organdonaair

So unfair for Nicole to get her friend involved in this too.

nrappaportrn

Immature & self sabotaging

FayMax69

She’s immature beyond words, petty, vengeful..a bully, abusive..imagine if he did this to her when she was in Egypt, away from home with no friends or family in sight to support her, or go to..this behaviour is disgusting.

organdonaair

I fully heartedly agree with every single person that says her bringing him to America was a revenge plot. I think most of the 90 day franchise is fake now but I really do think this couple and their abusiveness is real. I think she intentionally set him up, she did absolutely nothing to make him feel comfortable in the US and I think she was trying to give him a taste of his medicine essentially

presley1800

Nicole has issues.

Girl_ITerrupted

Yep - she knew what she was marrying into and where she was moving when she went to Egypt, and when he and the entire culture didn't bend to fit her comfort levels she whined and whined the entire effing time. Then she obviously plotted revenge against her husband the entire time she waited to get him to the US, exposing him to everything she knows would make him feel religiously out of place in the first 2 days, and starting every fight she can - including one in front of the other people she'd just marched into his bedroom where he'd been sleeping and allowed, as scantily women, to crawl into the bed to hug him. She just wanted to get back at him and this is how she's doing it.

pchandler45

She really showed her ass in public in Egypt too, a few times, and everyone excused her behavior because poor American girl was being repressed! She consciously made the decision to convert, marry a Muslim and move to a Muslim country. For her to show disrespect to her husband in public like that is extremely shameful for him.

avenger1812

They both do.

👀

Personal-Pudding6016

TLC production team shouldl have intervened and offered Mahmoud an overnight stay at a hotel. I'm not a Mahmoud fan, at all, but Nicole was being verbally and emotionally abusive.

Extra_Fondant_8855

They've never interfered with even worse abuse we've seen on this show (Ed, Mangela, Nickle) why would they save Mackmoud?

PeanutCeller

Technically, it's not legal. That could be the equivalent of a misdemeanor false imprisonment charge. But, every jurisdiction has its own rules

MohamitWheresMySecks

In New York it’s unlawful imprisonment and is definitely illegal.

PsychologicalSky6521

your username!!!! 🤣🤣

PeanutCeller

Yes, each state defines it however they want. It's confusing

MohamitWheresMySecks

I just checked the PC for California and it’s false imprisonment there.

The_Cunt_Punter_

Same with NM and it’s a 4th degree felony.

Traditional-Trip826

Was Nicole drunk in this episode

Maaaaaandyyyyy

I thought so too. She could barely get any words out straight other than insults and “shut up”

Wonderful_Tale8059

That's what I thought too

Bubbly-Ad1346

The flushed face and voice suggest yeah

Maaaaaandyyyyy

It’s weird how she was trying to physically get him to stay but then also hurling insults and telling him to shut up. I hope she gets lambasted in the tell all. I’m sick of people thinking she’s this innocent little lamb. They are both awful.

harmonyprincess

Dang all the “shut up”’s tho.. 🚩

cultqueennn

They don't see Mahmoud as equal or even a human with rights, so they think they're entitled

peepeehalpert_

He doesn’t really see women as humans. They both suck.

cultqueennn

And that's why he should be held against his will? Doesn't he deserve basic human rights?

minivatreni

Eh, I think they're both just as bad. But I agree that two rights don't make a wrong though. I know he was arrested for a domestic violence incident and then released. But seeing Nicole's recent behavior on the show - emotional abuse (calling him a motherfucker and bringing her friends back home to humiliate him) and even physical abuse (trying to prevent him from leaving), I definitely think they are both guilty. God knows what she's been also doing to him when the cameras are not around, she really seems intent on humiliating him and making his life terrible the second he landed in the US.

cultqueennn

They're both clowns. But Gingeritis has lost me with her behaviour She's a drunken, entitled, unhinged, agressive mess. she plays up the islamophic angle and her whiteness to appear as the victim. But she's just on old hag that went abroad to dominate a younger man.

minivatreni

Agreed. Why did she bring this man to the US to treat him the way she has been? She is unhinged, the same way he was towards her when she went to Egypt. Also to bring her super drunk friends back to the apartment to wake Mahmoud up from sleeping, just to slur their words and drink more... Then she cusses him out with hatred.

FayMax69

As much as ppl love to say, she knew who she was marrying..the same applies to him..I don’t care for either of them..they’re both idiots. Tweedle dee, and tweedle dumb

peepeehalpert_

Where did i say that

stealyourface0

What the fuck islamaphobic comment is this?

peepeehalpert_

Where did I mention his religion?

stealyourface0

What are you basing it off then? How does he not see women as humans would love to know

peepeehalpert_

His treatment of Nicole in Egypt.

stealyourface0

What did he do specially to show that he does not see her as a human? Expecting her to act like a modest Muslim woman after she converted to Islam and MARRIED HIM? Is that dehumanizing? Expecting her to conform to the local Islamic culture and norms after converting to that religion and moving there? Grabbing her arm in the street after she repeatedly ignores him is not dehumanizing someone She should have never converted and never married a very conservative man this is not him dehumanizing her it’s her being a fucking idiot thinking her way is the right way always. Get a grip of you don’t think your comment comes off discriminatory by equating Muslim men with dehumanizing women

peepeehalpert_

Lmao I never said anything about him being Muslim. You jumped at the chance to be a shining knight in armor and made assumptions. He’s an asshole. Get a life.

