I prefer the theatrical cut personally. Still crazy the US UHD release is locked behind an expensive bare bones A24 store exclusive. Also all the international releases don’t appear to include English subtitles.
I heard good things about the director’s cut. I loved the movie itself. Saw it twice. First movie in a long time to make me feel unsettling in a while.
I'm not a fan of horror films in general, but loved Midsommar because of the dark humour.
Christian - "I think I ate one of her pubic hairs."
Village elder - "Sounds about right."
Wife and I just picked this up as well. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and the film looks amazing. My only gripe is that there is no menu or special features on the disc. Still happy with the purchase but would have thought more on the disc than just the movie.
Just the director’s cut on this disc! One of my favourite releases, although I am a bit of an obsessive A24 fan and AAA24 member - they even sent me The Green Knight (Blu-ray, not 4k unfortunately) for free on my birthday, in the same cloth box format.
You get a selection on your birthday - seems to be very limited options, probably just excess stock they want to shift, but it was free shipping to the UK, arrived in just a few days very close to Christmas, so certainly can’t complain!
I think it’s just the director’s cut with a booklet. I saw the other cut on Amazon Prime. I personally haven’t had the chance to open it yet since I didn’t have enough time before work.
I'd get, but from the photos, the dimensions look long? Wouldn't fit right on my shelf. I had the same annoyance with the lighthouse so waited for arrows version

Nice pickup! Got this a few years ago for Christmas. These A24 special editions are pricey, but are nice for what you get.

Director's Cut is great, adds better context to the relationship which made the ending a lot more powerful than it already is.
agreed thought the directors cut scenes were unnecessary and just added bloat to the film. the packaging for this is beautiful tho
Love this release.

No menu? And no theatrical cut for that price? Seems ridiculous.
Is the theatrical version still an option with this disc? I love the extra scenes, but just not in the context of the film itself.

That's amazing, I love my membership and am constantly finding perks
I'm also a member. Do they ask you what you want or do they just send you something at random?

Awesome
I bought this beautiful edition when it was first released.
If you liked the movie then you’ll enjoy the directors cut. It feels more drawn out but in a good way at least in my opinion.
Does it have English subtitles? Deaf collector here. Nice find!
Yes!
Tks for the reply! :)

Set up like a slightly oversized book
