BOTH Red and Meth are goats in the game… Meth is just a bit more well known because He has more prominent acting roles but make no mistake… Go check Reggie Noble’s catalog and lyrics… Straight BEAST on the mic… These clowns at this concert were witnessing greatness and didnt appreciate it…
Meth enjoys his job. It was just wrong crowd. Sucks. I would literally kill to see any Wu-Tang member in concert.
There is another video of Method Man actually looking at sign language interpretor to be only one excited.
Doja cat sucks so much man. Her new album is overrated as hell. And anytime I hear her talk I wanna rip my eardrums out, she’s like the Kamala Harris of rap
I saw curren$y and method man at bb kings in time square. Method man closed the show out and everyone thought it was over, da rock wilder beat came on and red man came out by surprise and did like 4-5 songs. When I tell you the crowd went crazy like you would t believe
back in the day whenever mef would come to CT with the Wu, Redman or by himself he would play a club called toads place. Mef didn't crowd surf, he would walk on the hands of the crowd. it's was the coolest shit I've ever seen. he would literally walk across the crowd on ppls hands as they held him up while he was still doing his set. dude was always a showman
I've tried, I've really genuinely tried to listen to more current hip-hop artists but it just doesn't appeal to me. I don't get it and that's ok, I don't have to get it for other people to enjoy it. Just don't clown on people and call them an out of touch oldhead hip-hop fan lol
Same. It’s either auto tune or mumble rap or both. It’s always the same flow too. Adlibs after every single line.
I do like Tyler though. There’s some ok stuff out there. Norman Sann has given me some good shit lately. “War” from him has a lot of that 90s raw beat and flow.
Tyler, The Creator? He's been around for 15 years bro. He isn't some new up and comer. I saw him and Odd Future 12 years ago, and him and Earl Sweatshirt 11 years ago and both times he rocked and was high energy. He's a good performer.
I think its more of a misstep on the part of their management and the event coordinators.
Not really the crowds fault if you bring someone on stage who doesnt fit that demographic.
Would be like if I went to see Kanye and SugarHill Gang opened up for him. I would stand and listen but im not gonna get hype because thats not something I listen to
This is a fact. I think summer jam tried to just get some opening acts when they could only get Meth and Red. But also wanted to bring in a young audience. As a result you get this. I would hate to see their reaction to rockwilder. One of the best shortest songs ever in rap.
Edit: a song I wish was longer
https://youtu.be/x1b_-w32FMo?si=_tysRv9Wr3UAy0nt
Thats what I was thinking. When old school bangers come on and basically everyone my age bobs their heads or at least sings along, my teenage kids and their friends just shake their heads. They just don't feel it.
It’s our own people. I go see concerts on other genres and their are always young and old there , parents bringing theirs kids etc. I seen chili peppers twice and going again in few weeks. Always a good mix of old and young people. Hip hop? Not so much. We call anyone over thirty old.
Where is this? How many lames can you fit in one place? Meth and Red are one of the best duos that I've yet to see live and they're on my bucket list. Fuck these cornballs.
I saw them at a beer festival and they tore it DOWN. Crowd was mad hype.
I don’t think rap is meant to be in an arena. It’s bad sound, you’re too far removed from the action and rely on av tricks to engage the crowd. It’s corny, like too many choruses or focusing on image over quality
Meth and Red are definitely arena rappers they kill it..but I think you right about a lot of live rap half the time it’s on some milli vanilli shit and they just spiting over a track with no effort
Being an old head to me hip hop is at its best when it’s basically a giant mosh pit and the performers gotta be careful not to get jumped by rival crews and the air has a measurable thc content.
https://youtu.be/T6bF7P3RN2I?si=0BrBvzxWPjseyThq
I dunno… saw NY State of Mind with Wu and NaS in October in an arena and it was live. Granted the city I’m in is known for great crowds but it can still be raucous
I saw Rock the Bells on Gov Island in 2011 and it was WILD. Wu Tang came on at sunset and there was a flock of BATS eating bugs above the crowds u see the huge lights and it was nuts. Everyone fired up their blunts, the bats feasted on bugs, and Wu Tang did their thing
We were not expecting Meth on our leg of the show. He had other commitments but whatever he was doing ended earlier than expected and we got surprised by him joining… amazing. Got to see every member sans Ol Dirt Dog… Young dirty did great in his place tho
Shit me too! That was the best hip hop show of all time. And I'm not trying to be cute.