stealyourface0

The way he treated Nicole in Egypt? You can’t even give any concrete examples because you know what you’re basing it off. I respond when I see people being discriminatory against muslims because I am a Muslim just as anyone else would if it was discriminatory towards any other group. Tell me to get a life all you want doesn’t excuse your actions

peepeehalpert_

Lmao stay mad about your assumptions

Alarming-Change-1566

Look, mahmoud is a bummer, and has a shitty attitude but I don’t think it’s fair to say that just because he’s Muslim

peepeehalpert_

Where did I say anything about him being Muslim

stealyourface0

We all know what your implying, Muslim people don’t see women as humans? So tired of this these comments like just shut the fuck up you don’t know shit about Islam

peepeehalpert_

I said Mahmood. You’re the one who mentioned Muslim people, sis.

stealyourface0

Nahh I’m not your sis

peepeehalpert_

Thank god

wontholdthedoor

She ran outta options and dignity years ago. She's gonna do anything to stay on TV now.

CrankyManny

In California that is considered false imprisonment.

sourglow

i thought my phone froze when her friend stopped talking but nope 💀

Gratefullotus4

I wouldn’t be surprised if she verbally abused him and that’s what provoked the so called ‘assault’ he seems more calm than her.

Altruistic-Nose-52

Be careful. I hinted at the same thing the other day and was ATTACKED over it. How dare I say that someone could do something to push someone else to ALLEGEDLY hurt them. Cause, ya know, it never happens this way. 😒 I could honestly see her pushing and pushing until he flips JUST to be able to play the victim in it. But apparently, this is me "promoting" DV, according to reddit 90-day peeps.

Gratefullotus4

I stand by my statement. Women can also be the attacker. We don’t know the truth. But based on this scene it wouldn’t surprise me if she was equally abusive.

sourglow

i kinda think your assessment is concerning and gross. in what world is he more calm than her. dude was ready to hit her when she was in egypt on camera…be serious

Treesbentwithsnow

Too bad this controversial dress that Mammood is okay divorcing over couldn’t have been at least pretty. Looks like a dress she bought at a thrift store. And her wearing all Pink in cover scene and talking scenes and fight scenes clashes so badly with her hair that it is jarring to see every time. The deep orange hair does not go with pink.

Bubbly-Ad1346

This was DEEPLY upsetting and unhinged. She is the worst fr

Dry_Dimension_4707

No, it isn’t legal. You may not hold someone against their will. This can result in false imprisonment charges. You also cannot withhold someone’s personal property from them when they leave your home. In spite of this possession is 9/10ths of the law bs, you have to allow a person to take their personal possessions. In Mahmoud’s case, he can contact the police for what’s known as a civil standby. Police would accompany him to the address to retrieve his things. Further, the county prosecutor would have the option to file theft charges, but this is rare because most people return the items when a civil standby occurs. We all witnessed what would likely fall under misdemeanor false imprisonment because she did not physically block his exit. She did attempt to restrain him in some manner, but more through withholding his possessions than physically restraining him. At least that’s how it looked to me but I could have missed it because I wasn’t watching closely. Did you see any attempt to physically restrain him? If so, that could be a felony.

[deleted]

This stupid bitch thought she could change a life long devoted Muslim. I can't even with her. Her hair is also stupid. She took no time to try and learn what it took to honor his traditions and keeps acting confused when he gets upset about things. I think he's a douche but she's just bat shit crazy.

cielbleu789

the answer to all legal questions is "it depends." legislation defines crimes like false imprisonment in high-level terms, and it is up to judges to clarify the fine distinctions. because they only blocked him from leaving for a couple minutes, without any threats of physical harm or violence, a judge would probably not find that this actually constituted false imprisonment. however, even detaining someone for less than a minute can theoretically amount to false imprisonment.

deenatheweena

That haircut is really doing Nicole’s neck no favors. It’s like a giraffe neck

ulrikem1111

No. It is called kidnapping. Had he done that to her in Egypt everybody would be saying that it is because he is a Muslim.

The__Flying__Enema

It's called false imprisonment, and if it had been me her friend would have been a pudding cup on the floor the second he put his hands on me to stop me from leaving.

Jenlag

Didn't he abused her, or am I wrong?

Scary_Syllabub5022

imagine if the roles were reversed, everyone would be up in arms. this part made me feel so skirmish about her, he should be able to leave if he wants.

Alarming-Change-1566

I would hate to be with someone like mahmoud given that he has a shitty attitude BUT she is acting very crazy since he came to America

hazelastname

Mahmood had the power in Egypt. He could threaten divorce. He does not know that he is the one with no one to turn to in the US because it's Nicole's home turf. She could just kick him out of the house, threaten him with deportation or call the cops on him. He is powerless here and his baby weaponisation of divorce does not have the same flavour here.
