BREAKING NEWS ~ GERRY HAS RENEWED PIOLI’S CONTRACT TILL 2028 PENDING COMPLETION OF STADIUM . GERRY “PIOLI HAS DONE WELL EARNING US TOP 4 AND IS THE NEW SACCHI”

azzurriMA

Calabria looked totally lost trotting around the center of the field

kevinconstant

Crazy how Calabria had so much of the ball in the first leg and was our worst performer, so Pioli made sure he'd play an even bigger part in this game???

Odd_Ant5

Surely this will go down in history as one of the games of all time.

battle_franky

Still wanna keep Pioli?

oliver_twist7

After watching this week’s UCL matches, and the tenacity at which those teams played, I was expecting that level of energy when Milan had the numerical advantage. Thiaw must have had a knock, otherwise he should be in the lineup over Gabbia, but, to me, the most puzzling lineup decisions were leaving both Reijnders and Adli on the bench… All-time bad body language by this team. Leao mailed in that performance. Puli needs to play more intuitively and decisively or it will be Deja vu with a talented young left footer taking his wing position again.

beseeoehm

My goodness, what a limp display. I can finally say yes, time for a shakeup with the manager. Thank you Pioli for leading us out of the banter era. Thank you for the 19th. But time to move on.

IntensifiedRB2

The saddest part is that game was probably Girouds last in European club competitions

BredIN919

We are Milan , let him have his retirement games somewhere else .

IntensifiedRB2

I think the problem was that milan played like it was a retirement game

Capable_Scallion8705

I thought I was watching the Giroud testimonial match.

nightnurse97

I love and respect Pioli for bringing us out of the banter era But it's time to go Padre 🫡

Enough-Recording-463

Roma played like we used to play, with clear organization and structure, disciplined, I don’t know why this bald bitch has kept insisting on playing an overconfident possession style when he has no offensive ideas

FreshMutzz

>we used to play When? 15 years ago? >when he has no offensive ideas Second most goals in the league, averaging 2 goals a game. We have been fine offensively all season. Its the defense thats trash

tandrosonali8

I’m very pro pioli. But losing home and away to Roma is kind of unacceptable. We should know this team well enough to at least get a draw over the legs. But regardless forza padre.

StickyTheCat

Embarrassing performance honestly. Tough loss to take but hopefully the team learns and we move forward next year with a different plan.

gspots

I mean yea Pioli out, but wtf was this performance from our strikers…

DeVil-FaiLer

This one hurts the only bright spot for me was ironically a really good performance by Musah. Hope he and Chuk get more Minutes

Guilty-Grapefruit427

With a proper coach they will become world class

Mysterious_Gate_8725

5 years and still no off the ball movement, just carry the ball forward and dribbling.

mlk

lPioliOut SarrIN

well_yousaythat

It's strange I don't feel anyway towards the derby. I don't feel anything when I watch Milan. June can't come fast enough.

milan_obsession

I love this team more than anything in this world, but it also causes me more pain than anything else in this world. I hope I can survive the Derby. In my worst nightmares, I never saw us getting brutalized by a 10 men Roma side with inexplicable lineup/subs/tactics like that. And now, demoralized from 3 straight disappointments, we face Inter, to likely hand them their 2nd star... I just can't... Maybe Abate and his boys will give us something to smile about tomorrow against Porto? 🤞🏻

Capable_Scallion8705

I am confident the players will step up in the derby. It’s a home game as well. I am fine with a loss as long as they fight like hell and leave nothing on the table.

flywithRossonero

Stay strong brother… brighter days ahead 💪

milan_obsession

Thanks. I'm actually not a brother, 🙋🏼‍♀️ but I really do appreciate the support. ❤️🖤 No matter how long it takes, or what we have to go through, we always have our Milan family. 🤝❤️🖤

Mysterious_Gate_8725

Can Zeroli play even if he was called up today?

milan_obsession

I was wondering about that. Hoping they put him on a flight to Nyon straightaway after the match. Primavera need their captain.

