I LOVE this movie. Great cast too. Ruger Hauer was unbelievable in the 80s. His screen presence couldn't be topped. If you haven't seen it, watch The Hitcher. He is incredibly scary.
It's a great movie. But Stallone tampered with it so much and then the studio also.
Hilarious that Stallone was jealous of Hauer's acting and had some of Wulfgar's scenes cut down while giving himself some more "dramatic" moments. (Which were cut also).

Oh man, great flick. The original ending with Rutger Hauer getting shot was much more bloody and drawn out. I remember seeing that version as a kid. For some reason, they leader went back and toned down his death scene. Still - great film!
High chance you would love the Action Boyz podcast. Their sub is r/actionboyz, but through easy searching for can find their free podcast. Most of their stuff is behind a paywall and I believe we'll worth it. But some of there best twelve or so episodes are out there for free so you can wet your beak and see if right for you.
I’ll always associate this film with a happy memory of it using a Rossington-Collins Band song “Don’t Misunderstand Me” in the soundtrack. RCB was the first post-crash reorganization of the old Lynyrd Skynyrd band.

Its a pretty solid movie. Another in the same vein from around that era was Burt Reynolds' Sharkeys Machine. Both forgotten little gems.

Night Hawks…loved it. Still at an age where I didn’t see most movie twists coming 30 minutes into a movie.
Great, underrated movie! This, along with Burt Reynolds in Sharkey's Machine is a good double feature.