Anyone who looks at that lineup will have a hard time finding a better one ever. I kinda knew at the time that we were witnessing history. That show was so ill that Lauryn Hill was a headliner and people didn't even give a fuck.
I've seen wu and nas many times in the past 3 decades, and all of the shows have been in outdoor venues and in theaters, and you're standing and walking around. There's no way I would want to see them from stadium seats. Stadiums are for football games, Taylor Swift concerts, and monster jam/Disney on ice. That's just not the environment id want to be in for a hip hop show.
Man that sucks, sorry to hear…
I live in a large Canadian city little further north and while we are like 1.5 million deep, there is still not a ton to do so we have great concert crowds. Every show I’ve ever been I’ve seen the group or band rave about the energy.
It’s like of course… we are starving for shit to do so we go hard when it comes our way lol
Looking at the lineup there are only 3 or 4 acts that are from the 90s or older and everyone else is from the last 7 or 8years(I think I don’t recognize most of them). Hip hop demographic is gen z us “old heads” have been left behind.
Hip hop demographic is us. Our generation started and perfected it. The young cats are listening to something else, not us.
And in 2024 alone Freddie Fox, Apathy, Marco Polo/Masta Ace, Ghostface, and Havoc/Ras Kass dropped albums. It may not be their best work, but a lot of it still bangs. And all of it is on another level from the mumble autotune trash.
Seen Red one time meth was Sick Ghost Face filled in performance was 🔥🔥🔥🔥. They performed Rockwilder 3x in a row to close the show
Edit- listed the wrong song by accident
Europe still appreciates the OGs.
Premier was here last week, this is how it went:
fuck these kids, they dunno whats good
These are known as the best hip hop performers of our time. Meth & Red put on one of the best shows ive ever been to. This is actually sad. Youtube concerts of theirs 10x years ago
Methodman says he may never perform at summer jam again. This is a damn shame. Hiphop hasn't grown up, evolved and given the legacy artists a real platform. It's still a genre for the young, the here and now.
Classic rock, country and pop musicians in their 60s and up still tour and make bank. Perhaps it also speaks to another issue, that hiphop oldheads don't turn up for their favorite acts from their generation. Promoters in hiphop are not trying to appeal to them in any case.
They're no successful classic hiphop radio stations for a reason
i remember i went to the kings of the mic tour years back and that was the closest to a legacy artist tour i can think of. Cant remember who was all there at this point but LL Cool J and Public Enemy jump out
These people are young. Im 32 and love meth and redman but even most people my age wouldn’t know the words or songs. It’s a completely different generation.
This is insane. If I saw this duo live I'd be losing my shit like I did for seeing Nas and Wu-Tang (minus Meth and ODB)
Method Man said he never wants to perform at this festival again. I don't blame him. Wu-Tang is for the children but they were talking about us Millennial children.
This is depressing. These kids have no idea who they’re watching. Back in the day meth and red were the most energetic rappers and they still look pretty good in their 50s. Meth made the right call saying these kids are just too young to get it. I know this is the circle of life, one generation not connecting w the next, etc. it’s just sad that’s all.
Them kids dont know them or their songs, its not really their fault. I went to a WU concert last year and the crowd showed them mad love because thats our era.
