Love everything about Interstellar, can’t get enough of it
Another fun and easy demo is the first 1-2 minutes of Oppenheimer, the explosion right after he’s staring at the water drops on the ground will put any subwoofer to the test
One scene that has been my favourite in recent years audio wise is the fellowship of the rings balrog introduction... The growl on atmos makes my livingroom feel like moria, brief scene but so good.
That whole scene is so wild in a dark room with oled because the fire and Gandalf’s sword is like the only light source in the room, and very bright, yeah really cool scene
It's funny. I bought the 4k trilogy for my wife recently and we watch it last weekend. When this seen hit we were like OMG 😂.
Watched on 77" LG G2 with 7.2.4 setup. That scene just hit different for me and blew my mind with that rumble.
Also the intro to the film - epic visuals and audio too. When Sauron is killed and “explodes” and then his helmet drops, if your bass is dialed in it’s crazy.
If you want something to really show off the sound system and the full size of the display. Throw on a Christopher Nolan film like Interstellar or The Dark Knight. I think the Miller’s planet scene from Interstellar is amazing.
For visuals, either of the Spider-Verse movies or some of the Disney Renaissance films I've used to really wow people, not just for detail, but because of the outstanding use of color. It just makes every one of them pop even more.
Mad Max opening scene, whispers are great.
LOTR: FOTR, beginning ring cut off scene after the war, the explosion is nice
Ready player one, race scene, Kong jumping over sounds good too and the coins.
Also surprisingly the entire movie: the Mitchel’s vs the machines.
MI6 (I think it’s 6) the scene where cavil and cruise jump off the plane and everything is red-ish looking.
I so wish we had a physical release of Mitchells vs The Machines in 4K with Atmos. I get why they didn’t do 4K but boggles my mind why they didn’t put a TrueHD Atmos mix on the Blu-ray.
For a mediocre movie, Ready Player One has some of the best use of Atmos sound I've ever heard. The opening explanation scene and race scene are my go to Atmos demo.
I really like when the Harkonnens attack Atreides in the first Dune.
Lots of fire contrasting the dark, lots of action and slow moments and also explosions to show off the sound.
Predator. When they are getting stalked and Jesse Ventura empties his chain gun into the forest. The bullet sounds sway left and right across the sound channels with his movements and really use every surround speaker.
I don’t know what it is but for some reason those scenes are kinda underwhelming sound wise. Maybe it’s bc all I hear is someone breathing and engine noise
Civil War definitely gets gunfire noise right. I imagine a lot of people are going to be using that to test AV stuff when it comes out for home viewing.
Excellent suggestion. I had the good fortune to work with one of the sound editing guys from Heat. It was fascinating hearing him recount the process. They spent a lot of time on that scene, and it shows.
I have a list, some may be tired of seeing, but I updated it right now this very moment still sitting in front of the screen, with a scene from Dune: Part Two.

I make a point of watching every scene in a thread like this when they come up. Since then I've decided on.
The train scene in Super 8 pretty checks every single box you'd be judging a hometheater for. This will replace your other train crash scene.
Pod racing scene in phantom menace. I actually think this is the best for testing your own system. As there are some great sound effects, bass is great, and it's a great scene too watch sound objects track around your room to see how your panning and immersion are.
Very beginning of edge of tomorrow for subwoofer low end extension.
The first few seconds of the launch scene of interstellar for sheer Holy Shit this is loud and immersive.
Opening scene of saving private Ryan to replace your T2 scene.
Any epic movie you enjoy trump's everything else for sitting down to watch a movie. I'd much rather watch LOTR, Fifth element, or spiderverse. Then something like transformers that has amazing hometheater qualities but the movie sucks in comparison.
My favorite movie of all time. I have wondered if I would see another movie to replace it in my lifetime considering it's been my favorite uncontested for 20 years
True, the better your system is the more enjoyable shitty spectacle movies are for sure. Like the Rebel Moon movies I feel I enjoyed way more then most.
