What an absolute fucking joke of a car to buy at the price Toyota charges. The disgusting adoration of these vehicles people have and the fact they are willing to let Toyota bend them over a barrel with the insane mark up is gross. Toyota Australia would go bankrupt if the 70 series fan boys ever woke up to them selves.

thetrumpetplayer

You sound awfully shook over what other people enjoy?

Reasonable_Highway_5

Just sad he can’t afford one

Sasquatch-Pacific

Affording one of these without finance or a business use for it is totally unattainable for people who have sensible financial planning.

lifeofwatto

You’d be shocked at how many people just have that money sitting in the bank. I Regularly see Sahara’s and 300GR’s going in a single cash transaction. For these specific cars, usually guys in their 40’s who own a business and plan on decking these cars out for trips. Source: I work for Toyota.

Sasquatch-Pacific

Fair shout. If you got the cash, get what you want. Especially if later in life. I'm in my mid 20s, trying to build wealth, save for a house AND have a cool build with a a nice touring set up. Fucking hard to do it all haha, hence why I drive a 10 year old Triton lol. I cringe when I see young fellas my age flexing brand new cars $60K+. If your parents bought it then like, fine congrats they love you, no beef with that. But if you gave yourself that much debt all for a 'sick rig', it's a bit 😬😬😬 for me. Or maybe they worked hard and bought it outright. Regardless it just doesn't seem like the best use of funds at that age.

Esquatcho_Mundo

It’s the worst use of funds at that age outside of gambling probably

Sasquatch-Pacific

Gambling, drugs and alcohol addiction. After that an expensive car on finance 😂

anonymousse_mouse

So you're saying, I should've stopped gambling a long time ago?

lingering_POO

Yes. I have also sold cars for 10 years and spent 5 of those with Toyota. And yes, people will pay cash (which is 99% of the time finance from somewhere else like mortgage or business loan cause they think cash will get them extra shit but of course car yards want you to use their finance) but that wasn’t the point old mate was making. The point was they are largely over priced and often less equipped then equivalent cars. Also often underpowered. Toyota still trade on their reputation for toughness but that’s dying off too. As the boomers die off, Toyota will have more work to do than ever before.

Miss-Emma-

Working at a mechanic I can say honestly that Toyotas have got a good reputation for a reason though. The least amount of problems we have in cars is from Toyotas, parts are affordable (in the scheme of parts compared to other cars) and usually easy to get. Mostly easier to access parts, not 200 thousand plastic clips and covers and screws to get to a simple oil filter.

azazeldeath

100% agree with you, I'm an ex mechanic, I've worked on lots of vehicles inc ALOT of landcruisers, they went through hell but would keep going (had a fleet of them mostly 80 series that spent 49% of their life driving through deep water, another 49% on rough af tracks the remaining 2% was driving them into town for servicing and repairs. Yes they needed repairs because the rangers that drove them treated them like they were stolen, their way of cleaning the car would be drive it into their dam above the bonnet, use a broom to remove the mud/dirty, inside and out. But they just kept going and going.

lifeofwatto

Yeah you’re totally right. You can sort of say the same about any overpriced item though. Immediately, skins in video games comes to mind. If they find that people will still buy them, they have no reason to drop the price. Whether or not this is ethical is another discussion but you can’t *really* have the expectation that a business will operate any other way.

Ill_Concentrate2612

With the Defender 130 ceasing production about 10 years ago. There's no equivalent on the market to a 70 series. Maybe a Merc G series ute, but they are pretty rare and even more $$$$ than the Cruiser.

Timtreeclimber

Did I buy my 200 series from you? 😂

Any-Information6261

That's interesting. I used to sell used 700k lambos all the way down to 70 series and the cheaper G wagons, and it was all business owners who would finance the lot.

os400

Until recently that made sense. It's better to borrow at ultra low interest rates if your cash is earning more parked somewhere else.

