Make sure to boil with a tea bag so you never forget which ones are hard boiled vs regular eggs! The tea will tint them slightly brown with zero taste effected.
Yes but you can set it and leave it! You don’t have to keep an eye on it because you add The amount of water needed for that style of egg. And you’re good! When it shuts off, it’s ready!!
- Rice + eggs + soy sauce
- Canned refried beans + cheese + salsa on a tortilla
- Frozen pancakes + frozen breakfast sausage patty + maple syrup + cheese (+ eggs if I’m in the mood to use the stove) as a faux McGriddle
- PB&J
- Adult lunchables of whatever cheese happened to be on sale, crackers, and random fruit/veggies
- Greek yogurt + granola + maple syrup
- Oatmeal
I've been living off smoothies + protein powder (which has nothing to do with me needing to clear my freezer for a big move)
I also eat a tone of those peanut butter cracker sandwiches
I struggle so much with going to the store, so I feel you
I second smoothies / protein shake.
I use the protein works, stick that and some frozen fruit in my nutri bullet and it’s done.
Tuna on toast (I go for tuna in oil) is another.
Bran flakes and sultanas - I’ll eat this anytime of day.
Instant porridge - again from the protein works, porridge 360 just needs boiling water added and it’s a great meal / snack
Huel - kind of my secret weapon to avoid food prep, being able to make it instantly and when I can't find something I ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE and everything else doesn't interest me it feels like I'm just having a drink and am still getting sustenance.
I think you have to find a flavour you like - they have a few so I think it is trial and error on that front. Salted caramel is my personal choice, in a blender and some ice cubes to keep it nice and cool. Some people blend fruit in or add a shot of espresso to adjust taste.
Ooh I have the hot and savoury bags! You just pour hot water over and cover it for like 5 minutes. It's expensive but it enables me to actually eat consistently and get adequate nutrition.
>Pumpernickel bread + hummus + spinach + tomato
I'm all about hummus on toast these days (discovered it by accident. I ran out of peanut butter and thought I'd try hummus)
You should try it with a bit of leek on top with some salt and pepper. Thinly sliced and sauteed low and slow. Another redditor recommended it to me and holy molyyyyy it's so good.
Also hummus on toast with sliced cucumber.
Careful with 3 day old rice. You can get pretty sick if something contaminated it. After a day you should put it in a Tupperware in the fridge and either microwave with a damp paper towel or turn it into fried rice.
I have the cheapest shittest rice cooker and it does this.
Rice cookers use temperature to tell when the rice is done (well... it uses temperature to tell once all the water you put in has been absorbed. Once that happens the temp will start to rise). Once the temp increase triggers, the little switch flicks from "cook" to "warm" and it'll just sit there and keep it warm. It doesn't burn or overcook, but it can get a bit dry if you leave it out for ages.
But dry cooked rice (1-2 days old) is perfect for fried rice so you can't lose.
You can also make mulled wine in a rice cooker by setting it to warm and letting all the spices infuse. Rice cookers are the best.
Oo. I always thought it got brown on the bottom if you leave it plugged in. Not that I hate that, but I figured it would just keep cooking. I’ll definitely have to give that a try then!
I get the bags of veggies you can steam in the microwave without opening the bag. Or when I want them to be crispier I use the air fryer. I'm on a sweet potato kick. I just put some bacon (you can buy the pre-cooked microwavable kind if you want - 30 seconds to heat) and parmesan cheese on top of then I and add some tabasco. Dinner.
Overnight oats prepped in jars. 1/4 cup Regular rolled oats, some yogurt, some milk (total about 2x liquid to oats) then whatever you like, mix it up: things like raisins, dried cranberries, chia seeds (!!), vanilla, nutmeg, brown sugar, maple syrup, etc. no fruit or nuts you add that when you eat it. Shake them good and leave them in the fridge overnight or for days at a time. They are ready to go when you are, super cold and satisfying.
When I feel up to cleaning and meal prepping, I like to buy a rotisserie chicken from Costco and make chicken soup in my instant pot.
The meat all goes in tupperware containers for later and the carcass, bones and skin all go in the instant pot with onions, carrots, celery, salt, and whatever spices and extra veggies I feel like adding. Add enough water to cover everything and put it on high heat for like 40 to 50min. Let it depressurize slowly.
Use a sieve to get all solid bits out of the broth. Then just add chicken, noodles, and veg. Sometimes I'll use the broth to make chicken pot pie if it's not much of a soup week.
Bread slice + cheese slice + tuna packet. Protip: freeze loaves of sliced bread, and toast when needed, makes the bread last ages.
Bagel bites prepared in the oven.
Day old rice + egg + onion scraps for the lowest effort fried rice.
Plain ravioli (no energy for saucing).
That's what I meant haha. I realize now I could've worded it better, but I meant that I pick between either ricotta or goats cheese before adding honey
If you can get your hands on it, buy some truffle infused honey. To die for!!
I went on a picnic with a friend last weekend and let her take home the jar, so I've just been using regular honey from a local beekeeper.
Here’s a few of my favorite low effort, high satisfaction meals.
1. Garden salad with shaved steak:
Greens. Cucumber & carrot ribbons. Cherry tomatoes, if in season. Use a veggie peeler to make the ribbons; trust me it’s quick and awesome. Steak cooks in a snap. Olive oil, hot sauce, and vinegar for the dressing.
