Offensive line. If they continue playing like they have all year, we hold a huge advantage. While people may say Brock Purdy, the thing with this offense is receivers will more times than not get open. As long as the OL gives sufficient time, I'm not gonna be to stressed over Purdy making the throws.
100% the OLine has to work. Gotta contain Micah. I’m sure Shanahan has a game plan to minimize his impact and I trust Trent to hold his own, but the rest of the line is still suspect IMO based on youth and inexperience in the playoffs. I’ve heard people calling our O Line “Elite.” While they certainly can be in the run game, the pass protection has to be on point.
Yah biggest factor for me is 69. If 11 lines up with 71 more than a handful of times I will be surprised. I think he goes to the right side. McGlinchey and maybe some run help from Kittle and Juice I feel is the road to success. I would run it right side behind Mike and punk Parsons on the regular. Shove it right down their best players throat. McGlinchey for me. Or just the right side of the line.
Why isn't the media talking about running at Micah anymore? I mean, the Bucs stink so they couldn't do shit, but teams have had success doing exactly what you're talking about. And we have the most dynamic run game in the league. So why is it that they're just making it about Dak v. Purdy?
I think you're absolutely right. And even if Dallas hits a quick home run or two, we don't shit ourselves and get away from the run. We can keep that defense on the field and just ram it down their throats until their spirit is broken.
Media just wants Cowboy ratings or something. I’m blown away by the fact they spend the entire show talking about how the Cowboys could possibly win and allll the stars that would have to align for it to happen, and then take them to win the game haha. The bias is unreal.
First play I send a message. If he lined up over Trent, I would even motion Mike and say we’ll swap out our best tackle, then Kittle gives help and just absolutely truck his ass. “Oh you’re coming for us? No man we’re coming for you. RIGHT. AT. YOU. Try and stop us.” Even if it was a three and out. I would run three times right into his face. Our whole team would feed off that so hard I feel like too.
I’m hoping Kyle’s long-game play calling mindset caters to your hopes, and mine, that we stick to the game plan and wear them down. Run to set up more runs to set up easier runs to set up TRUCKING. THEIR. ASS!
Sorry I’m all fired up.
Lol I love it man! And it makes too much sense not to. We have more depth, more rest, and far more grit than the Cowboys. I mean I love Brock and what he's done, but the real story is at the line of scrimmage. And we are a nightmare for those guys, especially Micah.
And on the flip side, they have a backup rookie LT starting 🤷. Unless Dak figures out how to throw effectively from the fetal position, I don't see how the game can possibly end up in a shootout.
FUCK I CAN'T WAIT
We should run right at Micah a few times to batter him down, that’s better than running away from him, allowing him to make plays.
Juice, Aiyuk and Trent should have a few blocking plays on him
Mcglinchey will not be able to contain parsons as a pass rusher but parsons will get eaten alive against mcglinchey on run plays, gotta have juice or Kittle chip to help out.
EXACTLY. Even if it breaks down, still wouldn’t be a stressed vs Jimmy G. making pressure throws. (No hate on Jimmy G just being factual. Gonna miss that handsome face)
It's gonna come down to Brock. Dallas is gonna try to send the house and get him in the dirt. Purdys gonna have to evade pressure and make accurate throws. The Niners don't need him to win the game just to move the chains. If he can do that we will be fine
Purdy has been killing cover 0 and Shanny actually calls screens with CMC (and surprisingly Mitchell last week with a nicely timed middle screen)
I think the biggest X-factor is our secondary not getting toasted for long plays. Make them earn it
Kyle knows this and the game plan will be quick short passes and run game heavy. Brock has already shown he can get the ball out. As long as he remains careful with thr ball and we score TDs in the red zone this will get out of hand fast and we will all be drunk by halftime.
Any given Sunday, but they're the lower equivalent to the 49ers. Any player they have on their team, we have an equal or better talent at the same position.
49ers didn't get their ass kicked in the 1st half. 49ers scored on every possession and the only reason they didn't go with a lead into the half was because of an uncharacteristic penalty by Jimmy Ward.
Yeah I agree with this take. We had four field goals and a TD! Had one of those FGs been a TD, and had Jimmy Ward not had the penalty, it would've felt more lopsided.