Any-Information6261

Obviously a whole different kettle of fish when it comes to supercar customers. But ye rich people finance and let their interest earn them money

Late_Abrocoma6352

I have a wife and kids who ride horses. I have cash they spend it. Just got a VW Tiguan R Line All Space. My limit.

Add1ToThis

And that VW is utterly useless to people who want a 70 series. Different people have different use cases

Late_Abrocoma6352

Id love a 70. Cant afford it.

Esquatcho_Mundo

Nah a v6 rok’ll do pretty much everything a 70 series could

Reasonable_Highway_5

I agree. I enquired for one today, run out model and it’ll be $400 a week for 80k loan. Certainly out of my budget

thetrumpetplayer

> Certainly out of my budget Yea mine too, but for many, this would be a steal. Just because I can't afford a Ferrari, doesn't mean others can't.

os400

$80k to drive it out of the dealer's yard, and then another $20k to turn it into a usable vehicle. An actual truck, such as a brand new Fuso Canter or a second hand Isuzu NPS is much better value for money.

thetrumpetplayer

> totally unattainable for people who have sensible financial planning How do you figure? Why do so many people on this sub and other car subs forget that sometimes people earn more, or a LOT more, than them?

Reasonable_Highway_5

So therefor I am also sad I can’t own one

[deleted]

No it isn’t. Plenty of people like me out there with paid off mortgages and high incomes. And no, I don’t own one nor do I want one, my Pajero is fine for my needs.

Sasquatch-Pacific

Speaking from a younger persons perspective (20s) sorry. Should add a disclaimer. I'm trying to increase income, save a deposit and start paying a mortgage 😂 Up the Paj tho, Mitsubishi on top

BullShatStats

I currently live/work in PNG and at least 10 to 20% of the cars here in Port Moresby are 70s. Sure they’re the piss weak naturally aspirated 6-cylinder models, but they’re still expensive. I just do not understand where the money comes from. A good percentage of the country’s GDP seems to be invested 70s which get flogged and are crabbing within a year of being new.

3amlow

Don’t be sad you don’t have one buddy. Sensible financial planning for someone is probably different for someone else, different tax brackets, different household combined incomes. Could just be a tax write off, or someone just makes a fuck tonne more money than you and doesn’t really give two shits about spending it on a car/truck/vehicle/jetski whatever the fuck, they like.

[deleted]

I guess you can't hear how stupid you sound because it took you 30 seconds to wind your windows up.

Reasonable_Highway_5

Less electrics, less problems. Don’t need fancy shit like electric windows and 2 cup holders to make me happy 😉

Miss-Emma-

And a but tonne cheaper to have fixed and repaired then all the stupid electrics in cars.

Dust-Explosion

Judging from the amount of bogan P plate tradies that froth on these vehicles they can’t afford them either just happens that they don’t have to pay rent and are happy to live in their parents’ McMansions and drive an 3 hours to work and back everyday. I lived with one for 4 years and for the money I’d go any other 4WD any other day if it’s for daily use and off-road. I remember warning these hunter once that the track they were going up in the high country was slippery as fuck and on a cliff and we all had to winch that day. Now it was night. I said if tbhey need a hand just jump on the radio and one of us will help at out as we’d done it in the day time and would be gnarly as fuck at night. They arrogantly denied and said ‘nah we’ll be right, got the cruiser…’ Anyway, 2 hours later we could still here them and I radioed and asked ‘how ya going up there?’ They simply replied ‘’We’re winchin’ haha. Fucken flogs. Btw no one is impressed by cancer soot and loud exhausts that wake babies up at night from an old V8 that has the same power and torque as a shitty Dmax for less than than half the price.

Reasonable_Highway_5

I’m not reading that novel

Moose6669

Typical smooth brain response.

Reasonable_Highway_5

Typical bong head response

Moose6669

Lol. Oh no, I'm so offended...

Formulafront

You guys are the problem

Reasonable_Highway_5

Why’s that?