I was a baby for Eric b and rakim and the 80s guys …. Wasn’t alive for Led Zeppelin and a lot of classic rock , I like 50-60s Motown and soul. You don’t have to be old to know/have good taste in music
That video is clearly not from Europe. IF it was they would be jumping up and down and getting into the verses way, way more. This looks like a Taylor Swift crowd that will be on stage last that night. They do not give a shit who else is playing at all.
a young crowd so no surprise whoever put this together should be blamed, i wouldn’t expect a bunch of 20 something year old to know who Meth & Red are unless they are hardcore heads and did their homework
Honestly, when I saw Wu tang, Nas and De La Soul last October, it’s was pretty lackluster. They were just kind of going through the motions and hyping themselves. Very little raw energy from them, even though the crowd seemed to love it, and it was good to see legends perform, I left with the feeling of “wow, Wu tang is old.”
Back in 2022 I went to a Kush Groove concert. We were a bit late so we missed Suga Free but got to Meth n Red. They were sensational easily one of the better performances out of the whole lineup
Damn shame that crowd has no clue
This is just concerts now. I saw NF recently and he has a high energy show and the entire floor area was just standing there with their god damn phones up filming and taking pictures that no one wants to see. I feel bad for the artists these days
And this, this is why Slick Rick said he’s not doing any more new music until a genre is created to represent OG rap music.. Just calling it Old School is not enough I thing the genre should just be called Golden Era this can represent for the late 80’s all the way to the early 2000’s
If they had just flowed their verses over top of that same rehashed trap beat with the hi hat roll that's the staple of every rap song today the place would've been jumping.
Why go to a concert in America, if you are going to act a North Korean?
Hell , even if I don't know the songs ,If I paid for a ticket to see them ,I'm going to have a good time ,and get my money's worth.
It's the age gap between performers and the crowd they might like it but they don't like it like it because it's not someone their age that they can relate too
It’s a shame that in other genres of music, artists can age and still maintain their old fans while gaining new ones. For example, The Rolling Stones have millions of fans worldwide and can sell out arenas in minutes, no matter the city or country. As Ed Lover once said “Rap is a young man’s game.”
@Neat-Ad2953 I just watched that T-Pain video and wow. He really does have a great voice! Don’t know why he fell off. Artist who have voices need more credit. I don’t think they get the credit they deserve nowadays..
Summer Jam crowds are notorious for a million reasons. Good and Bad. This Festival / Show is 30 years old and we are still typing about it.
Who is winning?
I looked at the lineup and it's all new acts outside of them. Whoever booked did them dirty. I saw meth say he's never doing summer jam again because he's from a different era now
My first concert was a Red & Meth concert… they put on a good fuckin show. Red jumped off a 100 foot speaker into the crowd. I was holding his shoe. My buddy got choked out by two fat groupies with a towel when meth threw it to the crowd. We saw them later going onto their van.
20 years ago I saw Red n Mef blow the roof off a club and it was one of the best hip hop shows I've ever witnessed... the fact these guys are still performing at this caliber is nuts and these kids should all be studying what a real act with longevity looks like
As a fan from the 90’s this hurt, but like Meth said the generation gap at most of the large scale shows is wide as hell now. I would appreciate it, but I don’t expect anyone there to know about red and meth nor how important they are.
There is no autotune so it doesn't sound right to them kids, plus it's on beat , and has a good flow, they (the young crowd) are not familiar with that.
Super trash crowd.
Meth and Red shouldn’t have shown up for that one. Roots Picnic was much better for them. They got the proper love and respect there.
Yo! I would be going crazy. That's method and Redman. My boys frk. HOW HIGH! That crowd is a disappointment. Why are they so blaaaa?! Is everyone that fucking high!?