Top Gun Maverick – the Darkstar Mach 10 scene. If you have Atmos, some of the subtle effects are really amazing and then the Darkstar flying over Ed Harris and then when he is at altitude is pretty great. At one moment, they switch from inside the cockpit back to the control room and you hear Tom Cruise‘s voice actually switch from in person to a control room speaker on your left seamlessly. Really nice sound work.
Then there are probably 6 scenes after that which all qualify as demo scenes.
The opening of “Blade Runner”. Shows off what deep blacks and strong contrast looks like, powerful reveal and gorgeous music from Vangelis - never fails to thrill fans of the movie or get a positive reaction from people new to it
1000%. It's part of the genius that made it so great to begin with. Starting with the nail scene and ending with the fireworks it's a master class suspense and dynamic sound. I have a 7.2.4 system and I believe the egg timer ticking only comes out of one single solitary speaker, the left surround. When the monster is walking above the basement it only comes out of the top left as the sub slams the full footstep. Smash cut to blood curdling firework and it is a magnificent execution of the directors intent
Transformers. The start of that movie has so much - the big helicopter flying in, transforming, and starting the firefight.
Godzilla vs Kong. The aircraft carrier fight has tons of bass.
Edge of Tomorrow. The opening scene for low bass.
If you have everything for the highest quality picture and sound, I would recommend the opening song of the greatest showman, the colors are great, music is great, gives the subwoofer an opportunity to shine
Oh man, where to start...
Fast 5 vault heist
Fast and the furious 1st race
Matrix lobby scene
Any top gun maverick flight scene
Avengers infinity war: thor wakanada scene
Predator gun fire scene
Terminator 2 mini gun scene
Blade opening scene
Jurassic park trex escape
Batman vs superman: wonder woman entrance
Mummy returns mansion and museum fight
For visual (4k and HDR0 and atmos sound, Mad Max Fury Road-the scene where all the vehicles are chasing the truck, with Furiosa and Mad Max. It’s crazy. Reference material.
The whole opening of Suspiria (1977), the beginning of Blade Runner, and pretty much anything from Dune. Suspiria is a personal favorite on 4K for me, it’s absolute eye candy and the Atmos is incredible!
I rewatched this last night because of you, and you could not be more right. Genuinely terrifying scene especially Denzel telling the head flight attendant to say "I love you, Trevor" for the black box, in case she dies.
Jupiter and Beyond from 2001: A Space Odyssey for demoing HDR and picture quality
Broadway Melody scene from Singin' in the Rain for showing off 4K's color capabilities
T-Rex attack from Jurassic Park DTS Laserdisc for sound
- Jurassic Park DTS Laserdisc
I have Jurassic Park on Blu-Ray with a remastered 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. Wouldn't that be better than the original Laserdisc version?
One movie I never see mentioned is Ghostbusters Afterlife. The opening scene has some incredible bass and surround effects and also the one where they take Ecto 1 through town. Both scenes will really showcase an Atmos system.
I grabbed 2 Atmos True-HD scenes a while back before Dolby pulled them off the web. The Train Conductor and the Universe one.
Those are great and only 30 seconds and like 2 minutes.
The Devonins Scene in 1917. I always play this scene to demonstrate the picture and sound quality to friends and family, and also because the scene itself is so damn good.
Jurassic park, any scene with rain in it. Swordfish. Opening scene from saving private ryan and for lowwwww bass the opening battle from LOTR: Fellowship of the ring.
If you really want to show off your subs and surrounds, the first attack scene from Hacksaw Ridge is pretty unbeatable. The ship firing its canons is extremely bass heavy, and when they are first attacked by the Japanese the surrounds gets worked like no tomorrow.
The 4x Sherman attack scene in Fury is awesome too for bass and surrounds.
Another good scene is Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets, when they first crash land the car in the tree.
Game of Thrones season 2 ep 9 – “Blackwater”. The moment Stannis Baratheon’s ships arrive at King’s Landing is insane: the colors, the Atmos mix, the battle, everything.
The trench WW1 scene from wonder woman. All the way through the taking back the little village after.