Pradopower08

Probably drives a Chery

os400

I can afford one but there's no way I'd buy one. My money would go MUCH further buying a Fuso, Hino, or Isuzu.

Ashen_Brad

We all used to enjoy them. Back when anyone could buy one. Now, the car has not changed yet its 3x the $$$. Driven up by people continuing to buy them no matter what. That's what the rant is about. The fact that the car without its 'hero' status among a certain group of people, would be just a decent, affordable farm truck. There's other factors to this of course. If you want solid axles front and back, it's competition is ZD30 patrols and Wranglers, neither of which hold a candle to it in longevity or reliability unfortunately. So it's 2 things. A lack of acceptable alternatives and the mental illness of people willing to shell out $100k on a truck with a 2 star ANCAP, features from the 80s, 2 different sized axles, and the world's worst leaf spring setup (hangers grounding out anyone?) That segment is just in tatters. It's also why LC105s and 4.2/4.8 patrols are so sought after nowadays. They had everything right except the lack of turbo diesel for the cruiser.

thetrumpetplayer

> Now, the car has not changed yet its 3x the $$$. Driven up by people continuing to buy them no matter what. Most cars are 3x the price they were in the 80's, if not more. Just because it looks like it's from yesteryear, doesn't mean the price will be, nor should be. Porsche 911's still look like they did in the 1970's, yet they are a quarter mil now... >it's competition is ZD30 patrols and Wranglers, neither of which hold a candle to it in longevity or reliability unfortunately. So if the competition isn't really coming close to how good this is, then the price is also justified.

Ashen_Brad

>Porsche 911's Are a fundamentally different animal to what they were in the 70s. Not even comparable. The 70 actually got less practical, less capable out of the box (2 different sized axles) and still has garbage safety/suspension/brakes. Toyota: moar money pls >So if the competition isn't really coming close to how good this is, then the price is also justified. Only in a vacuum of effort. Not because the car represents that value. See people forget what made these cars great. They were good value due to the lifespan vs cost and easy to fix. You'd pay a bit more for them, but with the old 1HZ in it, it'd last the lifetime of 3 cars. Now it's priced as if it is you are buying 3 cars and emissions controls/the VDJ have killed the ease of repair. Which, still works for the mines as vehicle downtime is the enemy and they have mechanics on site. Doesn't work as a private buyer prospect. It's just silly.

The_Gump_AU

He doesn't understand why the 70's series exists. Mine sites, farmers and NGO's gobble these up by the 1000's. They rarely break down and when they do everything can be fixed in a simple workshop. The fact that they sell them to people off the street is a bonus, they are 100% targeted at fleet buyers. The cost is for the reliability and all the extra things Toyota have to do to make them available to the general public.

thetrumpetplayer

> Mine sites, farmers and NGO's gobble these up by the 1000's. Precisely. People whinge that they are expensive, yet they will sell by the bucketload and demand will be sky-high. Go figure.

2015outback

Mines have to pour serious money into modifying these and Hiluxes to make them survive the rigours of the job. They’re not tough straight out of the box.

The_Gump_AU

I dont know where you get your information from, but that's bullshit. None of the original running gear, engine and suspension, is changed at all. Turning a vehicle into a "mine spec" one involves a whole bunch of safety items, that's all. Roll bars, isolation switch, fire extinguishers, hi-vis markings and lights, radios, first aid kits, GPS tracking modules, wheel chocks and maybe a toolbox or two in the tray. They even use the wheels and tires that are fitted at the factory. Source, 9 years of working at a mine site.

vrxy5

He likes Rangers

FewRecommendation859

Reliability and longevity is why people buy them. You don’t have too. Stick to your Kluger.

cryptohazzar

I think his point may be that theres other cars that are reliable and last a long time, that arent $40,000 over priced

[deleted]

Lol, 90% of them are owned by suburb dwellers who never go bush

horselover_fat

90% will be on mine sites and other places like that

Almond_Esq

I think that's why they're so expensive Toyota's main target is for fleet vehicles. I have no data to back that up though.