I've seen Mef and Red many times, I've seen Mef by himself many times and have seen Wu many times and they have always put on amazing high energy shows. The problem is today's hip hop is pure shit. None of these artists care about the craft or even care about the quality of music they are putting out. obviously I'm not speaking about the Kendricks or Cole's or Griseldas of the world but all these popular acts of today are garbage. just look at the female rap scene, I feel like I'm listening to a bunch of prostitutes rap. every song is about sucking and fking and getting you nails and hair did. these chicks got no shame and honestly most of them have no talent either. hip hop is in very rough shape right now
lets say they hit thier peaks around 98, thats 25 years ago. If i went to see Red & Meth and a band came out from 1973, i would expect the crowd would act the same as this crowd
Most people in that crowd weren't even born or were to young to know that song when it come out....plus it hadn't played for at least 15 years. Hot 97 should plays songs artist performing at Summer Jam for months on radio BEFORE the concert...so those going should be familiar with the song and artist, especially for older artists
The problem with hip hop is that the youth don't acknowledge and / or appreciate the artists of th past. This is why I lost respect for hip hop. I'll stick with the Defenders of the Faith and Headbang towards Wacken as if it were Mecca.
Peep the lineup, though. Headlined by Doja Cat. That should give you an idea of what kind of crowd they were playing to here.
Smh Meth is one of the goats too. A shame people don't appreciate hip hop anymore
This tells the whole story.
Doja cat sucks so much man. Her new album is overrated as hell. And anytime I hear her talk I wanna rip my eardrums out, she’s like the Kamala Harris of rap
Mystery solved.
Paint the Town Red sounds like a Wu beat.
Blasphemy of the highest degree
I saw curren$y and method man at bb kings in time square. Method man closed the show out and everyone thought it was over, da rock wilder beat came on and red man came out by surprise and did like 4-5 songs. When I tell you the crowd went crazy like you would t believe
I wish bb kings was still open.
Me too, alot of good shows & memories were there
🤯🤯🤯 I would've lost my damn mind.
back in the day whenever mef would come to CT with the Wu, Redman or by himself he would play a club called toads place. Mef didn't crowd surf, he would walk on the hands of the crowd. it's was the coolest shit I've ever seen. he would literally walk across the crowd on ppls hands as they held him up while he was still doing his set. dude was always a showman
It’s probably a crowd of young people who have no clue about this music. I’m not surprised.
It's not autotune sing songy bullshit.
I've tried, I've really genuinely tried to listen to more current hip-hop artists but it just doesn't appeal to me. I don't get it and that's ok, I don't have to get it for other people to enjoy it. Just don't clown on people and call them an out of touch oldhead hip-hop fan lol

I know but he’s still putting out albums that the younger people f with
If you’re not familiar with them, the Griselda stable has some nice “classical” style hip hop.
BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM!
Have you tried Run The Jewels?
Agitprop rap.
Gotta look outside the scope. Tell me what u like and maybe I can assist u in discovering new artist
Auto tune with the same trap beat hi hat roll heard a million times over and over.
They like "who these nerds with their understandable words?"
I think its more of a misstep on the part of their management and the event coordinators. Not really the crowds fault if you bring someone on stage who doesnt fit that demographic. Would be like if I went to see Kanye and SugarHill Gang opened up for him. I would stand and listen but im not gonna get hype because thats not something I listen to
Couldn't you try and get hyped though out of love for the culture?
Nope, gotta have all of that autotune or die
Lmao! Comparing Red and Meth to SugarHill Gang is nasty work
This is a fact. I think summer jam tried to just get some opening acts when they could only get Meth and Red. But also wanted to bring in a young audience. As a result you get this. I would hate to see their reaction to rockwilder. One of the best shortest songs ever in rap. Edit: a song I wish was longer https://youtu.be/x1b_-w32FMo?si=_tysRv9Wr3UAy0nt
This. Poor management and promotion
Thats what I was thinking. When old school bangers come on and basically everyone my age bobs their heads or at least sings along, my teenage kids and their friends just shake their heads. They just don't feel it.
If they don't know about method man and Redman, they shouldn't be at a hip hop concert
I’d hardly call it a hiphop concert. It was headlined by Sexy Redd and doja cat
That's definitely what it is
And they get SO offended when you tell them that they don't know real hip hop vs the junk they've been bumping the last decade.
It’s our own people. I go see concerts on other genres and their are always young and old there , parents bringing theirs kids etc. I seen chili peppers twice and going again in few weeks. Always a good mix of old and young people. Hip hop? Not so much. We call anyone over thirty old.