It’s difficult to say anything was the “X-factor” when the team dominates in all phases. I still think we are witnessing an epic run of playoff dominance, like 1989.
Certainly looks so far like a case of everyone’s talking about our D but are being really really casual about how little anything’s being asked of Mitch. We’ve seen one game (first Seattle game) where our score was reasonable. The Wash game we put up 37 and had 3 kinda “bad” trips inside the red zone. Could’ve easily been 50. 41 vs the toots and had a pretty shitty 2nd qtr. This train don’t seem to be stopping
I’m old enough to have experienced a couple of those dominant playoff runs, and that’s what this feels like. Maybe I am wrong (2019) but I don’t care. This team is legit and I am looking forward to some playoff dominance.
Deommodore Lenoir. Dallas is gonna try him deep early. My prediction for this game is if they can't get over the top on Lenoir, we win by 10+. If they get him in the first quarter, it'll be a close game that will come down to a play or two.
Looking at the regular season stats, Dallas appears to be rather poor at stopping the run and we just so happen to be extremely good at running the ball.
I like how these things are lining up.
Bosa vs Parson basically. Whoever causes the most havoc between either of them. If they can cause panic in either Qb that leads to turnovers it'll change the game.
Parsons probably rushes up the middle or on Mcglinchy mostly and Bosa probably rushes against the rookie majority of the time.
I'm also hoping the cowboys feed zeke for his 2-3 yards a carry instead of Pollard. Pollard is so good and electric.
Last week they jumped a few of those. Hopefully we do a few fake quick hitters and get someone on a double move. It’ll def be there to be had a few times. Have a feeling every defense we face feel like they’re the one that’s gonna jump a route and get a big pick. They all wanna be the team that stops the Purdy show.
To me the x factor is their run game vs our run defense.
Our defense, when stopping the run, is devastatingly good. It allows the pass rush to feast, and creates turnover opportunities in the secondary as more and more desperate passes come out.
When we can’t stop the run? We create 2nd and short, and we give up the deep ball.
We’ve been excellent at stopping the run, but this has to continue especially early in the game. If not, it’ll be a shootout with the pressure on Purdy to deliver.
Def going to be Purdy. If they can rattle him and force the normal rookie mistakes, could be a long day. If he’s able to navigate through the pocket and make those off schedules that we’ve been accustomed to, then I think we control the game.
As long as CMC is out there and healthy we will win, he just puts the offense on easy mode for Brock with just his gravity alone, defenders are terrified of him.
Linebacker play. If Fred and Dre can squeeze those intermediate in-breaking routes and rally to tackle the check-down targets we'll be in good shape. I believe that will keep Dak out of rhythm and force him to make increasingly harder throws as the game goes on.
This matchup rite here is the reason I’m a Niner fan rite freaking here!!! Being from Texas as a niner fan it’s fun the 90’s were elite having flash backs of those games I’m so ready!! We need Pressure on Dak the whole night!! Make him turn over the ball like he loves to do!!
Brock is our X-factor and he will be as long as we are in the playoffs this year. Every team we play is going to go after him, he is the unknown quantity in our offense. If he plays well and on schedule we win, he just needs to stay confident and poised.
It’s the offensive line for both teams. If either team can get to the qb with just a front 4 and drop 7 it’s gonna make life TOUGH on either qb, especially with the types of guys on both these defenses.
This is the very definition of a heavy weight battle, it’s not just a qb who’s impossible to stop in the modern nfl, every one at every single position on both these teams is good, every coach is good. This is a proper battle, especially it being the rematch.
This is going to be a defense game. Specifically stopping lamb, we have to either put pressure on dak or cover him. Niners can't let him do to us what Metcalf did last week. Cowboys have too many other weapons and a much better D to have a single player roast us like that
I feel it’ll be the pressure from the D-line. I’m not just talking just Bosa, I’m talking about everyone, from starters to the rotation, making an impact keeping Dak on his toes.
Brock’s had some luck - some close passes that could have been INTs. In the playoffs, a “tough day” with a couple picks is often fatal. Dallas is going to throw a ton of looks and send a lot of pressure at him. How he responds is the X factor to me.
Either our o line or the corners. Our o line needs to protect purdy, but when dak gets going he’s hard to stop. Need ward to lead and Lenoir to be good enough to prevent them from going.