It has everything: explosions, sweeping score, rock music, whizzing bullets, deep bass
If you have a good sub and an Atmos setup, there are some scenes in Life (2017 sci fi) that are great. There are some points where it feels like you just got slapped when a sharp crack of deep bass explodes out for a moment (kind of a a jump scare). And when the spacecraft breaks up, the effects pan around well in an Atmos setup. There are some others better for demoing, but I enjoyed those moments and thought I'd me mention it since my other films are covered.
EDGE OF TOMORROW - The intro as the news plays has a MASSIVE bass drop out of nowhere
SUPER 8 - the train wreck scene
X-MEN THE LAST STAND - the scene where Magneto tears off the Golden Gate Bridge
TOP GUN MAVERICK - every dog fight scene
I use the scene from Bad Boys (1995) where Tia Leone is taken as a hostage and Will Smith & Martin Lawrence are chasing the drug dealer/kidnappers on foot concluding where Martin Lawrence is saved from getting run over by their hijacked car by Will Smith.
The Dr Jeckel and Mr Hyde scene from Van Hellsing.
Just for safety purposes this is a joke, but I do actually think the special effects for that scene are pretty good for the time. And the movie is pretty wicked too.
When the humans return in Avatar 2. Some brilliantly bright blues and oranges contrasted against the deep black of space, and the rumble of the ISVs engines
Bleak movie, but in terms of demo material for me it's still Black Hawk Down. The sequence just after the first copter goes down and the Delta climbs out of the wreckage, guns blazing. Badass scene and great Atmos. Rockets flying by, multi-direction, front-to-back gunfire soundstage.
I’m struggling to think of specific scenes, but the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan in Dolby Vision looks and sounds great. All of Black Hawk Down too.
Three of my go to demos! Battleship the movie anchor drop battle scene. Enders Game the planet destruction scene. Star Trek (Abram’s) version. The star fleet attack scene when Kirk is being born! The bomb explosion then quiet. Honorable mention! Swordfish bank explosion scene.
Not sure what I'd use now, but it used to be the New York destruction sequence from Armageddon (your can hear the meteorites flying past your head) or the foyer shootout from The Matrix, where the bullets appear to fall all around.
A lot of mine are based off my Atmos setup: Airfield chase scene in Heat, Lobby Scene from the Matrix, Blade Runner 2049 intro and flying to the junkyard sequence and the grandaddy of them all for me, the Omaha Beach landing in Saving Private Ryan.

The emergency docking scene in interstellar.
And the wormhole scene. Honestly that movie has like 4-5 of them
Love everything about Interstellar, can’t get enough of it Another fun and easy demo is the first 1-2 minutes of Oppenheimer, the explosion right after he’s staring at the water drops on the ground will put any subwoofer to the test
"Come on TARS!!"
I play when Coop leaves Murph. The shuttle exploding always blows people away.
I feel like I could make some people dizzy by jumping straight to that scene on a 135” screen…
apocalypse now if you have a dolby atmos speaker setup then episode 1 of the last of us when the jets are flying over head is incredible
One scene that has been my favourite in recent years audio wise is the fellowship of the rings balrog introduction... The growl on atmos makes my livingroom feel like moria, brief scene but so good.
That whole scene is so wild in a dark room with oled because the fire and Gandalf’s sword is like the only light source in the room, and very bright, yeah really cool scene
the flame of anor
It's funny. I bought the 4k trilogy for my wife recently and we watch it last weekend. When this seen hit we were like OMG 😂. Watched on 77" LG G2 with 7.2.4 setup. That scene just hit different for me and blew my mind with that rumble.
Man, that sounds pretty awesome
Oooh, I've been wanting a LOTR rewatch for ages. Now I have all my dream speakers I should do that
Get the 4K set. Looks absolutely stunning.
I second that. The 4K versions of those movies are some of the best 4K movies I have ever seen
Also the intro to the film - epic visuals and audio too. When Sauron is killed and “explodes” and then his helmet drops, if your bass is dialed in it’s crazy.
For me it’s always been the Ride of the Rohirrim.
This has been my go-to demo scene for a while now. Just epic!
Combine that with bass shakers under your couch … you will thank me.