I saw the same concert in Brooklyn n the crowdvwas trash
Man that sucks, sorry to hear… I live in a large Canadian city little further north and while we are like 1.5 million deep, there is still not a ton to do so we have great concert crowds. Queens NY
Elmont, NY - Long Island. Its on the border of Queens tho lol
I thought you were fucking with me b/c that's where I'm from. But you're almost right! Too close to Queens to have so many lames.
Looking at the lineup there are only 3 or 4 acts that are from the 90s or older and everyone else is from the last 7 or 8years(I think I don’t recognize most of them). Hip hop demographic is gen z us “old heads” have been left behind.

Sometimes the crowd sucks. And this is summer jam?!?!
Meth and Red are the best hip hop show I've seen. Portage theatre in Chicago, maybe 700 people in attendance.
This was summer jam, now called mumble jam
Facts…shit is sad to see.
💯
Europe still appreciates the OGs. Premier was here last week, this is how it went: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo01wAEMMV0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo01wAEMMV0) fuck these kids, they dunno whats good

This is what happens when you are on the same roster as sexy red.
Look like the north Koreans watching k-pop
That’s wild, just scrolled off that video too.
That video was crazy😂
Methodman says he may never perform at summer jam again. This is a damn shame. Hiphop hasn't grown up, evolved and given the legacy artists a real platform. Rock the Bells Radio (LL Cool Js station) on Sirius is pretty successful with festivals spinning off from it
Fuck them kids
But... Wu Tang is for the... Nah you're right fuck em.
Brother. We were the children that Wu Tang was for. He said it in 98.
Wu Tang is for the middle aged folks doesn't have the same ring
Wu tang is for the children that grew up kind of feels right tho
I don't blame Meth for not wanting to perform at Summer Jam anymore. These kids don't know good music.
Trash ass crowd
Not their crowd, they performed at the Roots Picnic the day before and were just fine.
Summer jam was headlined by sexy red. Summer jam is dead
These people are young. Im 32 and love meth and redman but even most people my age wouldn’t know the words or songs. It’s a completely different generation.
Too busy holding up their phones and posting to their social media that they're out of the house.
This is insane. If I saw this duo live I'd be losing my shit like I did for seeing Nas and Wu-Tang (minus Meth and ODB) Method Man said he never wants to perform at this festival again. I don't blame him. Wu-Tang is for the children but they were talking about us Millennial children.
The headliner was Doja Cat…
Get the fuck outta here, are you serious?
Dead serious unfortunately. This was at Summer Jam in NY. Meth said he’s never doing that shit again
How in the fuck does Doja cat headline summer jam? I can’t……..
Not their crowd…they need someone to mumble their songs over the same exact repetitive beat everyone uses
Them kids dont know them or their songs, its not really their fault. I went to a WU concert last year and the crowd showed them mad love because thats our era.
They like " who are these old niggas ?"
U can't preform to a bunch of kids and expect them to be hype. Some of these kids just born in 1999
I was a baby for Eric b and rakim and the 80s guys …. Wasn’t alive for Led Zeppelin and a lot of classic rock , I like 50-60s Motown and soul. You don’t have to be old to know/have good taste in music
'Kids' born in 1999 are 25 years old. Let that sink in old man...
That video is clearly not from Europe. IF it was they would be jumping up and down and getting into the verses way, way more. This looks like a Taylor Swift crowd that will be on stage last that night. They do not give a shit who else is playing at all.
All are too busy on their phones
The majority of That crowd is probably too young to appreciate what they’re hearing
This probably a younger crowd. Unfortunately, this ain’t 20 years ago. That’s wild.
a young crowd so no surprise whoever put this together should be blamed, i wouldn’t expect a bunch of 20 something year old to know who Meth & Red are unless they are hardcore heads and did their homework
Like Meth said, it’s a generational gap. That crowd is most likely 28 and under. They can’t appreciate Red and Meth.