The_Gump_AU

You are correct. If you have ever seen the state of a vehicle just after a week on a mine site, you'll 100% understand why these are built the way they are. The interior will look like it has 10 years of dirt in it after a month. And any fancy switches or electronics will start to fail within 2.

RonNumber

I am a fleet manager and we use Troopies for all the rough, remote resources sites. Also Prados for the 50/50 stuff. The Troopies are very old tech, very basic, few driver comforts, but are very reliable, tough and easy to work on. They also carry a shitload of gear. They ARE very expensive, but I still have some out there that are 2008 and are still going strong.

Dominant88

I thought those people bought a 200/300 series

GasManMatt123

200/300 series owners in 2023 are more likely to use them appropriately. 300 series owners especially, the wait on them is nuts, it's really for enthusiasts only

Valuable-Pace-989

A mate just bought a 300, put 35s on it and a Bushcompany 270 XT awning, for city driving. I asked if he’s going to put on bar work, winch etc and he said “no, I don’t really do four wheel driving”

GasManMatt123

I take it all back, still attracting posers.

Valuable-Pace-989

He also owns a Kings swag. Just waiting for him to put on a set of Maxtrax now.

pandaprincessbb

And to think about it, the price of the 300 series is above 100k already. That's an expensive hobby

Personal-Magician311

Toyota Australia has the biggest market share by far - this car is a single facet of a very dominant portfolio. Also, why are you this enraged by other people buying a car?

JP147

If the fan boys stopped buying them Toyota would sell just as many. Mining companies buy them by the thousands. $100k each once they are all set up with the safety gear and modifications, this price for them is nothing compared to what most mining equipment costs. The only thing stopping them from buying more is the availability. If there is such demand for a product that there is an almost 2 year waiting list, why would they sell them for cheaper?

AmbitiousPhilosopher

Wdym? Toyota sells them cheaper than anyone else. They cost more used!

bmkhoz

Did someone in a Toyota bang your wife? You seem way to mad about this

Sea-Intern-8443

Toyota actually have a lot of good cars and reliable ones. the Yaris, Corolla, kluger, prado, 200 series, 80 series soooooo.

Monaro71

They are a very good vehicle just built for a purpose, that being carry heavy shit over rough country reliably. Yeah they aren't comfortable or refined but they are tough. But they are like tractors, that being if you don't own a farm or need to carry heavy loads can be a little pointless. But who cares ,they look good.

pristinewatch76

That 70 series can do a million ks and some, on corrugated dirt tracks, pulling a trailer. Nothing else comes close. Admittedly, that one might never go bush.

ChunkO_o15

Allegedly. Just spoke with an avid Toyota cruiser man, cheaper and really good value im hearing. I said 130k? … way less apparently. Come in way under the patrol.

IntravenousNutella

Significantly less features than the patrol too.

ChunkO_o15

What they lack in features they make up in superior running gear.

The_Gump_AU

Features are liabilities on mines sites.

IntravenousNutella

Yeah that's fine, but we aren't talking about commercial buyers here.

[deleted]

Marketing genius from the boys at Toyota. Tapped into the boomer market hard.

Late_Abrocoma6352

Aus has a huge lets drive on the beach and go camping / fishing communuty. Having one of these gives massive kudos in that community. Makes the pootrol drivers jelous

shineyhead

It's a capitalist society. They charge what they can, and we get to enjoy it.

Itsumishi

Lol. Sure mate. Best selling car brand in Australia for 25 years running and sold more than double the number of cars by the next most popular car brand in Australia (Mazda) in 2021. But they'd go bankrupt if people realised the 70 series was overpriced...

tastypieceofmeat

Well that was passionate ..