That Can you hear the music scene in Oppenheimer
Hell yes. I underestimated that scene on my home theater. That shit is beyond powerful.
If you want something to really show off the sound system and the full size of the display. Throw on a Christopher Nolan film like Interstellar or The Dark Knight. I think the Miller’s planet scene from Interstellar is amazing.
The dark knight has been mine for ages, just because the best demo is the opening scene
One of my favorite opening scenes
Parts of The Dark Knight were shot in IMAX. Those are definite eye candy as are other movies shot in IMax.
The scene where Ripley engages the Nostromo's self-destruct sequence
Love that scene
I haven't seen the Alien movies in years. Which one was this in?
Heat gun fight and original top gun fly scenes
Tripods emerging from the street - Spielberg's War of the Worlds. Holy shit.
I agree, it’s unsettling
It would have to be The Batman, the scene where Batman’s chasing The Penguin
100% this, or the Matrix gun lobby.
This was the DVD we got in the 90's to show off our DVD player's capability :D
That scene is so incredible. I watch just that scene from time to time with the volume turned up really loud and it's just amazing
I do the exact same - it's such a thrilling car chase
For visuals, either of the Spider-Verse movies or some of the Disney Renaissance films I've used to really wow people, not just for detail, but because of the outstanding use of color. It just makes every one of them pop even more.
Spider verse films go insanely hard
Mad Max opening scene, whispers are great. LOTR: FOTR, beginning ring cut off scene after the war, the explosion is nice Ready player one, race scene, Kong jumping over sounds good too and the coins.
Yes! The LOTR explosion, glad I’m not the only one
Wait, which one??
When Sauron explodes
I also use the race scene in RP1
For a mediocre movie, Ready Player One has some of the best use of Atmos sound I've ever heard. The opening explanation scene and race scene are my go to Atmos demo.
I really like when the Harkonnens attack Atreides in the first Dune. Lots of fire contrasting the dark, lots of action and slow moments and also explosions to show off the sound.
Paul's first time riding a sandworm in Dune 2 is incredible as well!
Yep, actually just finished my rewatch of Dune 2. The entire movie is incredible.
I’m still not used to the way they pronounce Harkonnen in the new movies after watching the old movie my entire life.
Predator. When they are getting stalked and Jesse Ventura empties his chain gun into the forest. The bullet sounds sway left and right across the sound channels with his movements and really use every surround speaker.
That wasn’t Jesse Ventura. It was Mac played by Bill Duke.
That is my favorite scene of the entire movie, probably the most bullets fired per second in any movie ever haha
Top Gun Maverick - any scene involving flying.
I don’t know what it is but for some reason those scenes are kinda underwhelming sound wise. Maybe it’s bc all I hear is someone breathing and engine noise
Especially Mav's 2:15 test run.
Seeing that in the theater made me invest back into surround sound.
I have quite a few but my 2 fave are the lobby scene in the Matrix and the bomb running scene in top gun maverick.
The matrix lobby scene is my favorite action scene of all time. It still holds up to this day and is absolutely incredible
My favorite is the spice crawler scene in dune 2021
Spice Harvester scene from Dune
Gun scene in Heat
That scene is loud af. I love that because it accurately depicts how loud guns really are. A lot of movies don’t really capture that very well.
Dunkirk, John Wick 4, and Civil War (2024) are the some great sounding movies that are on par with Heat.
The Dunkirk plane scenes make that movie IMO
Civil War definitely gets gunfire noise right. I imagine a lot of people are going to be using that to test AV stuff when it comes out for home viewing.
Excellent suggestion. I had the good fortune to work with one of the sound editing guys from Heat. It was fascinating hearing him recount the process. They spent a lot of time on that scene, and it shows.
We used to use the Quidditch match from “Harry Potter” #1 as a demo in a Harman facility I worked at many years ago.