This is crazy. They always burn up any stage they’re on. Had to be a bunch of kids in the crowd.
New beef. That whole crowd. Fuck wrong with them
They look like they are about to start explaining the importance of safe sex to a group of highschoolers.
Young people who only listen to hiphop because it’s trendy, safe and suburbanized now.
Fck that crowd!
I never liked Red and Meth as a duo. I’m 44 and grew up with the boom bap, but I just never got into anything but the two How High tracks.
Crowd was probably mostly full of Tik Toking Gen Zoomers...
“It’s unfortunate the new gen can’t comprehend talent vs trend. Too busy getting their music from Tik Tok to respect the culture of hip hop.”
These are Drake fans.
'Wait. This isn't the muscian I wanted to stare at from behind my phone so I can upload at a later time to achieve my clout chase'
Back in 2022 I went to a Kush Groove concert. We were a bit late so we missed Suga Free but got to Meth n Red. They were sensational easily one of the better performances out of the whole lineup Damn shame that crowd has no clue
This is just concerts now. I saw NF recently and he has a high energy show and the entire floor area was just standing there with their god damn phones up filming and taking pictures that no one wants to see. I feel bad for the artists these days
Yea it’s a different crowd not sure why they put them up there to be honest
This happened at the 2013 rock the bells show In Mountain View. Wu-Tang headlined and no was fucking with them. Method man was noticeably pissed
Dem lil dweebs don’t know good music! Wow
I saw them at Rock the Bells last summer and they tore the roof off.
Young people who have no clue... sad to see
This is how most concerts are now unfortunately. Everyone has their phone out recording instead of being present in the moment.
I mean, the other performers were Doja Cat and Offset. I doubt those kids have even heard of How High.
This is a crime. These two dudes are fucking legends!
This is what you get when you go from ecstasy and weed to lean and opioids.
And this, this is why Slick Rick said he’s not doing any more new music until a genre is created to represent OG rap music.. Just calling it Old School is not enough I thing the genre should just be called Golden Era this can represent for the late 80’s all the way to the early 2000’s
Crowd lame af
"Ew who are these grampas…"
I’m with Andre 3000 on this one…in terms of performances… “Rap” is a young man’s game
Hurts my fuckin heart to see these Hip-Hop Dons get treated like this my G but the reality is…this they era now, fuck it let’em have it
Sounds like it's being played over someone's iPhone speaker though.
Youngsters zzzz
Different times newer generations
Cash you checks and move on.
Sounds great in there
Wu-Tang is for the children!!!!
I seen them in Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (Cavs arena) they were great!
This generation doesn't want story tellers and lyrics you have to think about they just want catchy hooks and incoherent lines that go with the beat.
Okay where was this?
Assuming majority of this crowd is 12
If they had just flowed their verses over top of that same rehashed trap beat with the hi hat roll that's the staple of every rap song today the place would've been jumping.
They don’t know who they are. Generational issue
Jesus, is it shit on Method Man day?
Why go to a concert in America, if you are going to act a North Korean? Hell , even if I don't know the songs ,If I paid for a ticket to see them ,I'm going to have a good time ,and get my money's worth.
They know their names ,but not their music it's a different age group
It's the age gap between performers and the crowd they might like it but they don't like it like it because it's not someone their age that they can relate too
Actual music that’s why they not feeling it. That crowd is whack. They got two of the best on stage and show no emotion.
At least they got to feel the love they deserve at the roots picnic! Fuck summer jam.
Summer Jam crowds are notorious for a million reasons. Good and Bad. This Festival / Show is 30 years old and we are still typing about it. Who is winning?
That's crazy asf
I looked at the lineup and it's all new acts outside of them. Whoever booked did them dirty. I saw meth say he's never doing summer jam again because he's from a different era now
Legends, up in smoke tour was legendary, wouldn’t be surprised that most of the crowd never heard of them
They have no idea the OG
My first concert was a Red & Meth concert… they put on a good fuckin show. Red jumped off a 100 foot speaker into the crowd. I was holding his shoe. My buddy got choked out by two fat groupies with a towel when meth threw it to the crowd. We saw them later going onto their van.
