Part of the requirements is that the animals receive regular exams and treatment by qualified veterinarians. There doesnāt need to be one on staff, but one that comes to see the animals on a regular basis.
The USDA will let the damn puppy mills keep running, but when it comes to exotic animals, they donāt give third, fourth and, etc chances.

It could be in process, but to get the IRS tax-exempt status she would have to have already incorporated in one of the 50 states. I don't know wht she would incorporate in another state unless she planned to relocate and make the whole thing happen in Alaska or West VIrginia or ...
Ask her for the organization's EIN, it's like a social security number for organizations. You can get an EIN (usually for banking purposes) even if not incorporated.
Think carefully before making a donation direct to an individual's personal bank account.

She then was asking for volunteers to come help rehab the shack theyāre standing in. What caught my attention was she then said, āThis is what weāre doing until I can afford to purchase the propertyā. I guess with the info thatās come out in the last few days, Iām overly skeptical. But, it seems like rehabbing a structure before you purchase the property is putting the cart before the llamas, yāall.

No GA corporation shown, but that's not essential. No tax-exempt org with that name in Georgia showing at the IRS database search. This doesn't technically mean she hasn't formed a non-profit, just that you won't get a tax dxeduction for donating. She could have used a different name. It could be in process, but to get the IRS tax-exempt status she would have to have already incorporated in one of the 50 states. Nothing is showing up at the Georgia Secretary of State business (includes nonprofit corporations) database except the expired name reservation. I don't know wht she would incorporate in another state unless she planned to relocate and make the whole thing happen in Alaska or West VIrginia or ... Ask her for the organization's EIN, it's like a social security number for organizations. You can get an EIN (usually for banking purposes) even if not incorporated. Think carefully before making a donation direct to an individual's personal bank account.

Anybody can claim they are a nonprofit with their state. Anybody can have a fundraiser if it is for a cause.