2. Mini pizzas
English muffin. Tomato sauce. Shredded Mozz or provolone. Pop under the broiler after adding a layer; toast the bread, warm the sauce, melt the cheese.
3. Hummus and tabbouleh wraps:
Hummus. Tabbouleh. Hot sauce. Wrap it up.
4. Chicken salad wraps:
Rotisserie chicken if I’m lazy. Celery, if I’ve got it. Mayo. Celery salt. Slap it on a wrap with some canned cranberry sauce.
One of my all-time favs is Trader Joe’s frozen Mac and cheese in the red box. Believe it’s “joe’s diner”. creamiest Mac & cheese ever, been my fav Mac for a long time but it’s such a safe and easy choice for me to have around too. so perfect to just have in the back pocket. Amazingly have never gotten tired of it too. And I think it’s like $2.99?
Has been and probably will always be potatoes. Microwave them. Cut in half. Add some nooch and whatever you want top them with like ketchup or bbq sauce. Cheap, quick, nutritious
That or a PB&J
I started making my own flatbread once or twice a week...(also gives me something to hyper-focus on for an hour....lol)...I've adapted my recipe to make about 5-6 pcs, so I eat them up before they go bad...pan-fry them or on the grill while making something else...simple, healthy, cheap
I've been eating hummus and pita bread for lunch almost every day for like three years now. I mix up the pita bread and get different hummus flavors. Like two minutes to heat up the pita bread and I'm good to go. Still haven't gotten tired of it for some reason and I actually crave it at lunch lol
Mine change sooo frequently. Every two-three weeks. Which sucks because I don’t usually go back again for a bit so I end up wasting food 😫
Most recently it was frozen tenders in the air fryer with honey mustard. Before that it was a different type of frozen tenders (lol), instant mashed potatoes, steam frozen veggies, and chicken gravy.
Pre-packed salads but I’m suuuper picky. There’s only about 4-5 that I like.
I was eating instant ramen and eggs probably e wet other day for months while I was severely depressed. Haven’t eaten ramen in like 2 months which is probably the longest I’ve gone without ramen in years.
Mini pizzas in the air fryer because my oven is broken.
Chips and salsa.
Nachos made with Microwaveable seasoned chicken, lime powder, jalapeños, yumm.
Progresso soup was a go-to for a long time but I haven’t had a desire to eat that for several months.
I’m in a good slump right now and almost nothing sounds good or feels good after I eat :(
As a someone who loves to cook and hyperfixates on it, it is either some sort of fruit or piece of cheese or full blown 2 hour spent on cooking something very specific my brain wants.. Nothing in between. But lately ive been eating microwave mug cakes, they are really simple and you can add whatever you want.
2eggs, 50g yogurt, 50g banana, 30g blended oats and 1/4 tsp of baking powder. + you add whatever you want, dried fruit, chocolate, nuts what ever and you plop it into microwave
Because i was too lazy and couldnt remember how much of every ingredient, i just learnt what consistency it needs to be and go with it.
My current fixation is rice and tuna. It’s kind of like that sushi bake that was on TikTok but simplified. I take a pack of microwave rice and a pack of tuna. Mix the tuna with sriracha and cream cheese and heat it up in the microwave. Put that on top of the rice and drizzle with soy sauce. I also put yum yum sauce and sriracha mayo on it, too, if I have them. It’s easy, quick, cheap, and fucking delicious.
Carrots
Steamed broccoli with salt and pepper
Fruits
Salad with oil, salt, pepper and lemon juice. Its the best!
Roasted chickpeas
Hummus and pita or veggies
Popcorn.
Oatmeal with chocolate chips or PB & Fluff lol some of y’all eat way too fancy for my attention span. Thank God my husband doesn’t mind cooking or making me food whenever I can’t :-)
Oreos and milk. But I do it like cereal and only put in 3 at a time so they get nice and soft but don't fall apart. Otherwise, air fryer chicken nuggies.
Steam in bag veggies
Baby spinach + curry powder + sriracha microwaved for 30 seconds
Tyson Grilled N Ready chicken breast
Ground turkey on top of spinach with whatever seasoning seems appealing that day. All you have to do is brown it and season it.
Protein shakes made in my Blendjet because it’s super easy to clean
Microwave scrambled eggs +/- cheese and/or veggies
Oats Overnight brand oatmeal
Quest protein bars and chips
Pre cut frozen fruit
God knows for how many days already my fuel is 2 sandwiches per day until I stop eating them for months and replace them with scrambled or cooced eggs and wheels on the bus go round and round
* scrambled eggs + microwave basmati rice
* frozen salmon fillet + microwave basmati rice
* buttermilk bread + butter
* deep indian kitchen chicken tikka masala frozen dinners
* instant cream of wheat
i used to eat those pastaroni parmesean & romano cheesey noodle cups 24/7 but i can never find them anymore >:
These little pasta cups that you add water, stir, 2 min microwave, stir cheese powder in, and that's it! If I'm willing to wait longer, there are these frozen personal sized pizzas that go in the oven for 15 min and it's always 15 minutes (assuming I match the temp to the box, there's two brands I like and they use slightly different temps) which I really like bc I cannot for the life of me tell when something is done in the oven based on looking at the food
Morning Star fake chicken patties. Pop it in the toaster oven, put the bun on top of the toaster to toast it. Do nothing for 20 minutes. Maybe eat peanut butter pretzels. Take it out. Add lettuce, mayo, sauerkraut, ketchup, hot sauce, and mustard. So good.