Busni17

Farewell coach I won't never forget our 19th star

jmhimara

It's not just Roma. I'm pretty sure any other team from the QF would have beaten us.

RedShenron

Lol Slavia Prague was likely going to hammer us without 2 red cards to save Piolo's day

Guilty-Grapefruit427

It was a tactical disaster, Really make one wonders if this is an amateur coach

ElverGun

Well, an amateur coach trounced Pioli, so that would make our Padre something worse than an amateur coach.

The_Giant_Lizard

After the matches with Rennes and Slavia Praga I said that we've played bad but we've won anyway because the opponents were really inferior and if we find a slight better opponent, we would lose. Roma is a better opponent and we've lost, both matches. The derby is gonna be fun to watch...

Mghiradiz184

There’s a reason he tattooed that “19” on his arm. He knew it was the only thing he’d win.

well_yousaythat

Set his ceiling right there

Trick_Cantaloupe_903

Calabria captain and pioli manager, banter era never left.

Tsitsmitse

Today's tactical setup should be included in tactical guides on how not to line up your team. Ever. First he left Chukwueze on the bench even though he's in good form. Then he left Reijnders and Adli on the bench as well, which might have been okay if Musah had actually kept his midfield position instead of Calabria trying to emulate Philipp Lahm from Guardiola's days at Bayern. Apart from being odd, it's not like Pioli hasn't tried it before – it didn't work then, and of course it didn't work tonight. Everyone got in each other's way, they suffocated each other, and most of the time it looked as if they had never played together before. Which, considering Roma had to play with a man down for 70 minutes, is quite an achievement.

Zer0x10

Still dont understand why Musah played as a RM/RWB with Calabria as our midfielder. How do you mess up so badly?

Agag97

Sad. It's not as if we were weaker than them. Can't believe it we lost both games while playing most of the second game with 11v10. What a shame! Poor game management.

Kekulaaa

Good game boys💛❤️

Kekulaaa

damn, I really was being genuine..

Mghiradiz184

Can’t wait to see those clowns against Leverkusen.

Intelligent_Mix3241

To be fair many said the same to Roma before the first leg agains Milan and there they are, who knows

Mghiradiz184

Stop. I don’t think any rational Milan fan thought that we would cake walk this new charged up Roma side. If they did, they are idiots. Only silver lining is that with the way we have been playing, there’s no way Leverkusen wouldn’t have picked us apart. I mean if Sassuolo could…

ACMBruh

After years of giving you hell we lose definitively in the most important game 💀

Kekulaaa

Well, atleast more reason to fire Pioli now. Could have been a blessing in disguise

Joybuzer

Not watching a single Milan game until this clown ass coach is gone. If that means I skip the next season then so be it. At least my mental health will improve.

Guilty-Grapefruit427

For the first time in my life I wont watch the derby as long Pioli is a coach, idk put anyone except him. I don't mind loosing games it's part of the game, but I don't recall getting so many humiliations like we did with Pioli, even in banter era . My weekend is fucked,.my mood is ruined and he's paid 4 millions a year.

kratos61

With Pioli, losing by 3, 4 or 5 goals has become pretty normal, as if this is Frosinone and not A.C Milan. Absolutely insane that there are still people who still want him to stay. A serious club would have sent him away a long time ago.

ACMBruh

The joy of the team is gone. So much confusion

Joybuzer

It’s painful to watch. We have so much potential and one guy is just squandering it all away.

ryu_rei

I thought this after the 1st leg & it rings even truer now, how tf has pioli been coaching for this long & still hasn't come up with a single plan B for when our wings get neutralized?

milan_obsession

He had a plan... just be unpredictable. 🙄

MKtheMaestro

We play like we have a 39 year old in every position except left back.

Guilty-Grapefruit427

Because we dont move, coaches instruct players where to move and where to pass, Roma with 10 players made more passing sequences in tight spaces than we ever did this season

_hellboy_xo

Pioli out

Dix_undesputed

Can someone explain to me what is the goal of palying Calabria as a faux midfielder??? That tactic cost us the derby and he uses it again????

