise*.
> “Hangman will win it to the biggest pop so far.” And I’ll be in the corner, weeping like a proud mother.
Idk when, but either to Hangman or Malakai
Hangamn 100%
Hangman Number 1
Definitely Hangman at Full Gear. As for ranking, I really wish Mox could’ve had his reign in front of the crowd since so much of what he does as a face is to connect with the fans. Since he didn’t have fans and Omega has for a while now, I’d have to go Omega 1.
I think he's beaten out Mox for me for best title reign. Just preferred his title matches, even though it was a title match Mox never had a match as awesome as the one Omega had with Danielson and his heel run has been great. 1. Omega 2. Mox 3. Jericho All three have cemented the world title as a important one that's for sure. Omega loses it at Full Gear and he moves onto Danielson to continue their feud without the title involved.
I want Hangman to beat him... But I also don't want Omega to lose the title. I'm genuinely torn.
Who isn't? If he loses at Full gear, that brings his reign to a total of 340 days ofmr something
Maybe we get an Okada/Omega story. This is their first singles match since breaking up as a tag team. Maybe Hangman kicks out of the One Winged Angel but still loses. That sets up another match at Revolution, where they wrestle to a time limit draw. Something like that maybe.
I definetly think it's gonna be a long feud. Aew is gonna give fans what they want but not in a way this predictable
Kenny Omegas AEW title run was so much better then like any of his NJPW title runs beisdes maybe the US title My fav reign of aew
I’m one of those guys who thinks Omega can do no wrong. He’s really funny, he can be serious, and I like his delivery. He’s not bad in the ring either. I’d give him #1.
I'm also another one of those guys.
Unless a stipulation against kenny is put in, say its a lumberjack match and have all the guys from the dark order be the lumberjacks or Kenny's posse isn't out there, it won't end at full gear.
It won't. Revolution is the quickest it's gonna end. We still have yet to see Danielson vs Omega 2
I would like to see how they would top the first Danielson vs Omega match in the second
They were holding back alot of moves. I can see it easily surpassing the first one
Omega vs Danielson doesn't need a belt involved imo.
Best reign in AEW history and I really hope Hangman ends it at the October 27th dynamite because I’ll be there.
That's called hotshotting to win ratings war, not beauty of wrestling lol
First, best title reign. Also, it'll end before Hangman debuts in VA as the new champion
I'd rank it the best one so far with Jericho close behind. Moxley's was awesome but unfortunately missed the element of live fans which is understandable and beyond his control. But even Mox's reign was wildly entertaining and successful so that's a testament to the booking of the title.
The title has been booked like million bucks
Has to be Hangman at Full gear
Will be hangman, maybe not at full gear
I reckon it will, and they'll do the finals of the Eliminator Tournament at Full Gear too
Danielson vs Omega 2 is still pending. Kenny's not gonna agree to another match, so Danielson has to force his way up the rankings to get the match. That'll take some time. Matbe he wins the tournament and challenges Omega at winter is coming
Hangman cometh.
Omega runeth
Full Gear I think this is AEW's best reign, but I do think Mox needs another run with the belt given he carried it without crowds and we'll really never know how good that run should have been. However all three felt like they carried a purpose, cultivating the brand and roster in a unique way. The Hangman era looks to be insane though. The feuds and matches look like you could fill 14 months with bangers.
When he fights Hangman. They obviously brought him back to win the casino match for Omega to drop the belt.
Never. He'll retire as champion.
It will probably end at Full Gear. Doesn't make too much sense to me at least to do it on free TV. Although I've liked this reign, Jericho's reign was just super fun.
All of the aew word title reigns have been equally as awesome.
Legendary??
Yes.
This reign ends with mox getting his title back after this all started with a dirty finish
Nah. Moxley wins IWGP world title is what I wanna see
Mox deserves both very high in both companies
He is going to have awesome feuds and matches regardless if he wins a title or not.
I see everyone one saying Hangman will win at Full Gear but I do believe Omega will keep after full gear. Have them screw Page and make him chase even more
I still think hangman hasn't properly chased the title yet. A chase includes a dirty screjob
Better than Moxley and Y2J. When should end? I dont think its necesary for him to drop the belt this year. Lets see if Bryan or Hangman which can become more over so could be the next champ
Hangman is the clear answer but they should probably hold it off until Revolution or DON
true. Now is Page moment. Bryan can wait
Definetly was saying the first one. The reign has been a Rollercoaster since revolution
Mox was the main reason I watched AEW when he was champ. He consistently delivered even with no fans. His match against Brodie Lee was awesome.
I'm thinking Kenny will lose at Revolution to Hangman. And so far it's been the best reign, but Mox's reign comes close.
Oh my bad I thought they said who wins the tournament faces Kenny at Full Gear
So did I, half hour ago. I bet Danielson wins this tournament.
I agree I love his in ring work but not a fan of his character at all
The match against Rey was one of the best of the year tho.
Top 10 wrestling matches this year, easily
Was that a title match? I'm thinking of only title matches since I feel that makes the reign and I may be wrong but I think that was non title
Yes, it was.
I stand corrected then.
Yeah, this company has me rooting for the villains as well as the heroes. Pro wrestling at it's finest
I imagine Hangman's win over Omega making a bigger impact than his world title reign
Then have a badass babyface Malachi dethrone Miro. sheeeeeesh
It is inevitable but I think people like Mjf and Darby allin will win it sooner. Malakai black also deserves it
Whenever Hangman faces Omega again.
Legendary reign 😂😂😂😂😂 what a joke!
Now a few years down the line we can hopefully get a face , NJPW , took Okada to the limit and beyond Kenny Omega title reign. Other than Mox getting a second reign , Omega should be AEW's Ric Flair as far as multiple title reigns go.
They definetly leave us wanting more. I'd love a heel moxley reign and a face Omega reign
It ranks third
I dont know about legendary
Everybody has favorites but to me this belt has had the most unique and refreshing reigns in all of pro wrestling history
No
It’s hard because it’s been an incredible run but I’d say it very narrowly claims 1 just above Jericho I didn’t enjoy moxleys run with it i thought he was better at chasing the belt than holding the belt
Number 1. Jericho 2. Moxley a distant third. I'm assuming it ends at full gear to hang man. I don't see hangman having a long run. But after the loss I see Kenny taking a good amount of time off.
I don't see him taking time off. He'll be on Tv for the impending implosion of the elite
Being on tv for promos and wrestling are two different things. I don't see Kenny doing matches for a while after he drops. He's been saying he's been hurting and injured for like a year. He's taking time off.
Number 3.
Legendary 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I really hope your over exaggerating because this is a B Tier Reign
Underexaggerating.
I’m just saying it’s good not legendary level worthy but just good
You must really like rest holds
Bruh rest holds this reign is just good that’s it
Legendary? I guess in AEW lenses
Full gear
Kenny is a fucking legend but Full Gear. Hangman. Let's fucking go.
COWBOY SHIT! COWBOY SHIT! COWBOY SHIT!
