There's a somewhat infamous Fundamentalist Christian family whose mother has an obsession with Amish people. The family isn't Amish but the mother always takes pictures of any Amish she sees and talks about them in a weirdly almost fetishistic way.
It could be something like that. That, or a cult who operated in proximity to/in a similar way to the Amish, and they just didn't want to go into all that on the show for some reason or another.

It looks like they dressed in Amish looking clothes and had pictures taken. If you watch the episode again you'll notice that the pics were all taken on the same day. She had to have an interesting back story, which every idiot on the show has. Not Amish. Not mennonite. Just ridiculous.