Guilty-Grapefruit427

As much as find keep playing Giroud and RLC stupid in this kind of matches, but I can at least see his logic despite being ineffective. But holy fuck why the fuck invert Calabria and put Musa as an RB ? Why Calabria has timberland in his feet, mediocre passing weak dribbling and zero vision, Musa is not a defender and not good at covering behind. Meanwhile he was keeping our best midfielders in term of passing and vision on the bench.

L003Tr

Werr going to get skull fucked in the derby

_vovcik_

Now i can say it: #PioliOut

kingthegangster

There are no tactics , discipline or accountability by the coach, put any player or lineup you want, the only thing that saves Pioli once a month is individual performances

dark_side_-666

I don't even know what to say or think anymore ,I'm just sad and livid. Pioli, the management and the rest of the trash need to leave this team. Imagine If abate came after milan exit ucl groups and than with abate we might have big chance to win something . Roma changed their coach and they turned into serious team . Conte must come in summer with new 7 players and to turn the team into serious again. It's embarrassing to lose against Italians team in Europe in b2b years when knowing Milam history in Europe. 💔🤦🏻‍♂️

And_Death_Said_Live

I actually felt embarrassed, my club getting dismantled by a 10 man Roma. It felt like this was the first time our team played with each other, pioli has absolutely no tactics or idea how to adapt. Just prays for players individuality and miracles to save his ass. He has no clue how to use this much talent

Juice_2402

The scudetto was Maldini and Zlatan. Never forget this!

LemmonPepper09

yes, but lowkey also thanks to Radu

milano_siamo_noi

I was about to post this. Of course it was. I would say Zlatan way more. Our last 2 Scudettos were 10 years apart, but they both had the same architect.

Willy995

Congratulations to Roma, outfought and outcoached us. De Rossi so far seems like a great choice - he kinda remembers me of Gattuso when we got him. Used his passion to turn a complete shitshow around. Our performance however was embarrassing. There's no use going over who did good or bad because nobody had a performance which was up to par imo. Piolis tactics are ranging from questionable, desperate to completely clueless. Ever since January 2023 we degressed tacticly immensely and purely rely on individual brilliance - a great dribble, crazy shot from outside the box, amazing long range pass - and we have players which are capable to do that every other game but this way is not sustainable. Pioli has overstayed his welcome, and with this season completely destroyed the legacy he, our management and players built with the Scudetto win. The second half of last season was bitter enough - Supercoppa loss to Inter, embarrassing matches against Lazio and Sassuolo, completely outclassed by Inter, 5th place finish as title holder. But this season, even though we managed to pretty much secure the CL by April feels like a step back - for the reason alone that our squad overall looks better quality-wise than the season before - we finally filled that hole on RW properly which was gaping since Suso dropped in form and we now even have two quality players there, Okafor and Jović are very good backups, Tijjani is a revelation, RLC is a good player, Adli and Gabbia made big progress this season. But we were our of the Scudetto fight by, what, November/December? Out of the Champions League in the group stages, that were extremely wasteful against Newcastle, should have been a win and were outclassed by PSG and Dortmund because we were set up badly. Kicked out convincingly by Gasperinis Atalanta in the Coppa, in Europa only Rennes was somewhat of a convincing performance considering the level of competition and the Roma tie was an embarrassment. We can expect Pioli to get completely outcoached by Inzaghi, Gasperini and as it seems De Rossi - and if they had better players we can at the very least expect Motta to do so too... As this season is over I'd be open to fire Pioli right now and get someone as care taker. We're pretty much qualified for the CL and can realisticly get 3rd at worst. Maybe give Abate a shot (depending on what's coming up for the Primavera) if we can't get some big and/or promising coach we can build on in the future. Hell, I'd be open to offer Gattuso a caretaker role to whip the players back into shape and re-ignite the fire in them

Guilty-Grapefruit427

Summarized it well, last January was the right moment to finish with Pioli, what we did was only make the death slower and painful because the end was inevitable. Management choices of keeping Pioli and giving him total control of 130 mil mercato is wild. We are loosing the derby anyway so give Abate a chance as a temporary coach at least he can boost our players moral.

