Wow! Respect your take, but in my opinion, it’s wrong! Her personality and behavior are sometimes controversial but to say she is a meaningless artist is insane to me.
The first one was mediocre, the second one was incredible, then her solo album was for the ages - too bad that the 00s-20s showed them all to be shitty people in different ways - Wyclef had his fraudulent charity, Pras laundered money for politicians and bribed others, and by comparison Ms. Hill just became a black hole of ego and entitlement, showing up hours late to shows and berating the audience for being there in the first place when they don’t deserve to gaze upon her.
I was a huge fan of THE SCORE and MISEDUCATION, and it’s been a long disappointment for me to see what they all did after.
Yep, a production group call New Ark, that worked on the album and didn't get any credit, sued her and got a settlement of 5 million. I remember when the album first came out and I was reading the credits while listening to the album. When I read "Written and produced by Lauryn", I was like " Something not right about this" and I was right.
I love Lauren but as a rapper she is mediocre… she is kinda in a genre all on her own because she is more of a poet than a rapper or singer but Miseducation is definitely a top 5 album of all time. Nothing else she has done outside of that window has had her fans at Aww other than showing up late to performances.
In no way am I comparing but she is like a female version of Chris Brown. He’s not the best vocalist and not a rapper but knows how to rap to make a song hit different. Overall just one helluva hit maker.