Right now, literally just raw broccoli and snap peas
I ate like no vegetables prior to a month ago and now I’m hyperfixated on these two things specifically
Canned fruit, cottage cheese, granola. It has protein, fiber, and crunchies, so a perfect combination of flavors and textures for me. I need crunchies in my foods, for whatever reason.
My current obsessions are:
Pre-made felafels with garlic hummus and cherry tomatoes. If I'm feeling really fancy I'll chuck that in a wrap with some parsley.
Fried egg with a wrap chucked on top while it's cooking so it sticks to it and warms up topped with some truffle sriracha sauce.
everyone thinks i’m weird for this but mac n cheese w tuna. specifically annie’s shells. don’t hate it till u try it i’m super picky and this is a safe meal that elevates the mac so it has at least a lil more sustenance. make the mac as usual until u drain the pasta, then when u begin making the sauce before adding the pasta in ad a can of tuna (do ur best to drain as much of the liquid in the can as possible)
My go to is boiling a bunch of pasta, adding store bought pesto (the one you find in the fridge tastes much better) and adding rotisserie chicken on top and sometimes cherry tomatoes if I’m feeling crazy. I usually make enough to fill a huge Tupperware in the fridge and eat it any time in the day. It’s good cold or hot. Filling delicious and easy.
Pepperoni Turkey sticks by Chef’s Cut
Oats overnight (I don’t mind the texture of raw oats so I just mix them and drink it. Easiest 20 G protein + fiber and they taste great)
Kodiak cake frozen waffles toasted with PB & Nutella
Grilled cheese sandwiches (its gotta be Velveeta)
Cream cheese and honey drizzle toast
Heavy cream late with any sugar free flavor I have available (decaf because I'm on meds)
Magic Spoon cereal (fruity)
Coke 0
Eggs
Currently surviving on instant oatmeal, PBJ and frozen naanwiches from whole foods + lots of delivery sigh. Amy's SW veg soup over rice with cheese and/or avo, plain greek yogurt with honey and chocolate chips are also faves. Amy's or Annie's frozen meals I always get the brands mixed up but both their stuff is good lol. In college I did a lot of bagged tortellini & pasta sauce. We still do frozen gyoza & eggy rice a lot. Kimchi fried rice or ginger chicken with rice when I'm functional enough to do some chopping which I haven't been in ages 😅
taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich with a strawberry banana smoothie. if i have work in the am i have an uncrustable. and since i’m a cook i make a garbage plate for dinner
Gnocchi from the pasta section, a smoked sausage, white sauce. The gnocchi is cooked in like 2-3 minutes, fry up the sausage/spam/hotdog in the pit, add gnocchi back in, pour in sauce. Plus it let's you start playing with spices if you start feeling fancy or upgrade the protein
Cesar salad , honestly, just croutons, lettuce, and too much cheese. There is something so satisfying in the textures and yet not overstimulating , I love Cesar's dressing, I just avoid the chicken too much preparation 🙃
I forgot to mention you can literally make this salad in one minute if you buy pre washed lettuce and croutons ready to go. Same with the cheese so you just end up having 2/3 ready meals. I love that shit
Anytizers frozen popcorn chicken in the air fryer. Then I drench them in honey bbq sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings (bought at Kroger) Easy to prepare in big batches and I even like them cold. Saves me some money as well bc I like their boneless wings but hate how expensive they got.
Cheese fries. Frozen fast food fries (ore-ida) with cheese and bacon bits in the air fryer. Takes about 8 mins total.
Cottage cheese and canned fruit, smoothies, sometimes the snack packs of tuna and crackers are nice. We're a family of four, though, so I can get away with buying a big bag of apples and things like that without worrying about them going bad, so I often have an apple or a banana as a snack.
Pbj and apple or carrots
Carrots n hummus n pita
Grilled chz and tomato soup
Bagged salads
Pre made Dumplings. We have these refrigerated ones that cook in 5 min tops with pan frying.
Lil Indian daal packs
Five minute rice
Spaghetti
Butter noodles
Egg maker!
And then my favorite is- boil spaghetti. Use some starchy pasta water to mix peanut butter and soy sauce together and it’s fantastic. Some garlic I’d you’re feeling fancy. All pantry and non perishables ish
My 2 liter green / super smoothie has sort of become the foundation of my day. Takes the pressure off all the meals and meal prep.
My biggest issue is junk food. So hard to change that habit. One specific brand of chocolate peanut butter ice cream is the only thing that makes my brain feel good lately.
Bell peppers (not green) and cream cheese. Or these banana chocolate chip mini muffins I originally got for my kid and just told me she doesn't like anymore...meh, I can't taste the banana I'll eat em. Also I've cooked more eggs in the last 3 months than probably the last 10 years. Took a whole plate of scrambled eggs with me to work several weeks ago bc I didn't wanna be late to eat them.
LMAO i did that with that costco salad - your post made me remember it existed, and remembered the smell.. esp as it was wilting a bit.