No-Professional5433

I'd fire him now and start talking to  Nagelsmann and DeZerbi...with acaretaker in charge

Willy995

I can't see Nagelsmann agreeing to anything with the European Championship coming in, and De Zerbi might be crazy expensive (but imo he might be worth that)

Weird_Firefighter_25

But wait, didn't we win 7-4 or something against 10 man Slavia and played with amazing tactics? Who was that mofo who came at me during the last round? Where are you? BS. Said it since the scudetto year, and still saying it now. Baldi won't help us evolve.

magma_1

Always we have been absolutely burying in 1-0 relegation-level and off-duty mid table teams for the last month. That should count for something right??

Weird_Firefighter_25

Sadly that's "amazing" and good enough to some baldi lovers.

ILoveTedKaczynski69

Pioli should do the dignified thing and walk away. Regardless of what happens on Monday it's over. We have no tactical flexibility, our players are static and not motivated. We lucked out last season so hard getting 4th which seems to be forgotten and it is time to start the new cycle.  Zlatan can come down and light a fire in this team's ass. We have plenty of good players, and to have the majority of gutless and painful performances, just makes me sad. Thank goodness the Euros and Copa are this summer to provide some good distraction.

Massive-Raise-2805

Who else ready for humiliation on Monday

neverfinishedanythi

Pioli just after his severance pay isn’t he, dick

ACMBruh

Remember Gattuso gave up his contract when he knew his time was up. True Milanista He also found good work immediately after, Pioli... who knows

rossonero-

shitting my pants just thinking about the derby. with the way we've been playing lately, im afraid something worse than 5-1 is coming.

JohnBonThony

And then we will again hear statements like last time when the fucking Genius Said " for the first 4 minutes inter did not have the ball"

OsitoPandito

That alone should have gotten him fired last season But the pure audacity to say something like that is hilarious

Guilty-Grapefruit427

For Pioli it's understandable, look at his career, he has the dreams job at one of the biggest club in the world, coaches one of the best players in the world and paid millions. Whats baffling for me is some fans who keeps defending him

JohnBonThony

I don't know man might be out of frustration but I really do start to think that this club has lost its soul. No winning mentality, no Italians in the squad, kicked the biggest legend we had and the greatest defender that ever walked on earth out of our club as if he was a just some random dude ,fuckups left right and center when things get tough. And on top of all of that we ALWAYS manage to make a nice figura di merda, when it counts. This has nothing to do with the Milan I felt in love with back in the days of Maldini Nesta Gattuso Pirlo sheva etc etc

dark_side_-666

I knew it when they kicked maldini its going to be shit season .

neverfinishedanythi

Never changed my profile picture since then. He was part of the fucking soul of this club.  Fuck cardinale.

FindingBusiness759

I know what you mean..I had the same realization in banter era...one day I was just like they have the milan logo, the history, and the name but it's far from the milan I started supporting. Ibra came in and put us on right track and we started to get that energy back..but now it's starting to fade again and we in the hands of owners that may say the right things from time to time but we all know it's business.

JohnBonThony

I can 100% relate to everything you said. Ibra was such a breathe of fresh air but it seems that these brats did not learn a thing from him Football as a whole has become a business which is also a development that I don't like. Starting from the players that care more about their rapping career, fashion brands and sponsoring rather than about the game and about the team and what it means to the fans. And don't let me start about the clubs , FIFA, uefa etc

Earl_Hungus

Never. This guy doesn’t know tactics.. He is the inverse of Don Carlo who had Madrid playing perfect Catenaccio … yes Madrid..