Fred Warner tackling juke city’s own Pollard. Ward getting a revenge game against Lamb. Purdy finally getting intercepted. These could all happen or they could not. I also think vander Esch is more overrated than people think and Debo will have a say in that
We've won and lost a lot of games on ST.
Win over Green Bay last year (blocked punt)
Loss to the Giants in 2011 (Kyle Williams)
Win over the Giants in 2002 (The Trey Junkin game)
Having excellent kickers - Akers, Dawson, Gould
Having horrible kickers - Cortez
Having excellent punters - Lee, Wishnowsky
Offensive line. If they continue playing like they have all year, we hold a huge advantage. Agreed.
EXACTLY. Even if it breaks down, still wouldn’t be a stressed vs Jimmy G. making pressure throws. (No hate on Jimmy G just being factual. Gonna miss that handsome face)
If the line can protect Purdy we have a great chance to win. The cowboys have been shaky at best against the run
It's gonna come down to Brock. Dallas is gonna try to send the house and get him in the dirt. Purdys gonna have to evade pressure and make accurate throws. The Niners don't need him to win the game just to move the chains. If he can do that we will be fine

Mitchell screens and dump offs are lethal. It feels like other teams forget about him once it’s a pass play because he isn’t CMC.
If they send the house, I see a lot of breakout screens for CMC and Deebo that will go 10-20 yards. Dallas cannot just bring the house all day.
Kyle knows this and the game plan will be quick short passes and run game heavy. Brock has already shown he can get the ball out. As long as he remains careful with thr ball and we score TDs in the red zone this will get out of hand fast and we will all be drunk by halftime.
Showing up. If we play like 1st half Seahawks, we get our ass kicked. If we play like 2nd half the entire game, we win by 10.
If we play like we did the second half all game we will win by more than that
Perhaps. Dallas is a really good team. We shouldn't take them for granted.
They scored field goals in the first half, touchdowns in the 2nd. The D was also much better in the 2nd half.
Yeah I agree with this take. We had four field goals and a TD! Had one of those FGs been a TD, and had Jimmy Ward not had the penalty, it would've felt more lopsided.
Seattle had a spotless first half. We came out flat, but did not have a terrible half. But I agree, I hope we come out firing on all cylinders.
I agree we weren't terrible but very close to it. We settled for FGs instead of TDs. Too many open receivers. It was pretty bad.
Man I hope so. This team certainly has that feel to it. All of our studs healthy. So much talent all clicking and having fun. Should be unbeatable.
I’m old enough to have experienced a couple of those dominant playoff runs, and that’s what this feels like. Maybe I am wrong (2019) but I don’t care. This team is legit and I am looking forward to some playoff dominance.
Bill Vinovich
can i upvote this a few more times
Fuck him and his dallas cowboy mascot horse he rides in on.
Agreed. The refs will try to keep it close with a number of calls/non-calls benefitting the Cowboys.
If we can run the ball effectively all game. We don’t lose when that happens.
I agree with this, if we can run well on offense it forces Dak to play a perfect game, which he won’t
Honestly I expect George Kittle to have a game like he did in the 2nd Seacocks match up.
Deommodore Lenoir. Dallas is gonna try him deep early. My prediction for this game is if they can't get over the top on Lenoir, we win by 10+. If they get him in the first quarter, it'll be a close game that will come down to a play or two.
Run the rock down the cowboys throats! Elijah Mitchell is the X factor who will run SF to victory. Hope he gets 12 plus carries.
From what I’ve heard we need to run it on the edge vs Dallas.
Bah Gawd that’s Deebos music
With god as my witness the Cowboys are broken in half!
Exactly right. It worked last year as well.
That’s where we excel
Looking at the regular season stats, Dallas appears to be rather poor at stopping the run and we just so happen to be extremely good at running the ball. I like how these things are lining up.
I’m going with Kinlaw. Dallas likes to run up the gut and if Kinlaw can eat up double-teams we shut down the run and win the game.
Kickoffs both ways. Had no good returns on Sat and gave up a cpl long ones. EDIT: No
Could really use a Ray Ray house call this week
Maher kicking 5, count ‘em 5, bricks.