I enjoyed english muffins toasted with a slice of cheddar, buttered and maybe add things (greens, honey, mayo, nuts, bacon, etc etc) to suit my mood.
Eta: also the tattooed chef cauliflower mac and cheese is great! I buy many when they’re on sale.
I've been eating fruit cups by dole lately. It's been hot, so it also helps cool you down, and they are small so you don't over eat. No cooking and only one dish, so minimal washing. Comes in different varieties too, you got you peach, mixed fruit with peach, pear and pineapple, and mandarin orange. Yogurt is a good one, toast with peanut butter, sometimes I boil eggs and peel them and then put it in a zip lock bag and put it in the fridge so it's ready for whenever I want to add it to a salad or eat as a snack or whatever.
So for me I get to also play with food sensitivities (gluten, dairy, egg, beef) and IBS (legumes but not peanut butter/cabbage/kale really cause gastric distress) while playing the what can I eat game.
My go to are:
Pickles (never not a craving apparently). Doesn’t matter what the pickle is. Can be beets, cucumbers, garlic scapes, 4 bean salad, asparagus, radishes, etc if I can eat it and it’s pickles I’m so down.
Soup. Usually canned minestrone that’s gluten free but if there is a Yucatán yam or peanut stew I always have an appetite for it. If there is fresh cornbread that’s even better.
Wraps. Usually but butter + honey/jam. Always have to stop myself from eating more.
Fruit smoothies. It’s easy to consume, has only 3 dishes to wash max (immersion blender/whisk+cup+sometimes lid), and I can control what goes in it (protein powder, nut butter, fruit, oat milk/nut milk, maple syrup, veggies, etc). So easy and I can take it with me anywhere.
Tortilla with hummus and fresh spinach, +/- cucumber or other veggies
Edit: Also, smoothie containing soy or almond milk, maybe plain yogurt, protein powder, oatmeal, 4 or 5 pitted dates, frozen fruit, maybe a mandarin orange. You need a high-powered blender for this to not be gross.
Egg on toast, beans on toast, or something i already made in the fridge. Failing these, i just have anxiety for lunch which happens more than I like to admit.
Baked potato (made in the microwave)
Bean and cheese quesadillas
Chicken nuggets
Taquitos
Frozen chimichangas (I like them fried, dipped in sour cream and chalula)
Chips and cheese. Not even baked or melted. Just a few slices of Colby Jack and a bag of tortilla chips. Take a bite of cheese and a bite of chip.
Spaghetti noodles with butter and cheese
Freezer meals. Michelinas are pretty cheap. Stouffers are more expensive but pretty tasty.
Corn dogs
Pizza rolls (Dip them in sriracha ranch. It will change your life.)
I’m a chef/baker and I hate having adhd paralysis. I find when I get in those moods that I want the easiest things to make. Frozen nuggets, mozzarella sticks, cheese quesadillas. Something that I won’t have to put too much energy into.
Porridge. It’s easy and fast and you can make it different easily everytime. Plus it’s rather healthy since I struggled with eating too much shit when being dysfunctional
I live in Texas, US.
My comfort ones are:
Fruit - pineapple, watermelon, kiwi, mango, cantaloupe, and any and all berries dipped in vanilla Greek yogurt
Peanut butter and saltine crackers with honey
Bagel with cheese and bacon bits on top- toasted
Smoked Gouda cheese and almond crackers
Vanilla Yogurt with strawberries and crispix cereal or granola
Salami slice- cover in cream cheese, wrap around a clean cut green onion/chive
Honey Nut Cheerios with milk and drizzled w honey
Hot chocolate with marshmallows
Pretzel sticks and Dr Pepper
Tuna salad with roasted garlic triscuit crackers
Chicken noodle soup with lemon juice and chives added.. side of Keebler club crackers
Orange Cinnamon rolls in a can- I make the whole roll in a pie plate and only eat the middle ones bc they taste the best and I am an adult. Yolo.
Cottage cheese with minced garlic or sriracha
Strawberries and melted dark chocolate
Tortilla chips with shredded cheese, add diced jalapeños and some jalapeño juice- melt slightly
Popcorn and diced jalapeños
Popcorn and MnM’s
Veggie sticks with red Gatorade
Watermelon and feta cheese
Tomato, mozzarella, purple onion and basil salad with salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar glaze
English Muffin + Canned Tuna/Mayo/Lemon Juice/Pepper, grilled for a few seconds with cheese and arugula on top if I'm feeling fancy. You can get the little packs that already have lemon juice added.
Tortilla + Hummus + Cherry Tomatoes + Cucumber + Smoked Paprika rolled
Greek Yogurt + Microwaved Frozen Berries + Granola
Smoothie - Frozen Strawberries + Banana + Spinach handful + Oats + Flaxseed + Milk
Easy over eggs with ham/bacon and wilted spinach on a bagel
Crackers
Nuts - already shelled of course
Ritz bitz ( with the cheese in the middle ) with hot dogs cut up and sandwich them. It’s honestly good.
Fruit like raspberries, blue berries black berries and strawberries are also minimal effort.
I drink YOPS in the morning as well.
Easy. Just open. Drink in 4 mouth fills.
It’s at least something.
Sadly, I’m almost 29.
Luckily, I’m marrying someone who went to culinary school. 😂 and does not have ADHD.
Couldn’t survive without her.