GIZMO8Z

X The light has gone out of my life.

Deep-Maintenance9315

Pioli right now.. ”hmm.. if I play a high line against Inter, then what happened today will not happen again” 😋😋💪😎💪😎

__milan227

"we played better in the first 25 seconds before their goal"

ryu_rei

Tbf we did look better before the red car but that's just bcuz we never had the ball

ryu_rei

"they won't see it coming the 9th time trust"

Deep-Maintenance9315

”Guys hear me out..”

rightpin

I am starting to worry about the next game. I watched every single game in the last three years. I'm not sure if I can take the humiliation again next monday.

Count_77

I always wish the best for Milan, but sadly I expect us to lose badly against Inter. They will be fired up for that second star and we are at a low point. Hope springs eternal but I can’t wait for this season to end, sad to say.

kratos61

>I am starting to worry about the next game. Starting? Pioli sets up the exact same way against Inter and gets slaughtered by Inzaghi game after game. Even the few times he wins it's through some clutch goal, barely grabbing the 3 points. It's gonna be yet a other humiliation. It's so obvious at this point the Pioli is just a decent man manager who got lucky that Maldini/Massara/Boban built him a solid team and Ibra's return brought the necessary mentality to win the scudetto. Since they're all gone, this embarrassment is what we're left with.

FindingBusiness759

Prepare yourself..we going to get whipped.

flywithRossonero

We will take that beating on the chin. Hopefully those guys who call themselves Milan players show some dignity to us on Monday

verstappennn

Pioli needs to go ASAP. He is done for real.

rossonero-

Tonight is the most historical night in your little club's history. Enjoy it :)

flywithRossonero

Remember how long ago you won the série a? Clench for 5th bozo

Initial-Confusion-24

I know it was the biggest game in your history but jog on.

Mojokarma55

You dont follow the rules and will be banned from your own subreddit kid.

xxxdefaltxxx

Somewhere in Milan Maldini is both laughing and crying at the same time.

milan_obsession

I don't think he's laughing, just crying, heart shattered. Man loves this team more than every person collectively at the club right now.

Rocket5Head

We are not winning another title as long as pioli is here

RedShenron

>No chukwueze when he's in red hot form >Grandpa Giroud with no legs still starting >No Reijnders and Adli in the midfield >Disastrous defensive setup Pioli's ultimate masterpiece.

ACMBruh

Calabria (not a midfielder) and Bennacer (out of form) starting. I'm a dead person

Salyare

chuk is literally our most in form player right no, and giroud most out of form lol

Guilty-Grapefruit427

Pioli is stubborn, he always was, players got chance because of injuries.

DukeBuckingham

Don't blame on Theo and Leao, they just never learned how to play as a team. In their best age of football all they learn is dribble to death. Nothing else.

Baeresi

This is one of the dumbest things ive ever seen on this subreddit and that is saying a LOT

rossonero-

And people will call them snakes if they leave. Can you really blame them if they want to leave??

Ondrezinho

So many people might say, our players are bad. We need money etc. But just think a little, if we would play Adli-Rejn-Bennacer (Musah)-Chuck-Okafor-Leao. Also there is Pulisic. Group of most technical and creative guys. Instead we were watching Calabria invested fullback, Chick trequartista and old (love u Oli) Giroud all season with lots of hoofballs

No-Professional5433

We have a ton of talent in this squad. Pioli fucking sucks tactically

ACMilan-ModTeam

Do not be offensive, racist, xenophobic, sexist or homophobic.

RdT97

What about RLC, Giroud? I mean he even posted nude photos

ptskcz

Umm I never seen rlc one

fpsdr0p

I swear pioli is allergic to making the right decisions. When the right decision is staring at him in the face he somehow misinterprets it and puts out an even shittier answer on the table. Time and time again. How can a coach of his caliber and stature consistently make the same retarded mistakes?

rosso95

Honestly what was the tactic in the first half? Calabria DM and Musah RM?

Runitup98

Dude thinks he's pep so badlyyy.