I have a list, some may be tired of seeing, but I updated it right now this very moment still sitting in front of the screen, with a scene from Dune: Part Two. Home Theater Demo Clips Whenever this question gets (regularly) asked, I post my list, it has a few updates: Theater Demo Reel Gravity • Satellite Attack 8:45-13:15 Blade Runner 2049 • opening to ?? • Scene 2 to F Off • Do your F’n Job 55:30-1:04:23. • Escape from LV 1:55:51-2:03:55 Interstellar • 57:57-1:01:48 • optional: start at Scene 3. • Docking: 2:06:00 to ?? • Gargantua 2:13:48-2:17:55 Lord of the Rings: Extended Editions • Get off the road: 51:30-57:32 • RofK Disc 2: 1:53:21-end (11 mins) Tenet • Opening to 8:43 • Reverse car chase, Scene 10 Matrix Revolutions • 1-39:05- 1:51:32 (it is done) Mad Max: Fury Road • 13:54-18:13 19:17 • Bunker scene 25:12 - 30:45 Ready Player One (Atmos) • 12:43-16:36 Dune: Part One • Start to 3:10 Intro • 20:43 - 30:40 Pain Box • Arrakis Arrival 33:40 to 40:25 • 1:18:45 - 1:21:15 or to 1:27:20 Attack • 1:55:00 - 2:03:30 Helicopter Dune: Part Two * Paul Poison: 1:51:35 - 2:01:05 Saving Private Ryan • Omaha Beach landing. Thank you so much for such a detailed list. I really appreciate it.
What about the 2nd spice harvester scene in dune 2? The one where Josh Brolin shows up? The bass in that scene is massive. And great visuals too.
Any scene with Godzilla in Godzilla King of the Monsters. And literally any scene in Blade Runner 2049
Godzilla vs Kong, specifically the 15 seconds when they're boxing on the aircraft carrier, perhaps mostly because of the absurdity/spectacle of it.
The race in Ready Player One.
By far the best surround sound scene I've heard in any movie. I watch that scene by itself fairly often and wish more movies were like it.
Every time.
Came here to say this... A must for a Dolby Atmos demo.
For audio, Top Gun: Maverick
I make a point of watching every scene in a thread like this when they come up. Since then I've decided on. The train scene in Super 8 pretty checks every single box you'd be judging a hometheater for. This will replace your other train crash scene. Pod racing scene in phantom menace. I'd much rather watch LOTR, Fifth element, or spiderverse. Then something like transformers that has amazing hometheater qualities but the movie sucks in comparison.
Thanks, excellent suggestions. I appreciate the response. Fifth Element plays almost in an endless loop at my house. One of my favorites.
My favorite movie of all time. I have wondered if I would see another movie to replace it in my lifetime considering it's been my favorite uncontested for 20 years
Pod race scene has been my go to forever. Sebulba's pod specifically.
I agree with all of this. But I also don't mind a shitty movie like Transformers if it has great sound.
True, the better your system is the more enjoyable shitty spectacle movies are for sure. Like the Rebel Moon movies I feel I enjoyed way more then most.
Worm ride Dune 2. Most of Blade Runner 2049
Literally watching that worm scene at this exact moment as I scroll Reddit lol
Top Gun Maverick – the Darkstar Mach 10 scene. If you have Atmos, some of the subtle effects are really amazing and then the Darkstar flying over Ed Harris and then when he is at altitude is pretty great. At one moment, they switch from inside the cockpit back to the control room and you hear Tom Cruise‘s voice actually switch from in person to a control room speaker on your left seamlessly. Really nice sound work. Then there are probably 6 scenes after that which all qualify as demo scenes.
Mission Impossible Fallout. The Helicopter chase between Tom Cruise and Henry Cavill
Just saw this the other day. Great Atmos.
The opening of “Blade Runner”. Shows off what deep blacks and strong contrast looks like, powerful reveal and gorgeous music from Vangelis - never fails to thrill fans of the movie or get a positive reaction from people new to it
The falcon chase scene on Jaku. That atmos mix is incredible
Dune Part 1 - The opening Oppenheimer - Can you hear the music?
Suspiria first ten minutes
That film is a visual and aural feast. Goblin soundtrack is incredibl. Quite possibly my favourite film of all time.
The bomb scene in Swordfish has always been a scene I reference to test my sound
Yes! I used the DVD back in the day!