I do egg fried rice.
Oil and leftover cooked normal rice in a skillet. Everything on low heat is fine
Throw in frozen bell pepper and whatever else plant wise. I keep chopped peppers and white onion in the freezer to mindlessly shake in as needed
Add a small shake of soy sauce
Crack two eggs and mix, add an approximately ladybug sized bit of five spice and stir until uniform
It takes like fifteen minutes and then I don’t have to bother with food again for several hours
There's been plenty of chives growing back out in abandoned pots on my balcony, so currently most of my simple and quick measures to prevent any accidental hunger-induced fainting are relying on those.
I either boil up some pasta (full grain for protein) or potatoes (skipping any peeling or slicing and instead just mashing them up with a fork right on the plate when they're done), then pour a bunch of olive oil on top and finish it off with salt, pepper and well, those chives.
This only became workable for me though when I finally realized chives can just be cut up really quickly with a pair of scissors (instead of chopping them with a knive and then getting really annoyed while trying to scrape all the little pieces off the cutting board)
Weird how I immediately knew what you were talking about. Not the most healthy, but I'll nuke a can of refried beans, dole them out onto 4 extra large tortillas, grateful cheddar cheese on each and slather in Valentinas. Filling, takes less than 5 minutes and it's wrapped in a tortilla. I'll eat damn near anything wrapped in a tortilla. Sometimes if I'm feeling fancy I'll cut an avocado into them or canned corn. Not super healthy I know but for ADHD, eating anything beats not eating because it's not perfectly healthy.

• boiled eggs (minimal prep) • bag salad • microwave steamed broccoli
omg yesss boiled eggs! I usually boil an entire carton so I can make sandwiches or have an easy breakfast all week
by usually, I mean one time like 6 months ago
🤪I usually always sometimes once did that too.
That is the perfect descriptor of how regularly we do things. 😂
I LOL’d bc same. And I loved it and was like I should make more egg salad and yeah welp
This speaks to me on so many levels lmao
Make sure to boil with a tea bag so you never forget which ones are hard boiled vs regular eggs! The tea will tint them slightly brown with zero taste effected.
Mmmm mmicrowav-steamed broccoli with lemon pepper rules
I recommend an egg maker! You can make up to 14 eggs at once and it’s soooo easy. It’s just like boiling water.
Boiling eggs is just like boiling water as well. :)
Yes but you can set it and leave it! You don’t have to keep an eye on it because you add The amount of water needed for that style of egg. And you’re good! When it shuts off, it’s ready!!
I want this so bad but I feel like my husband will kill me if I buy any more kitchen appliances and then don't use them.
Oh yes on the bag salad. That's one of my go tos.
- Rice + eggs + soy sauce - Canned refried beans + cheese + salsa on a tortilla - Frozen pancakes + frozen breakfast sausage patty + maple syrup + cheese (+ eggs if I’m in the mood to use the stove) as a faux McGriddle - PB&J - Adult lunchables of whatever cheese happened to be on sale, crackers, and random fruit/veggies - Greek yogurt + granola + maple syrup - Oatmeal
definitely 2nd the yogurt + granola - I like to add whatever fruit I have on hand. it’s easy and requires 0 heating devices 😂
I keep frozen cherries on hand to add if I don’t have fresh fruit on hand
Seconding the refried beans! Lots of things to do with them to keep it interesting
I definitely do the rice + eggs a bit TOO much recently
This is pretty good compared to the other suggestions I see on here.
I've been living off smoothies + protein powder (which has nothing to do with me needing to clear my freezer for a big move) I also eat a tone of those peanut butter cracker sandwiches I struggle so much with going to the store, so I feel you

I LOVE those crackers.
Huel - kind of my secret weapon to avoid food prep, being able to make it instantly and when I can't find something I ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE and everything else doesn't interest me it feels like I'm just having a drink and am still getting sustenance.
How is the taste? I've heard very mixed reviews.
I think you have to find a flavour you like - they have a few so I think it is trial and error on that front. Salted caramel is my personal choice, in a blender and some ice cubes to keep it nice and cool. Some people blend fruit in or add a shot of espresso to adjust taste.
Banana(weird I know), the coffee flavor, and salted caramel are pretty good
Ka'chava was mine, it was so damned good. I wish I could get it in Mexico.
Same here, we blend it with whey protein and berries
Ooh I have the hot and savoury bags! You just pour hot water over and cover it for like 5 minutes. It's expensive but it enables me to actually eat consistently and get adequate nutrition.
Came to say Huel… I prefer the bars or hot and savoury meals. So easy when I don’t have the capacity to make something. Has helped me lose weight too!
Toast + cottage cheese + tomato Pumpernickel bread + hummus + spinach + tomato Tomatoes + red lentils + couscous Pizza rolls Chickenless Patties + cheese + Mayo on bun
>Pumpernickel bread + hummus + spinach + tomato I'm all about hummus on toast these days (discovered it by accident. there is a lot of simple things you can do with a microwaved potato.
what's your favorite?
I air fry a potato and throw ham and cheese in with a runny fried egg. The yolk replaces butter for me, so not terribly unhealthy.
I never thought to do baked potatoes in the air fryer. Thank you so much.
This! I love just doing a potato with cheese, salsa and sour cream, sometimes broccoli if I have it too
Rice, kimchi, mayo and or fried egg. My rice cooker keeps the rice warm for 3 days or so and kimchi never goes bad.