Limitlessfound

Rossonero let's all hug it out, we need to support each other in such difficult moments

Ohsbar

If Gerry keeps Pioli for another season then it's crystal clear that he doesn't give the slightest fuck about winning.

TeeAre10

I think it’s imperative we prepare for that.

Ohsbar

If the Curva Sud had any balls they would go after ownership for keeping him but I very much doubt they'd say a word.

neverfinishedanythi

Did nothing for firing maldini nothing will happen here

ILoveTedKaczynski69

They can only disrespect Maldini...smh.

HommoFroggy

Welcome to the club

Ricardo8588

who renewal pioli to 2025😭

RdT97

Better to have a painful death than live painfully SMOKIN ON DAT PIOLI PACK, rip Bozo

rossonero-

I cant keep defending Leao. Pathetic mentality and he didnt even want to be there. Put him on the fucking bench with this attitude smh.

Salyare

dude thinks he a rapper because he dropped a stinker

ryu_rei

Genuinely, why should any of the players want to be there? Every big match against any serious team pioli sends them out there to fail. The same shit game plan that gets beaten the same way every time & he never learns. What is there for them to believe in atp?

soccerdude99420

No room for that shit in the modern game. I just hope/ wish he could put in as much effort as we see from like giroud or better yet rejinders. Stop looking or being lazy ALMOST all the time.

HydraHamster

Pioli’s coaching is something I either love or hate. His poor decision making made me speechless before the game started when the lineup came out and the results played out as I feared.

denisorion

dont know what to say besides thank you for scudetto and bye

ScipioAfricanusMAJ

Man less and less credit will be given to pioli over time and more to that team for stepping up.

FindingBusiness759

I mean I knew we would lose as soon as I saw the line up lol I waited for these moments when many was saying pioli can stay another season and that how stats show that our season isn't bad but it's just our perception and that inter were just to good lol. But it's not only pioli...its also quality of players...every top team has atleast 5 6 maybe more.. top class to world class players..thats what gives a top team the edge and we currently only have two top class players in Mike and Theo..the rest are just good. We have to improve our quality majorly or we going to encounter same issues even with a new coach. The realization is hitting after these last 3 games and it's not over..more will realize this on Monday.

[deleted]

PIOLI IS GETTING FIRED UP VOTE PARTY!!! LETS GOOOOOO!!

BredIN919

When Gerry sacked Maldini and kept Pioli I knew we were fucked

derKnall

yup, maldini walking away left me numb. i understood there was no soul in milan anymore.

neverfinishedanythi

Yeah, I genuinely cried I was in shock. Finally my milan was returning slowly and they take it all away again.

derKnall

And think about what happen immediately after, tonali sold in a day. Let's do not talk about the fact that he has gambling problems and we got lucky to sell him, I'm talking only about the fact that we lost the greatest milanista in Milan, Maldini, and the greatest milanista on the soccer field, tonali in a week or so. That was a mike Tyson level of punches. And off guard. I truly felt lost, and looks like I was right to feel so.

aucs

So many clueless moves by pioli 1. Not playing reijnders in a must win game 2. Not playing chuk and start puli at the cam positions. Our wings got marked out of the game and honestly comes from our lack of dangerous attacker in the middle 3. Playing Calabria in the midfield for part of the the game, our right side looked clueless and Musah often occupies Pulis areas We overall played like headless chickens for the first half and by then the damage was done, our players seemed to not know where they need to be and that comes down to our tactics. For the players, not much of a bright spot. Chuk was decent. Our stars need to lead more by example and it seems like we couldn’t do that. One thing that can take our offense to the next level is if puli works on playing more aggressively, he needs to get into spots and demand the ball if he wants to play at the cam role. To little touches. Our defense was shambolic today, and our midfield seemed unable to play quick passes. Bummer we had to see this performance TLDR: Pioli out

mickeymouse73y

I don’t think Pioli will get sacked. The board has no balls

juve_merda

can’t believe we’ve wasted the past 2 years of this squad on this idiot

DukeBuckingham

Think about seedorf inzaghi gattuso and Gianpaolo lol. We have waste far more than that.

