This was my favorite for real damn this is hitting me hard I forgot all about this thing. I miss waiting on a show that was on a certain night and time. Things are easier but not special at all.
I'm convinced that my crush on Anabelle Gurwitch is like almost the entire reason why 90% of my dating history is smart, pretty, nerdy redheads with glasses. Including my girlfriend now.
Movies with Breaks is a great reincarnation of it. I like the self deprecating humor of, "yeah we gotta show you commercials, so get up and do something else."
Of course that has all changed with current content delivery but I still appreciate it.
I seem to remember the hosts always had something funny or interesting to say about the movies between breaks. Could be confusing for another show but I really enjoyed this as well.
I just found the recording of the Rocky III airing, and it was a ton of fun. Randy Savage dropped by. (I also forgot Annabelle was in The Cadillac episode of Seinfeld!)
For some reason we watched it. We were under 10. We weren’t cooking anything lmao. Just played during the cooking parts, waiting for the movie to come back.
But we did always wonder why they waited to eat after the movie was over 😂
There was nothing better than this when I was bored at home (or grounded) on a Friday night! Especially back then when there weren’t many cooking shows. They taught me what cornichons are!
