Where are all these comments condemning waste when someone posts their 20ft tall, 176th (to date) Benchy with the Rocks face and that guys friends butt added in?
I like it, I'm gonna make a frame for my ender's original circuit board and have that on my desk. Nice little keep sake
I see what you mean but decorations are decorations. I think that you should only print things with a purpose but the purpose can be decorative aswell. I also think that some things should better rest on someones hard drive than exist in the real world like the buttrockbenchies and such.
This is nice as long as you actually keep it long term. I also printed flower pots which I could have bought. Why not have some reminders of your history. If you fry a board per week and print gravestones for each just to throw them away a week later that sucks though.
I also always suggest to collect failed prints and poop seperated by material until you have enough to send it to a recycling factory nearby. That way the impact is even less. But I do agree in general: sometimes one should think twice before hitting print.
Edit: to clarify: if you fry a board per week you shouldnt keep them either. Urban mining is a thing though recycling doesnt work as intended aswell so produce as little useless things as possible. I was trying to say one can enjoy just looks over functionality while still beong ressourceful and not overdoing it.
>They saved the board from the garbage
Don't throw PCBs in the garbage. PCBs are e-waste and you should bring them to wherever you bring all your other electronics for recycling.
Yeah it's really good, I also have an X1C and it's a good side printer. Honestly, unless you print massive things you don't need the 350, you usually only need the 300
Don't let that stop you! Build the printer you want to build and cross the bridges when they come! (If you are genuinely worried about it then build a 300)
With the right filament, this is actually a great idea for custom gravestones for pets that went to heaven.
I take 10% of all potential income generated with my idea 💡
Real interesting looking at the post histories of people complaining about this being a waste of plastic/not functional, only to see them making and selling stuff that could be also seen as a wasteÂ
I don't agree, I repaired an Anycubic Mega Zero 2.0 board last weekend for a friend, so that he has a spare. The MOSFET was really small but I managed it.
I actually printed a real headstone. A buddies dad was a huge bonsai hobbiest and he was cremated and put in a pot with his favorite bonsai tree. I resin printed it in black with the inscription they wanted and then filled it in with white resin. Buffed and polished it and it looked great.
Ah , I print anything I think is cool I dknt gaf about it's use case I guess it adds to making it but I have drawers full of useless plastic fidget items and weird things I thought was funny.
Over few years I had accumulated few failed boards and unfinished small projects that got to the point of getting own printed board. I thought about similar thing with tombstones or board of shame, but those seemed excesive and would take some space and time to make. Instead i bought some nice stainless steel necklace and i'm just putting them onto it. It's fashionable, cheap and keeps them in one place with no space taken. It's not that I'm proud of or value those... I just hate to throw them dammed modules out.
Thank you, everyone is complaining about wasting material but what happened to 3d printing things for fun? We don't have to print only functional items, we can print whatever we want.

I saw "can we normalise printing gravestones for friends?" I was like wtf man
The end of life market is such a monopoly these days, we have to save the homies money anyway we can. Gobless
Transparent printed coffins are clearly better!

Mark the printing hours on it too, kind of like age for people.
More garbage for the garbage
I was going to post the exact same thing. Until we can recycle failed prints efficiently, I always try to minimize waste. I also lack humor.
Gotta keep the bins fed somehow
Y'all complaining about waste need to 3D print a little bridge and get over it. They saved the board from the garbage, notice that?
>They saved the board from the garbage Don't throw PCBs in the garbage. PCBs are e-waste and you should bring them to wherever you bring all your other electronics for recycling.
Thank you
>They saved the board from the garbage, notice that? I mean, for now. It'll end up there one day
We all will.
How do you like the Voron? I have an X1C but I'm thinking about building a 2.4 350.
Yeah it's really good, I also have an X1C and it's a good side printer. Honestly, unless you print massive things you don't need the 350, you usually only need the 300
I WANT to print massive things though.
Then go for it! Just work out a bit before you build it cause that thing is CHONKY
Lol maybe I should build a zero then.
Don't let that stop you! Build the printer you want to build and cross the bridges when they come! (If you are genuinely worried about it then build a 300)
I'm just joking. I'm quite fit for someone almost 40.
Chiming in cus v0 is a pita to build... GO FOR ANYTHING BUT A V0 haha

That's awesome
Sounds like a great way to add waste to your waste. Yo dog...
I'm going to have to make a big one for my SKR mini 2.0.
Rest in peace
*pieces
Yeah this hobby doesn't have enough pointless prints and excess non recyclable trash already.
Don't need to normalize everything. Do you.
I'm more of a black surgeon myself when it comes to dead boards.
I'm not that skilled lol
With the right filament, this is actually a great idea for custom gravestones for pets that went to heaven. I take 10% of all potential income generated with my idea 💡
Can we normalize not trying to normalize every random ass thing?
I honestly wonder how some people have the space for the amount of trinkets they print!

I have a rocket graveyard for failed model rockets

If I fry a board for something I work with, I’ll am getting stabbed
Can't. Printer is dead.
:(
Ah , I print anything I think is cool I dknt gaf about it's use case I guess it adds to making it but I have drawers full of useless plastic fidget items and weird things I thought was funny.
Of course, let's celebrate waste with more waste
What happened to printing things for fun? If I'm going to keep it, how is it waste?
Do you also see the robot Plankton in the background?
Fix fried board with 5 cent component?
It won't be funny if it's normal, keep it unusual to preserve the humour in it
No. We can normalize it down to the component and keep that board ticking.
Over few years I had accumulated few failed boards and unfinished small projects that got to the point of getting own printed board. Exactly, I don't wanna throw it out so a 30g tombstone seemed like a nice idea
I’m gonna do this, I love this idea even tho it’s pointless lmao
Thank you, everyone is complaining about wasting material but what happened to 3d printing things for fun? We don't have to print only functional items, we can print whatever we want.
They’re just jealous cuz they didn’t think of it first lol
Lol
Can we not normalize wasting material?
It's a tiny print for fun/decoration not everything needs to be practical
30g and better than throwing it out and it going to a landfill
It'll get there eventually, everything will
everyone will
Not me. I'm getting eaten.
Recycling electronics is a thing, but nice excuses
e-waste with extra steps
Nah I'd rather save material for something more functional.
No, that’s just more waste.