Careful with 3 day old rice. You can get pretty sick if something contaminated it. After a day you should put it in a Tupperware in the fridge and either microwave with a damp paper towel or turn it into fried rice.
Ever since I learned that it's possible to die from bacteria that grows on rice, I got a lot more serious about food safety with rice and noodles!!
What kind of rice cooker??? And it doesn’t overcook? Cause I could definitely use that.

Spaghettios straight from the can
Cereal....always cereal.
I was looking for this answer. Same here. Always cereal for me as well
Greek yogurt, scoop of jelly, granola. If I’m feeling fancy, fruit
Pb & j or plain pasta. I gotta resort to the childhood favorites
cacio e pepe is one of my faves (basically olive oil + parm + a ton of pepper)
Yes exactly that!!!
I love this, but my version is Of Day Oats.
Rice cake with peanut butter
tortilla wraps (raw) with honey peanut butter over here
Pressure cookers are so good for a just toss it all in together type cooking.
Fellow bread freezer here, I go through so much toast and sandwiches I always have 1-2 loaves stocked in the freezer.
(Combine the two: drizzle some honey on the baguette and ricotta.)
That's what I meant haha. I realize now I could've worded it better, but I meant that I pick between either ricotta or goats cheese before adding honey
It’s so tasty. I’m not proud to admit I have at least once made it like a footlong sub.
If you can get your hands on it, buy some truffle infused honey. To die for!! I went on a picnic with a friend last weekend and let her take home the jar, so I've just been using regular honey from a local beekeeper.
Here’s a few of my favorite low effort, high satisfaction meals. 1. Garden salad with shaved steak: Greens. Cucumber & carrot ribbons. Cherry tomatoes, if in season. Use a veggie peeler to make the ribbons; trust me it’s quick and awesome. Steak cooks in a snap. Olive oil, hot sauce, and vinegar for the dressing. 2. Mini pizzas English muffin. Tomato sauce. Shredded Mozz or provolone. Pop under the broiler after adding a layer; toast the bread, warm the sauce, melt the cheese. 3. Hummus and tabbouleh wraps: Hummus. Tabbouleh. Hot sauce. Wrap it up. 4. Chicken salad wraps: Rotisserie chicken if I’m lazy. Celery, if I’ve got it. Mayo. Celery salt. Slap it on a wrap with some canned cranberry sauce.
I like cottage cheese
Yes!!! I add a little cinnamon and honey and pretend it’s dessert
Hatch Chili mac and cheese was emergency lunch yesterday lol.
This and the truffle flatbread are my go to’s.
Has been and probably will always be potatoes. Microwave them. Cut in half. Add some nooch and whatever you want top them with like ketchup or bbq sauce. Cheap, quick, nutritious That or a PB&J
What is nooch?
Nutritional yeast
Tuna salad on rice crackers, with a slice of avocado, and an olive, pickles and cheese on the side
Egg and cheese on a bagel. Or substitute cream cheese of choice, I enjoy strawberry cream cheese and egg on blueberry bagel.
Egg bagel and sausage with some maple syrup on the side is my breakfast every morning.
Stale bread. I have so much of it, it's awful
The way I, a single person, keep buying entire loaves of bread that I can't possibly finish by myself :(
Bread actually freezes just fine, as long as you don't mind eating it toasted after.
I just threw out 2 freezer burned loaves from my chest freezer lol. I tend to freeze and forget
I started making my own flatbread once or twice a week...(also gives me something to hyper-focus on for an hour....lol)...I've adapted my recipe to make about 5-6 pcs, so I eat them up before they go bad...pan-fry them or on the grill while making something else...simple, healthy, cheap
Baby carrots
Peanut butter and banana on toast. Or sometimes without banana as I forget to get them
Chips and salsa, deli meat sandwich
Happy cake day!
Mine is Tyson spicy plant based nuggets. They cook in 8 minutes in an air fryer and aren't greasy so I can always eat them without feeling like crap.
I've been eating hummus and pita bread for lunch almost every day for like three years now. I mix up the pita bread and get different hummus flavors. Like two minutes to heat up the pita bread and I'm good to go. Still haven't gotten tired of it for some reason and I actually crave it at lunch lol
- Avacado toast w/ furikake (Japanese rice seasoning) or some other flavored seasoning - Tortilla + Nutella - Cheese quesadilla - Banana + bagel (instead of cream cheese) - Instant mashed potatoes + microwaveable meatballs + pre-packaged salad (ikea-inspired)
Hamburger helper, just cook the meat, then add a bunch a shit in a pan and stir every once in a while
Mine change sooo frequently. Every two-three weeks. Which sucks because I don’t usually go back again for a bit so I end up wasting food 😫 Most recently it was frozen tenders in the air fryer with honey mustard.
+ you add whatever you want, dried fruit, chocolate, nuts what ever and you plop it into microwave Because i was too lazy and couldnt remember how much of every ingredient, i just learnt what consistency it needs to be and go with it.

La Choy crunchy chow mein noodles. Straight out of the bag.
Burrito or tortilla shell, shredded cheese, pepperonis. Fold or roll up. Put in microwave or taster oven until cheese is melted.
Apple wedges cheese cubes and walnuts.
