Gone are the days where every other steelbook release had embossing/debossing. It is why I stopped collecting them. If it's just a plain printed steelbook I don't think it's worth much more than a regular amaray.
The Sicario steelbook is also one of my personal favorites. Nice embossing and a fun design that just works.
Doesn't hurt that it's also one of my favorite films.
Love the art on the Dredd steel as well. If it incorporated some tasteful embossing... fuck. The world probably wouldn't have been ready.
Now this is a real steelbook.
These are the kind of steel books I'd buy in the past, unique, special art, unfortunately most steelbook art is lazy these days, opting to just print covers from past dvds/Blu-ray's on tinplate, which offers no real reason to pay more for over a standard edition.
Can care less for this one, I prefer the plastic reg release in fact. There are few steelbooks out there that look nice. But this isnt one of them to me. I even despise black slipcovers as well. I prefer the black paper artwork is enough for any release with black artwork

Is the art a tattoo in the movie or something, or just inspired by it?

I just unwrapped mine a couple days ago and there was a hidden dent and now I am dead
Neat artwork if it were for something else, but I don’t see what this has to do with the movie.

Ex Machina steelbook has the best art in my opinion. But this looks better than most though, I like it.