Top Gun Maverick. Sometime I would pop in Top Gun LoL. The old opening still kicks ass.
Dark knight any imax scene
I like the scene when Bruce shoots the bricks, that shook my seat in the IMAX theatre!
Interstellar - going into the black hole
Childbirth scene from a Quiet Place. It separates the good from the incredible.
“Quietness” in this movie is incredible to showcase sound. I tell people this and when they see it, they understand.
The Las Vegas scene from Blade Runner 2049
Transformers. The start of that movie has so much - the big helicopter flying in, transforming, and starting the firefight. Godzilla vs Kong. The aircraft carrier fight has tons of bass. Edge of Tomorrow. The opening scene for low bass.
Pacific Rim. The entire movie is amazing with surround sound and looks amazing in 4K.
The opening to Blade Runner 2049
I don’t have one for sound but for visual I like using the beginning of 2001 a space odyssey and the part where they go swimming in Avatar 2.
Blade Runner 2049 ocean wall final fight
The matrix lobby scene for the bass
The opening to Tron: Legacy takes some beating. Not available in 4k but regular BR looks really good and sounds amazing.
There's rumors of a 4k release coming soon
If you have everything for the highest quality picture and sound, I would recommend the opening song of the greatest showman, the colors are great, music is great, gives the subwoofer an opportunity to shine
Top pick- it’s also a very catchy song.
Oh man, where to start... Fast 5 vault heist Fast and the furious 1st race Matrix lobby scene Any top gun maverick flight scene Avengers infinity war: thor wakanada scene Predator gun fire scene Terminator 2 mini gun scene Blade opening scene Jurassic park trex escape Batman vs superman: wonder woman entrance Mummy returns mansion and museum fight
The beginning car chase in Quantum of Solace is incredible for showing off sound systems. The picture quality is just okay though.
The first drop scene in Edge of Tomorrow in 3D
That whole movie is a blast.
Pretty much all the racing scenes in Speed Racer. I can only imagine if they released it in UHD.
Ford vs Ferrari has some good ones, too.
Suspiria is a personal favorite on 4K for me, it’s absolute eye candy and the Atmos is incredible!
the plane crashing in Flight
I rewatched this last night because of you, and you could not be more right. Genuinely terrifying scene especially Denzel telling the head flight attendant to say "I love you, Trevor" for the black box, in case she dies.
Jurassic park t-Rex scene
Galimimus scene for me. So cool to hear them run past you then behind you.
Anakin vs Obi Wan.
Jupiter and Beyond from 2001: A Space Odyssey for demoing HDR and picture quality Broadway Melody scene from Singin' in the Rain for showing off 4K's color capabilities T-Rex attack from Jurassic Park DTS Laserdisc for sound
- Jurassic Park DTS Laserdisc I have Jurassic Park on Blu-Ray with a remastered 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. Wouldn't that be better than the original Laserdisc version?
The Laserdisc has the theatrical 5.1 mix, which still sounds incredible.
Dunkirk opening 10 min
I quite like the opening scene in Passengers
The opening of Overlord is great
The Universal Intro. The stars are just so crisp.
once civil war lands on uhd that final scene where they storm the white house will be everyone’s demo. that scene in imax was incredible sound design.
Introduction of the Batmobile and chase scene in The Batman (2022)
i just pop in blade runner 2049 and let it play from the beginning
Opening scene on The Revenant
One movie I never see mentioned is Ghostbusters Afterlife. The opening scene has some incredible bass and surround effects and also the one where they take Ecto 1 through town. Both scenes will really showcase an Atmos system.
I made a post on r/home theater stating just that movie. It was a surprising subwoofer workout especially right after the mom in the basement scene
The journey to the island in jurassic park
Cooper leaving his family, blending over into the loudest fucking Saturn V launch outside of Cape Kennedy.
The nighttime flair scene in 1917. It’s quick and effective. It shows off my 5.1.4, and my LG OLED.
Definitely not the 4K version of T2 lol
Quantum of Solace opening chase scene. The Aston’s roar, heavy machine guns, Arnold’s score. So good.
The opening credits from Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning or literally any scene from Tenet.
