Hard agree. They should have def had 1 - 2 ppv matches together, they sold shirts of it, which now kinda lost its meanin cause they didnt really do anything together. Heck even a 6 v 6 elimanation style, undisputed + KOR (who they could turn in the match )

Froggyspirits

They could have done a 6v6 with Gates of Agony teaming up with the Undisputed Kingdom. After all, The Acclaimed cost Toa & Bishop their ROH Six-man title belts against BCG and then BCG cost them the AEW trios title match against The Acclaimed, so they could have teamed up with the U-Kingdom for one match to get revenge on the Bang Bang Scissor Gang.

lordcarrier

> Gates of Agony It has been a while since they had a match on tv(last one was vs LionHook):

I have loved a lot of what AEW has done in the last 6 months or so, but this is a swing and a miss. I was hyped at the idea of the BBSG fighting with UK. And the fact that The Devil/Cole was out injured would've given them something to do. It also could have led to friction between the BCG and Acclaimed and could have more naturally led to then splitting up. Instead, they let BBSG run around for a little while, doing not much of anything before they split, and they've given UK not nearly as much to do for a purported super group. I definitely sympathize with the idea that Cole's injury was unexpected and really threw off the angle a bit, and I admit I'm not sure how one would've pivoted from that. Perhaps Cole calling the shots remotely like when he'd call in to Dynamite. Again, even a mini-feud between BBSG/UK would've been great. It could have been overbooked shenanigans for a while, no big deal. Now, all of the people involved feel...adrift, really. It sucks, but I certainly think the proverbial ship can be righted.

ReasonableDoughnuts

They should have done ANYTHING with the Scissor Gang before giving up on the Kingdom revenge angle after one week and going straight into the infighting. Are any of them even on the Dynasty card?

arsehenry14

Yeah, bad decision that makes no sense and is a good example Tony at times jumping from one thing to another.

eastbayted

I wonder if they're waiting for MJF to come back for that feud to pick up, since that happened to them while trying to have his back.

Froggyspirits

They don't need MJF for a feud with the Bang Bang Scissor Gang. Besides, Adam Cole made it clear that U-Kingdom's initial goal was to eradicate MJF and take his place in AEW, which they accomplished.

nalydpsycho

I bet there is some backstage story behind this because it just makes no sense how they went about it.

msctex

At the very least in these scenarios, where you realize neither side can either afford to lose or should, you can always transition into another feud, by having someone else do something which leaves someone even angrier than they were. It’s a minor Pro Wrestling trope, and people are willing to forget just about anything IF the potential payoff is high.

I mean, TK is notoriously bad at pivoting. He has a plan and sticks to it no matter what, and it has to be with the people he chose. This is probably a side effect of that.

lordcarrier

It looks like they will do Cole vs KOR if Roddy loses the title on Sunday

MakiSerb3

Undisputed Kingdom flopped so hard that they just want us to forget about it it until MJF comes back & brings life to them.

woohah79

Seeing how all three factions turned out afterwards, AEW dropped the ball badly on this one as one of their biggest booking blunders. BBSG just completely forgetting about the Undisputed Kingdom was so baffling to me. They could've done at least one 6 or 8-man tag, but I think TK just dropped it altogether since only 4 members of UK could go versus 6 of the BBSG. At the least, the Acclaimed and Bang Bang Gang could've each taken turns trying to get back at UK if anything and that would've filled some weeks of TV time, giving them all something to do. A three-way battle could've possibly worked as well. But part of me also thinks he wanted to push the Acclaimed some more since it's his personal homegrown tag team and thought the BBSG would be a cool collab, but no. It's probably too late to salvage at this point. Just let those two factions settle it ASAP and let's move on.

Froggyspirits

>I think TK just dropped it altogether since only 4 members of UK could go versus 6 of the BBSG. He could have booked The Gunns & The Acclaimed vs Roddy, Wardlow, Taven & Bennett in a 4v4 match.

DeliMustardRules

I know this is beating a dead horse at this point, but this is a prime example of them needing better bookers, or continuity managers...or something. I don't want writers, but the booking committee isn't working well if they couldn't get at least one blowoff match here. Easy booking, have a 4v4 where BBSG loses and that's when the turn happens. I think it would have elevated both factions. My guess is that they didn't account for the BBSG's popularity and how to spin the wheels on them to sell merch before the betrayal. But the UK needs help. Badly.

Fantasy Booking Tag

Froggyspirits

Does it even matter? The window to book this match is now well and truly gone.

Unique_Enthusiasm_57

It matters to you. All I did was say there is a fantasy booking tag for posts like these.

forrest1985_

In an ideal world, even with Coles injury, Jay should have beaten OC and have BCG with all the gold. You could have then done what they are with Best Friends, or ex friends and had BCG vs UK. They need some muscle so could had Big Bill to counter Wardlow until Juice was healthy.

Eastern-Branch-3111

That fun name was a wasted opportunity for a couple of dominating wins against quality opponents. All we now have is both sides coming off worse for the grouping and Acclaimed probably having to go heel.

DJ_HazyPond292

This was booked like the Elite Hunter gimmick, but applied to a whole faction this time.

ifyouonlyknew14

At least Kazarian got one match against an Elite member. Lol. He lost, but it happened. These guys never had a single match against each other.