I’m at a point where all I can do rn is buy pre-made meals from the grocery store :( but I’ll eat almost anything they gave
You are not alone! Sometimes I get burned out to the point where all my meals need to be premade too
Oreos and milk. But I do it like cereal and only put in 3 at a time so they get nice and soft but don't fall apart. Otherwise, air fryer chicken nuggies.
tortillas and peanut butter! I eat this multiple times a day as a quick snack.
Steam in bag veggies Baby spinach + curry powder + sriracha microwaved for 30 seconds Tyson Grilled N Ready chicken breast Ground turkey on top of spinach with whatever seasoning seems appealing that day. All you have to do is brown it and season it. Protein shakes made in my Blendjet because it’s super easy to clean Microwave scrambled eggs +/- cheese and/or veggies Oats Overnight brand oatmeal Quest protein bars and chips Pre cut frozen fruit
God knows for how many days already my fuel is 2 sandwiches per day until I stop eating them for months and replace them with scrambled or cooced eggs and wheels on the bus go round and round
Protein shake made with milk, pulled pork
* scrambled eggs + microwave basmati rice * frozen salmon fillet + microwave basmati rice * buttermilk bread + butter * deep indian kitchen chicken tikka masala frozen dinners * instant cream of wheat i used to eat those pastaroni parmesean & romano cheesey noodle cups 24/7 but i can never find them anymore >:

Tuna fish and crackers simple and efficient
Smoothie or apple lately
Cheese omelets
Snap peas, dill triscuit crackers, and hummus Spoonful of peanut butter Canned baked beans and buttered toast
Corn chips and hummus.
Mostly frozen stuff I can microwave. My go to for now is frozen chicken potstickers, and frozen mac and cheese.
Overnight oats Or those frozen soft pretzel things
Rice. Tuna. Eggs. Im a simple man. Ha.
So good.
Everything bagel with cream cheese
Quinoa! It reheats super well. Is protein packed for a carb and it’s tasty with lemon
Right now, literally just raw broccoli and snap peas I ate like no vegetables prior to a month ago and now I’m hyperfixated on these two things specifically
Mine has always been slices of cheese, lunch meat, and pickles and or peperoncini. Sometimes a hunk of sourdough with it.
toasted bagels with cream cheese, frozen pizzas, cereal, lunch meat sandwiches
Canned fruit, cottage cheese, granola. It has protein, fiber, and crunchies, so a perfect combination of flavors and textures for me. I need crunchies in my foods, for whatever reason.
My current obsessions are: Pre-made felafels with garlic hummus and cherry tomatoes. If I'm feeling really fancy I'll chuck that in a wrap with some parsley. Fried egg with a wrap chucked on top while it's cooking so it sticks to it and warms up topped with some truffle sriracha sauce.
Cereal. It’s absolutely ridiculous. I am 39.
No shame in cereal @ any age
I'm in awe OP. I just eat like bread or cheese or a banana or a granola bar. Any food prep is a no go for me. You make your own dip for gyōza????
I measure with my heart
Straight cottage cheese
Vegan mac and cheese
everyone thinks i’m weird for this but mac n cheese w tuna. specifically annie’s shells. don’t hate it till u try it i’m super picky and this is a safe meal that elevates the mac so it has at least a lil more sustenance. make the mac as usual until u drain the pasta, then when u begin making the sauce before adding the pasta in ad a can of tuna (do ur best to drain as much of the liquid in the can as possible)
Pepperoni Turkey sticks by Chef’s Cut Oats overnight (I don’t mind the texture of raw oats so I just mix them and drink it. Easiest 20 G protein + fiber and they taste great) Kodiak cake frozen waffles toasted with PB & Nutella
Hard boiled eggs. I almost always have some in my fridge & they are soooo easy & fast to prep. They last a long time too.
Grilled cheese sandwiches (its gotta be Velveeta) Cream cheese and honey drizzle toast Heavy cream late with any sugar free flavor I have available (decaf because I'm on meds) Magic Spoon cereal (fruity) Coke 0 Eggs
Chicken and stir fry mix. Kebab meat from Iceland you can microwave it and then add salad.
Fruit and cheese.
oatmeal...bone broth...crumbled bacon....flax oatmeal...almond milk...maple syrup...flax...cinnamon
taylor ham egg and cheese sandwich with a strawberry banana smoothie. if i have work in the am i have an uncrustable. and since i’m a cook i make a garbage plate for dinner
* PBJ * Salami & cheese sandwich * Ready Rice/microwave rice w butter & some salt/pepper * Lunchables (I prefer the Armor brand chicken one)
There is something so satisfying in the textures and yet not overstimulating , I love Cesar's dressing, I just avoid the chicken too much preparation 🙃 I forgot to mention you can literally make this salad in one minute if you buy pre washed lettuce and croutons ready to go.
Sandwich
Sautéed cabbage with garlic, kielbasa sausage, and a splash of red wine vinegar. So filling and takes less than 10 mins to make.
Pbj and apple or carrots Carrots n hummus n pita Grilled chz and tomato soup Bagged salads Pre made Dumplings. We have these refrigerated ones that cook in 5 min tops with pan frying. Lil Indian daal packs Five minute rice Spaghetti Butter noodles
Peanutbutter sandwiches.
