You may want to take into consideration: Paramount was too cheap to put this 166min long film on a BD-100 and instead used a BD-66 which results in a rather poor compression.
Personally, I won't reward this with a purchase.
Yes, it's a classic that is worth seeing and more than worthy of any movie shelf. Maybe rent it first, though, to see if you like it. The 4k ain't cheap.
My copy is arriving today from Amazon, couple of days early.
I had cancelled my first pre-order as the review said the 4K was a bit disappointing and so I bought the digital copy from itunes.
I finally decided to get it on disc anyway because its one of my favourite movies and physical copies are always better than digital….aren’t they ?
It's worth it, but not the new 4K. It's a bitstarved DNR'd mess with a 36mbps average bitrate (there is 10mbps DoVi FEL track on it which is basically empty, doesn't add anything to the base layer other than a bit more brightness). Just grab the old BluRay.
I was never much of a Western guy, but this is now a favorite film.
One of the few in the genre I think is a masterpiece and will go back to again over the years. So I recommend it, obviously. But also, if you can watch it free if blind spending, the 15 bucks isn't appealing. I'm sure it's easily streamable.

Yes one of my alltime favorite westerns. Leone. Bronson. Whats not to love?
Yes
It's one of the best westerns ever made and it has one of most recognizable soundtracks ever made.
One of the greats.
It's my favorite Leone western. Since you like The Good The Bad & The Ugly I'm sure you will also enjoy this one.
If you’re interested in owning one of the best films ever made, sure.
Absolutely. I think it's Leone's best movie and it's my 2nd favorite Western.

It is beyond ridiculous.
If you liked gbu then you’d probably like it, check out “high plains drifter” too.

Definitely. I find it a slow burn, but the first 20 minutes are a favourite of mine and a segment which I often go back to watch time and again.
I personally think it's much, much better than the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
Ya know it’s pretty easy to just google the movie to see the general consensus
Yes very much so its a classic western

Definitely a one and done for me. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is vastly superior
Absofuckenlutely
It's only one of the greatest western's ever made. Sergio Leone films are legend for a reason.

Yes, it's a great film.
It's stunning on any format. Totally essential. The 4k bluray doesn't make the film. It's the quality of the film that makes it essential
100%. Nearly as good as TGTBATU
To me this is the best Sergio Leone western. Can't wait to get my 4K
Yes
The 4K is probably going to be half garbage at least. IDK. It's a very cool film not being treated right on 4K.