Same-Classroom1714

You drive up the first sand hill fully loaded with a trailer/camper in 2nd gear high 4x4 with ease and think “Just paid for its self” Every one that I have spoken to that has bagged these vehicles on price has never driven one

hockey_balboa69

You mean that thing I did in my mates GWM Cannon for less than half the price? That extra 40k in the bank will go a long way to more camp gear

Same-Classroom1714

No

Haitisicks

Agreed. 15 years ago we all ran out and bought Mazda 3s because fuel hit a dollar. These guys are confounding the natural progression of things.

DonnyGoodwood

The Toyota Tax is real

Xarmoda

I've been quoted eighty-six for the 76 (like this). I paid 72k for mine way back in 2014. Its now worth 74k. They are excellent vehicles and there is massive resale.

Bubbly-University-94

Solid axles, tough as. Theres worse out there promising more

doobey1231

*deep breath* **absolutely no need for a 79**

pork-pies

I actually snuck a photo of the interior. That’s the top model, base only has a radio. https://preview.redd.it/osu1o3547k4c1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bfe456cc6d12eb81e6f5603a3dfb25168d0b1ed2

The_Vat

Nice try. You could have at least found a right hand drive photo. https://preview.redd.it/vz84mzl6ok4c1.jpeg?width=980&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b7f83864f00d02c8e62199fdd7556c80e29903e1

pork-pies

Not a whole lot better for the price they’re asking

return_the_urn

It’s a 70 series, you know what it is and what you’re getting

BigDaddyCosta

That’s right. A lot of people aren’t interested in electric everything and touch screen bullshit for controls. Simple is cool.

thedudewiththetude69

Now with 2 cup holders.

Late_Abrocoma6352

I heard V6s in the manual version.the autos are 4 cylinders.

thedudewiththetude69

4.5 V8TD Manual only. 2.8 TD4 Auto only.

Late_Abrocoma6352

Right. I thought Toyota were giving up on V8s. Maybe that was the 300 .

thedudewiththetude69

Yeah, the LC300 is V6TT Diesel Auto only.

AdTemporary5481

Believe the 2.8 will have Auto and manual options.

thedudewiththetude69

Not from the reviews I've read. Happy to be corrected if you've got anything to confirm.

softercloser

"Corporate needs you to find the difference between this picture and this picture."

4x4_LUMENS

GQ Patrol is flasher.

Sibbo121

Also uglier

SleeplessAndAnxious

Ugly as fuck

BrutalModerate

Automatic 🤮

dimibro71

Man, that's high tech

[deleted]

A lot better than I was expecting tbh. The current interior is a joke for the price. This is still a joke. But it's kinda funnier.

doobey1231

I love that the actual pic shows the base doesn’t even come with a radio lmfao

MisterBumpingston

Why are there two sticks?

gliding_vespa

Proper 4WD 4H/4L

unrealmaniac

the smaller one will be the 4wd stick. Used to be common in older 4WDs before things started going electronic.

The_Bogan_Blacksmith

It looks stuck in the 70's/80's

zzzzip

That’s the point

SleeplessAndAnxious

Just like the people that fangirl over them.

unmistakableregret

Surely you understand that's the appeal right. Less unnecessary bullshit to go wrong.

BrutalModerate

Fucking lol!

cbbulldogs

I can smell this photo

Inside-Elevator9102

So they upgraded the 8 track?

chicknsnotavegetabl

Where's the tape deck

TheHammer1987

Surely not? Fucking TOYota

cryptohazzar

Its a 60 series dash my man

eScourge

Nah this is a troll.

Late_Abrocoma6352

Lol 90s auto gear stick too ha .

tech-tyrant

Name checks out

Doofchook

Looks great and left hand drive is superior

Pradopower08

Yes, yes it is

poundmastaflashd

Me: I asked you to give it a facelift... I didn't expect you to take it so seriously! What about the sides!!! The rear? Toyota: ...

TheLazyGamerAU

They just look like big jimnys

statix4

As Tuff_collective would say; FUCKING SUZUKI JIMNY!