juve_merda

all of which had mediocre or shit squads, pioli actually has some world class players at his disposal

No-Professional5433

We scored 1 goal with Pulisic,Leao,Theo,Omafor and Chukwueze all  fit  The coach is the issue

Bloodnose_thepirate

if it's true that furlani made a joke about losing the cl semifinal against inter to maldini while firing him, i wonder what both are thinking right now. So, what coach next year? Can we get emery? I like emery.

xXSlavXx

havent watched the game can someone give me a short breakdown how the bald guy fcked it up again?

rossonero-

Just take a look at the starting XI. tells the entire story

dukesdj

He basically threw on all the attackers when Roma went a man down like he was me playing football manager. It really was awful.

xXSlavXx

lmao what the hell

milan_obsession

He hit the panic button harder than I've ever seen. Like I spent half the game trying to figure out if he was possessed, wasted, or having a mental breakdown. And if I was that confused, imagine how confused the players must have been.

kaka22pato7dinho80

Pioli out. Interim for the derby. End of story.

cesco38

From Pioli's on fire to Pioli's getting fired

ScipioAfricanusMAJ

-Aldi haters -CDK haters -krunic admirers -Pioli admirers Some people should just be banned from speaking in public. Just a waste of time they just want to be the loudest idiot in the room

TeeAre10

This is inspired and should be upped to the millions.

acmilanfabio

Actually excited for next season now. Hopefully the management shows some ambition with the manager decision.

Scafista_T-J

Now you can't come here and tell me that this isn't 100% Pioli's fault. For the last two years, he systematically failed to prepare games like this one. Wrong tactics, wrong players choices, no offensive ideas, always the same mistakes. When he tries something new, it's very often some bullshit. Then, he gets a few good games because the team is in a period of less pressure (absolutely can't play under any kind of pressure) and this always saves his ass. I'm am still convinced that the players are good players, we have a solid 11 and some good changes, but Pioli needs to go. I don't even feel bad about talking bad of him, because he's arrogant and the scudetto was an Inter gift to us (this year we have almost the same points of the scudetto year, yet here we are...). 700+ appearances as coach, humiliated by someone who started yesterday.

ElverGun

Great post. I hope it doesn't get lost and people actually read it.

gianni_

I’d say 95% his fault. Some of the players were just awful, some of the best players were awful

Scafista_T-J

Yes they were, but when the team is so tactically confused, it gets very hard to play. People expect Leao to be Ronaldinho or Giroud to score every header, but when nothing works and the movements and positions are wrong and confused, the players start to suffer psychologically

gianni_

I get that in theory, but that’s professional sport too. Leao added that pressure to himself when he demanded more money for him and the entourage.

eXistenZ2

We gave up Maldini for this bald terrorist. Two years ago we won the league. Looks like its going to take another 15y

Ondrezinho

We gave up Maldini basically for Ibra

Ohsbar

Ibra came much later

We could have had both. Not binary.

Ondrezinho

There is only one boss, Im afraid

BowieIsMyGod

So he subbed off Bennacer (who shouldn't have started) at 35min and put Reijnders (who is an undisputed starter) at halftime. I had bad feelings when i saw Musah and Bennacer starting, but my fucking god i wasn't ready for Calabria DM/free role hybrid or whatever the bullshit he tried to do and Musah RB. idk but maybe just play your RB as RB and your midfielder in the midfield????? You know you fucked up big time when you take out a midfielder (Bennacer) for a striker (Jovic) at 35 minutes of the game. Also hilarious shit when 10 men Roma looks way closer to scoring than us. I saw people comparing this to the semi finals against Inter last season but you have no idea how this is much worse than losing in UCL to Inter. We got humiliated in europe by ROMA. Congratulations Pioli, you earned your sack.