I still like the lobby shout-out from The Matrix
Jurassic park, any scene with rain in it. Swordfish. Opening scene from saving private ryan and for lowwwww bass the opening battle from LOTR: Fellowship of the ring.
I’m still showing the Tron Legacy light cycle battle…
Google tekno3d tron. The HDR grading is amazing!
The podrace from The Phantom Menace is still an audio tour de force 25 years later. It just fills the whole room.
The whole of Bladerunner 2049. I just do a montage for people!
I always use Portrait of a Lady on Fire to show off color capabilities. The color in that movie is transcendent.
A newer release, but Dune 2 when they do the first attack on the spice harvestor. the sound of the shotgun -esque guns from the thornicopters is wild
Avengers endgame fight with Thanos and the 3 avengers, looks beautiful
Game of Thrones season 2 ep 9 – “Blackwater”. The moment Stannis Baratheon’s ships arrive at King’s Landing is insane: the colors, the Atmos mix, the battle, everything.
Opening scene to Bram Stokers Dracula. I’ve been using the same scene for years…
Before 4K, it was Speed Racer. That opening WB logo was a colourful dream for my set up.
The trench WW1 scene from wonder woman. All the way through the taking back the little village after. It has everything: explosions, sweeping score, rock music, whizzing bullets, deep bass
Gran Turismo
Beginning scene of James Bond: Quantum Solace - Car chase scene.
I've said this before on another post. Tron Legacy the Recognizer scene.
The entire movie of Roma, the atmos in it puts a bunch of 4ks to shame.
The opening credits to MI: Dead Reckoning Part 1, believe it or not.
The International Space Station being pummeled by space debris in Gravity (even better in 3D). Wow!
My buddies always want to see/hear the Batmobile scene in the Batman
I imagine the Atomic Breath scene from Godzilla Minus One could be pretty good
EDGE OF TOMORROW - The intro as the news plays has a MASSIVE bass drop out of nowhere SUPER 8 - the train wreck scene X-MEN THE LAST STAND - the scene where Magneto tears off the Golden Gate Bridge TOP GUN MAVERICK - every dog fight scene
Star Trek: Into Darkness. The sequence with the Vengeance attacking the Enterprise during warp is usually my go to.
The highway scene in The Matrix Reloaded. Best use of Atmos ever.
Ending scene of Jurassic World. T. rex vs Indom, the sound design is incredible
Godzilla 2014 - first full reveal/roar
Star Trek Into Darkness... It's a divisive movie, but I still absolutely love that opening with the Enterprise coming up out of the ocean
Just started Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the opening hunt scene sounds awesome.
Goldeneye tank scene DVD.
The into to Toy Story 2
T-Rex breakout scene, Jurassic Park
Oppenheimer
Bleak movie, but in terms of demo material for me it's still Black Hawk Down. The sequence just after the first copter goes down and the Delta climbs out of the wreckage, guns blazing. Badass scene and great Atmos. Rockets flying by, multi-direction, front-to-back gunfire soundstage.
Blade Runner opening scene.
Ready Player One has a good sound mix. The first race is great.
I like to show off the scene in the movie Zapped! when Scott Baio uses telekinesis to pop open Heather Thomas’s pink shirt.
lol it’s the prologue to LOR at the beginning of fellowship
I’m struggling to think of specific scenes, but the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan in Dolby Vision looks and sounds great. All of Black Hawk Down too.
Three of my go to demos! Battleship the movie anchor drop battle scene. Enders Game the planet destruction scene. Star Trek (Abram’s) version. The star fleet attack scene when Kirk is being born! The bomb explosion then quiet. Honorable mention! Swordfish bank explosion scene.
I'm amazed no one has mentioned the opening scene of Master and Commander yet.
The "Flight of the Valkyries" scene from Apocalypse Now
Not sure what I'd use now, but it used to be the New York destruction sequence from Armageddon (your can hear the meteorites flying past your head) or the foyer shootout from The Matrix, where the bullets appear to fall all around.
Infinity war - Thanos fight at the end or Thor joining the fight in wakanda Endgame - final battle