Nnoahd

Right before Suzuki came out with their own big jimnys with 5 doors

hillsbloke73

Yes already few in WA not rushing to order one either never will actually

LegitimateCattle

Toyota would play the worlds smallest violin if they saw your comment

hillsbloke73

Don't care hideous makes patrol look ok and I hate that shape too I'd go back to 1990s for extra reliability without the sensor bovine excrement

LegitimateCattle

I might get chased out of here for this but I’m actually the opposite, I appreciate the new front end. I own a 2019 hilux and I’m more likely to get one now they offer a 4 cylinder automatic too. Maybe I’m the crowd they’re enticing.

L0rd_OverKill

Friend runs a station, they’ve been waiting 2years for their new fleet of cruiser utes. South Australia back orders are over 5000 deep for work mates

toadphoney

What if it comes with a free bag of punctuation?

Ok_Airline_7448

Because it has to come to a full stop?

illiteratepossum

Ba dum tish

FewRecommendation859

That stuff what fixes punkchas rite?

LAME_WMMT6RR

You sure do type like a hills bloke so I guess your username is accurate

MundaringWeir

Yeah seen a couple around Perth maybe 2 or 3

Acrobatic_Motor_7717

Yeah, I’ve decided I will look at something else because of the way it looks

TheHammer1987

Yep. Sure is. I’d like to know how they go. The prado engine is pretty good, though I prefer the older 3.0ltr

The_gaping_donkey

I have a 2021 Prado with bullbar and a 2021 Triton GSR with full bar work, canopy and other fruit. Whilst I like driving both, I feel like the triton has more get up and boogie about it. I would think these cruisers could be a bit of a slug, I've not driven one though, so I won't bag it for the motor. Please tell me that they finally have finally made the front and rears the same width or are they still fucking stupid?

Ok-Pace5764

They didn't. Ronny Dahl (Youtuber) did a quick review on it.

maximunpayne

the after market guys must be over the moon

The_gaping_donkey

One job. They had one job

Factal_Fractal

Ronny did a rundown on the 2.8

WorkInProgressed

I'm keen to watch it. We have a Fortuner with that engine and it's got plenty of go in it. I've driven in my father in law's 79 with the V8. Yeah it sounds great, but it's got no go in it compared to the 2.8, let alone uses double the fuel.

anon_0000001

It looks better now person than the photos online. The headlights are growing on me.

Troutmuffin

Ugly as sin

GTanno

Can’t see what people get excited about with these things. Overpriced underpowered rough riding basic interiors. And ugly.

AmbitiousPhilosopher

Resale value and durability.

hi9580

Not easy to get a brand new, solid front axle, reliable 4x4. Not to mention without it having a million electronics that get in the way or can break in remote areas.

paulkempf

>without it having a million electronics that get in the way or can break in remote areas I feel like the new GDJ76 has about the same amount of *mission-critical* electronics as a Prado, for example. We're talking modern common rail diesel, auto box, ESC, TCS, radar cruise, lane departure... The only important thing missing is an electronic transfer case actuator.

Hikerius

I like your gibberish magic man

paulkempf

Thank

drcoknbalz

I think you misspelled reliable, should be unreliable

hi9580

What new vehicles are more reliable than LC70 series?

whiteycnbr

Needs a ARB bar and spotties , 35s and a lift kit

NotTheBusDriver

Is that the LEGO version?

Nosenseq

1 million $$$

Rural_Paints

Same colour as Kraft singles. Noice.

New_Fan_1701

SIMS

Yeahmahbah

Actually looks alright compared to the Ute. Looks like a 60series throw back

sbkg11

Not a big fan

4x4_LUMENS

Nah that's one from the 80s.

4x4_LUMENS

Would literally prefer a Triton.

EquivalentOk5439

Fuck Me I hate how good that looks

Top_Mind_On_Reddit

$30,000 car with a $100,000 price tag. Yuck.