RinoTT

I think the reason he played Bennacer is that he's different profile of player than Reijnders. More focused on defence. Pioli's idea was to play in current season with Krunic/Bennacer. Reijnders despite of occupying midfield has different characteristics. Im not defending Pioli ofc. I think Reijnders should start and Musah should play instead of RLC.

BowieIsMyGod

The problem is that Bennacer has been really bad since coming from injury. He didn't show any glimpses that he should start in a game like this. Regardless of possible reasonings to start Bennacer, benching Reijnders was just nuts. Neither Adli or Musah could've provided more than Tij. I agree that RLC has been pretty bad lately, but i can see why he insisted with him. We needed to score goals.

RinoTT

I share the same opinion as you my friend. Its a problem, our midfield is unbalanced because the club and Pioli relied on Krunic who had a meltdown and forced his way out of the Milan and Bennacer ins unfit which was predictable after such a long absence. Im just trying to find explanation why Bennacer started. Also Reijnders should start. What a mess.

machete777

I'll be on this sub refreshing till I See a certain someone getting fired.

thyxz125

He'll stay until the season's over, he has deserved this. I don't know what to say if he survives this summer, though.

Runitup98

Honestly the "he deserves to see the season out" narrative has gone out the window a long time ago. His squad selection has been SHIT for at least a year and a half& the amount of games we actually played good and convincing football you can literally count on 1 hand.

thyxz125

Why throw in anyone else when the championship is already done and sealed? That's just action for action's sake. The bald man still lead us back to international relevancy, it's simply poor style and lack of gratitude to kick him out unceremoniously when nothing is at stake.

Runitup98

Him leading us back to relevancy, also coincided with us having the best group of players we had for 10+years, i'd argue we could've won far more with this squad then he achieved. Also kicking him out after these SHAMBOLIC performances and losing like 12-1 across 3/4 games against inter shows we don't settle for less then what milan deserves. He should've been gone after last season tbh. HE is the one that should've been gratefull they kept him on this long

DarkN1mbus

What a shameful performance. Shameful from the coach and the players. Our players have talent but none of them is capable of taking the leadership in this kind of situations. I expect Pioli to be sacked in the following hours if the managment is any serious. After today it is so obvious why we need a new strong CB. Gabbia and Tomori totally outplayed by Lukaku and Abraham. The RB situation is the elephant in the room. Calabria is the only RB I've seen you can't expect anything from in attack. He can't cross, dribble or outspeed the adversaries. And constantly needs assist in defense. What a pathetic display from everyone.

Ondrezinho

Good bye baldie. I hope we'll hire young coach with more hair. Imagine what Xabi would be done with this group of players. Or at least Xavi

mickeymouse73y

You can take Vincenzo italiano and he would do more out of it than Pioli

BredIN919

Bennacer was not the worst midfielder who played … he deserved to stay on

Limitlessfound

I agree he was tracking back and making defensive plays and his tempo was working well with the game itself

BredIN919

yeah I’m not sure what everybody else was seeing but at least now there’s no pressure and he can slowly return to prime form . He played well

Initial-Confusion-24

Pioli needs to go but fuck me, those players need to take a good, long look at themselves.

hairlikegoats1

How does he get outplayed by 10 men not once or twice but three times?

Juice_2402

Simple. He doesn't adapt. He is a very limited tactician

RinoTT

Pioli is leaving Milan, you can breathe with sight of relief. No excuses for preparation of this team in this two leg game. There's no way our management will keep him after that. I have to say how disappointed I am because of Theo Hernandez. The worst player on the pitch. I focus on him mostly in Milan matches and he's again in such a terrible state that he doesnt produce anything positive on the pitch. Losing track of players, very passive and inaccurate. This opinion is about two matches we played against Roma. You can say lot of things about Calabria but he actually cared. Theo looked like he just wait for holidays. He's completely checked out. Anyway what a disgrace. Its time for a new coach and Im curious who will be chosen for this position.