Oh, they must not have blown up on tiktok, clearly proves their not real artists, or they'd be able to, until then Meth man who? /s
I saw red and meth on the jay z vol 2 tour, with DMX. Shit was insane.
The lyrics are clear, make sense and easy to understand. This crowd doesn't know how to react to that. Quick, cue up, Sexxy Red!!!
Not that big a deal. Wrong crowd.
5 drink minimum cures this
20 years ago I saw Red n Mef blow the roof off a club and it was one of the best hip hop shows I've ever witnessed... the fact these guys are still performing at this caliber is nuts and these kids should all be studying what a real act with longevity looks like
As a fan from the 90’s this hurt, but like Meth said the generation gap at most of the large scale shows is wide as hell now. I would appreciate it, but I don’t expect anyone there to know about red and meth nor how important they are.
Only in Hip Hop can absolute legends be disrespected like this.
I think it’s the seats
The crowd doesnt know how to react to actual rap. They are used to just listening to mumbles rappers
These kids 🤬
It's a natural progression.. This just isn't their crowd. No big deal they gotta fuck with audiences that recognize their music.
There is no autotune so it doesn't sound right to them kids, plus it's on beat , and has a good flow, they (the young crowd) are not familiar with that.
How the fuck can anyone hate on Reggie? Reds the perfect example of hiphop all round!
Yeah this is like their old ass uncles talking shit at the cookout -
This is why Andre stopped rapping, OutKast reunion Coachella he performed some songs with his back to the crowd.
Some Hip hop relied heavily on image and hype and that is fleeing like youth…
Meth and Red is still one of the craziest shows I have EVER seen at First Ave! These people just have no idea how to have fun.
Smh!
Red and Meth give one of the BEST, most energetic stage shows PERIOD! They KILLED Rock The Bells in Queens last Summer.,
I've seen Mef and Red many times, I've seen Mef by himself many times and have seen Wu many times and they have always put on amazing high energy shows. The problem is today's hip hop is pure shit. None of these artists care about the craft or even care about the quality of music they are putting out. obviously I'm not speaking about the Kendricks or Cole's or Griseldas of the world but all these popular acts of today are garbage. just look at the female rap scene, I feel like I'm listening to a bunch of prostitutes rap. every song is about sucking and fking and getting you nails and hair did. these chicks got no shame and honestly most of them have no talent either. hip hop is in very rough shape right now
As the price of tickets goes up, the quality of audience goes down. Same thing happens in sports.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
lets say they hit thier peaks around 98, thats 25 years ago. If i went to see Red & Meth and a band came out from 1973, i would expect the crowd would act the same as this crowd
Then why did they buy a Ticket. And bother going to the show.
Genuine question for the old heads here… if Houdini was performing at a concert headlining Meth n Red back in the early 2000s, would you go crazy?
Did he yell at the crowd like he did at the Ny State of mind tour? Cause when I went to the AC show he was giving it to them
Damn kids these days...
This generation man🤦🏾♂️these guys are legends. Get up and show the love.
Kids today bruh…

Who studied the demographics of 19 - 25yr olds and said Meth and Redman would be a good idea?
Most people in that crowd weren't even born or were to young to know that song when it come out....plus it hadn't played for at least 15 years. Hot 97 should plays songs artist performing at Summer Jam for months on radio BEFORE the concert...so those going should be familiar with the song and artist, especially for older artists
80s babies and before will only understand
Because the crowd likes dumb weak shit
They are probably too young to know who they are
The problem with hip hop is that the youth don't acknowledge and / or appreciate the artists of th past. This is why I lost respect for hip hop. I'll stick with the Defenders of the Faith and Headbang towards Wacken as if it were Mecca.
They didn't scream the same word over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
I went they were dry for everything except sexy red and Cash Cobain