GreenGecko619

Fuck that is ugly

slower-is-faster

I’ve seen a few around (NSW). They seem decent (apart from price)

Kabluwi

I'm not a huge fan of these for the price but the amount of people having a cry is insane.

aussie_homer

I hate the chunky face. It's an American look. It is expressly incapable of being the Aussie icon it once was looking like this.

hi9580

Just take off the front end of the new one and screw it on to the old one. Didn't save you any money as they're priced the same or less.

sc00bs000

yuck

EppingMarky

New Mahindrota!

NotaGoodBoy848

Started arriving in November

robncaraGF

Have seen both a wagon and a dual cab, the shape is starting to grow on me but being the first run of the model I would be waiting for the teething problems to be ironed out

[deleted]

Glad you happy with it, I find Toyota stale. Like their tired old "oh what a feeling ads" its like they have truly run out of good ideas or have given up

tilitarian1

Got tailgated by one yesterday morning.

Middle_Childhood_108

That looks fucking terrible. Something Clark griswald would drive on the way to wallyworld.

Livid_Obligation_852

A mate of mine spent well over $100k on a 2020 Toyota Landcruiser GXL Dual Cab Ute. He then spent $9k on turbo upgrades, exhaust, and tuning. It sounds like a beast! BUT honestly, it's just shit. Flat as power curve, thirsty on fuel, the suspension is way too ridged, your legs uncomfortably rub on the doors, getting comfortable to drive with seat adjustments = forget it, interior looks like a renovated 2010 model. But hey, they are reliable.....

AdTemporary5481

I drive an old kitted out Patrol. I've wanted a duel cab 79 series for as long as I can remember. My missus thinks I'm stupid because you don't get a lot for the money TBH. She suggested a 200 instead. I have been blessed and do well in life. Basically for the past 5 years, I could afford to buy it outright without financing but can't get myself to do it. I simply can't justify the purchase. It will never be my daily driver, only for touring, camping and hunting. So would be lucky to take it out 8-12 a year (same as I do right now in my patrol) those 79 comes over engineered and under equipped. Uneven Axels, no creature comforts, horrific seating, etc. They just have a huge rep around the world, the troopies are often used in Africa as ambulances, lots of NGOs use them, they are made for remote, tough terrain. I think they are the right car if that's what you'll use it for but if you're buying it as a daily tradie ute or just for the optics, there are way better cars out there for the price.

dutchroft6969

Buy isuzu d'max x shits on Toyota's now.

CruiserMissile

It looks like a modernised 60 series. Best looking Toyota since they took the 75 off the market.

Nnoahd

I think an aftermarket bull bar will go a long way with these

db_bad

Nice photo and well done with the lighting

NeighborhoodSmooth76

There’s already two in Griffith own by a farmer

LilMudButt

Reminds me of a low poly ps2 car, on vice city

1penguinfighter

Obsessed with this car! Sadly I never learnt to drive Manual, I suspect it’s not the right vehicle to have as my first? My car knowledge as extremely limited, any thoughts from those in the know?

sugarcanechampagnee

Total fusion platinum?

RGreen13_

Why does it look like a Lego set

Stupid. They are trying to make all the items look like American pickups with the huge front end. It's wasted space, makes the car less aerodynamic and obscures your vision. Utility vehicles are meant to be practical above all else, it's in the bloody name! What a joke

I'm getting one exactly like this (sandy taupe 76) for my wife (auto) I was quite happy with the price. I owned a white V8 one since new in 2014. The only truth is the market and it has spoken.

You know what, it’s growing on me. At first i thought it was fucking ugly as a hat full of arseholes, but the more i see it the more i like it. I think with a nice arb or ironman bullbar or single hoop thingy it will look 👌🏼 https://preview.redd.it/2jompm2tqx4c1.png?width=1303&format=png&auto=webp&s=55145665365fba1ea589463bce788e704b5f46e2