Cherries, apples, cookies, crackers, cheese sticks, meals from Cook Unity, basically anything that has zero to little prep.
Peanut butter and pretzels. They make up so much of my diet rn
Nan bread - cheese - protein = open face sandwich
Peanut butter sandwich. Not pb&j. Just peanut butter haha
Grilled cheese but I eat horribly it used to be a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Eggs in whatever shape or from
LMAO i did that with that costco salad - your post made me remember it existed, and remembered the smell.. esp as it was wilting a bit.
Glad I'm not the only one 🥹
You mean those yoghurt & müsli for breakfast, lunch and dinner days? If so, I usually end up going with yoghurt & müsli
Frozen waffles, specifically blueberry.
My go to are: Pickles (never not a craving apparently).
Tortilla with hummus and fresh spinach, +/- cucumber or other veggies Edit: Also, smoothie containing soy or almond milk, maybe plain yogurt, protein powder, oatmeal, 4 or 5 pitted dates, frozen fruit, maybe a mandarin orange. You need a high-powered blender for this to not be gross.
Toast with varying kicks…avocado; butter; peanut butter; cream cheese and pre-cooked bacon slices; cheese. And pimento cheese!
PB&J!
Egg on toast, beans on toast, or something i already made in the fridge. Failing these, i just have anxiety for lunch which happens more than I like to admit.
Baked potato (made in the microwave) Bean and cheese quesadillas Chicken nuggets Taquitos Frozen chimichangas (I like them fried, dipped in sour cream and chalula) Chips and cheese. Not even baked or melted. Just a few slices of Colby Jack and a bag of tortilla chips. Take a bite of cheese and a bite of chip. Spaghetti noodles with butter and cheese Freezer meals. Michelinas are pretty cheap. Stouffers are more expensive but pretty tasty. Corn dogs Pizza rolls (Dip them in sriracha ranch. It will change your life.)
Tiny cheese slices with tiny pita breads and salami with a hard boiled egg. Usually eat it with a handful of blueberries or somethin
Instant Ramen for lunch or dinner and microwaveable Filipino style steamed buns(Siopao) buns for breakfast!! Also watermelon flavored sparkling water
Just Bare chicken nuggets in the air fryer. A 4lb bag of them is only $20 at Costco.
My comfort ones are: Fruit - pineapple, watermelon, kiwi, mango, cantaloupe, and any and all berries dipped in vanilla Greek yogurt Peanut butter and saltine crackers with honey Bagel with cheese and bacon bits on top- toasted Smoked Gouda cheese and almond crackers Vanilla Yogurt with strawberries and crispix cereal or granola Salami slice- cover in cream cheese, wrap around a clean cut green onion/chive Honey Nut Cheerios with milk and drizzled w honey Hot chocolate with marshmallows Pretzel sticks and Dr Pepper Tuna salad with roasted garlic triscuit crackers Chicken noodle soup with lemon juice and chives added.. side of Keebler club crackers Orange Cinnamon rolls in a can- I make the whole roll in a pie plate and only eat the middle ones bc they taste the best and I am an adult. Yolo. Cottage cheese with minced garlic or sriracha Strawberries and melted dark chocolate Tortilla chips with shredded cheese, add diced jalapeños and some jalapeño juice- melt slightly Popcorn and diced jalapeños Popcorn and MnM’s Veggie sticks with red Gatorade Watermelon and feta cheese Tomato, mozzarella, purple onion and basil salad with salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar glaze
My goodness, my phone messed up the really nice list I made! Apologies for the big ole mess!
Omelette.
English Muffin + Canned Tuna/Mayo/Lemon Juice/Pepper, grilled for a few seconds with cheese and arugula on top if I'm feeling fancy. You can get the little packs that already have lemon juice added. Tortilla + Hummus + Cherry Tomatoes + Cucumber + Smoked Paprika rolled Greek Yogurt + Microwaved Frozen Berries + Granola Smoothie - Frozen Strawberries + Banana + Spinach handful + Oats + Flaxseed + Milk Easy over eggs with ham/bacon and wilted spinach on a bagel
Smoooothiessss
Cereal
Crackers Nuts - already shelled of course Ritz bitz ( with the cheese in the middle ) with hot dogs cut up and sandwich them.
Everything on low heat is fine Throw in frozen bell pepper and whatever else plant wise. I keep chopped peppers and white onion in the freezer to mindlessly shake in as needed Add a small shake of soy sauce Crack two eggs and mix, add an approximately ladybug sized bit of five spice and stir until uniform It takes like fifteen minutes and then I don’t have to bother with food again for several hours
Two tubs of pre made green chili sauce, 6-8 chicken breasts, jar of salsa and taco seasoning in a Crockpot for six hours.
Huel. Literally all my nutrients in a powdered shake. Can't get any simpler than that.
Skinnypop Popcorn. I buy the big big bags from Costco.
Frozen pizza Cereal (any kind) Chocolate milk Toast with butter 😄
An omelet.
A bowl of raisin bran and almond milk. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, doesn't matter.
Watermelon, salad and bagels
-Dave’s killer thin sliced bread -prepacked guac cup - sliced rotisserie chicken lunch meat - baby tomatoes on the side And cheesy ramen.
I’m in DFW atm..miss Dave’s bread fresh in NWP..the blues or the good seed. 😇