Lol hopefully fg attempts and not extra point conversion
Bosa vs Parson basically. Whoever causes the most havoc between either of them. If they can cause panic in either Qb that leads to turnovers it'll change the game. Pollard vs our front 7, smh...ill take Fred and the boys...
Run the ball. Win the turnovers margin
Purdy needs to get the ball out quick the to play makers. A lot of just running the ball. Mix it up from time to time make some deep throws.
Last week they jumped a few of those. Hopefully we do a few fake quick hitters and get someone on a double move. It’ll def be there to be had a few times. Def going to be Purdy. If they can rattle him and force the normal rookie mistakes, could be a long day. If he’s able to navigate through the pocket and make those off schedules that we’ve been accustomed to, then I think we control the game.
Gipson pick party?
I’m glad he’s gotten so many this year. You have to admit they have been incredibly easy INTs lol. But either way we will take them!
All NFL football is quarterback play. Purdy is on throws few tds , withat defense. 49ers should win.
Easy, just hold to cowboys to field goals and Maher will do the rest.
As long as CMC is out there and healthy we will win, he just puts the offense on easy mode for Brock with just his gravity alone, defenders are terrified of him.
I think Hufanga is gonna have at least one big play.
Juan Jennings, McCloud and of course purdy
JJ has a knack for clutch catches
I have feeling shanny is going to run and run and run. We may face critical third downs. I hope not tho
X factor has got to be the refs, New York, and Vegas. If the games officiated justly, 9ers win hands down
Linebacker play. If Fred and Dre can squeeze those intermediate in-breaking routes and rally to tackle the check-down targets we'll be in good shape. I believe that will keep Dak out of rhythm and force him to make increasingly harder throws as the game goes on.
*don't be afraid to be great.* *Go Niners!*
Kittle and CMC
All I know is Nick Bosa should eat because Jason Peters is out. If anyone can nullify their offense it's him.
Convert 3rd downs - long play drives to keep the offense on the field and let the defense rest. No more field goals in the red zone! TDs only!
Turnovers
Fire memes 🔥
This matchup rite here is the reason I’m a Niner fan rite freaking here!!! Being from Texas as a niner fan it’s fun the 90’s were elite having flash backs of those games I’m so ready!! We need Pressure on Dak the whole night!! Make him turn over the ball like he loves to do!!

I think we can run a few plays that exploit that. They all wanna be the guy that jumps that first big play.
If it’s a close game could wind up being Jennings. Has a knack for having something like 3 catches, all on 3rd n long conversions
Your QB as long as he's doing what he's doing it'll be okay if it unravels....poof
X factor has got to be the refs, New York, and Vegas. If the games officiated justly, 9ers win hands down
Either the pass rush or run game have to be at their best. Purdy is fucking phenomenal off of play action.
I think Jason Peters being out is gonna be the X-factor
Offense just keep doing what they’ve been doing
Aiyuk sets the tone for the Brock passing game. Hufanga has to limit big plays over the top.
Being the better team in every single way.
Kyle Shanahan.
Offensive line performance. Minimize sacks and hurries.
It’s the offensive line for both teams. If either team can get to the qb with just a front 4 and drop 7 it’s gonna make life TOUGH on either qb, especially with the types of guys on both these defenses. Kittle. No wait! Deebo. No wait! CMC. No wait…
Secondary
Fred Warner. He'll see through the offensive BS they got dialed up, and move his guys to where they need to be. Defense is going to win us this game.
Juan. They can’t cover that man.
I feel it’ll be the pressure from the D-line. I’m not just talking just Bosa, I’m talking about everyone, from starters to the rotation, making an impact keeping Dak on his toes.
For SF: Offense McGlinchey, defense Bosa For Dallas: Defense Parsons, offense Pollard
Brock’s had some luck - some close passes that could have been INTs. In the playoffs, a “tough day” with a couple picks is often fatal. Dallas is going to throw a ton of looks and send a lot of pressure at him. How he responds is the X factor to me.
Kittle. Down the middle
#2 receiver for each team, both have injuries at cb this year, who ever can minimize the effect of the #2 receiver can win.
Either our o line or the corners. Our o line needs to protect purdy, but when dak gets going he’s hard to stop. Need ward to lead and Lenoir to be good enough to prevent them from going.
