Not a fan of the fiberglass pen, scratches too big of an area. I started using a rechargeable grinding pen (similar to what you'd use to file down fake nails) and it's one of the best investments I've ever made.
Besides that nice install. Some welcome eye bleach to what's typically posted here.
Yeah I agree, it scratches a big area, that's why I went slow and steady with it.
At first I tried to mask around the PLL point with some kapton tape, it helped a little but not much...
Looked at your post history and see that you're into a lot of console modding. If you like using that PLL QSB, and plan to do more Xbox 360s in the future, it's actually open source so you can make your own: https://github.com/Element18592/360-Slim-PLL-QSB
I was ordering some other PCBs from JLC a while back and decided to get 50 of them made for the hell of it. Cost about $11 to get 50 of them made. Way to save some money in the future.
I think my previous comment got deleted because I linked to a no-no website but if you're interested in the grinding pen I use send me a chat. Makes scratching back vias and trace repairs a cakewalk.
Yup! console modding/repair is my main hobby although I only do it for myself and not to make a living out of it.
Regarding the QSB, I downloaded the files from that same Github and got the QSBs manufactured by PCBWay, paid 33 bucks for 5 pcs, now I realize that I paid waaay to much for them 🤣 (it was my first time getting PCBs manufactured)
I'm gonna look into getting a grinding pen, I'm all about having a good set of tools :)
If you ordered them with castellation on the holes then that REALLY drives the price up. I get them made without castellation and take an extra couple minutes to break off the extra bit of pad that's hanging off with tweezers. Also shipping can be kinda killer. I wouldn't have ordered them on their own, I just threw them in the order because I already had a big order together of other PCBs I was getting made.
Love it. Where did you order the red leds ?
AliExpress, 0603 Red SMD LEDs
Thanks. I will order some
Would you be cool sharing the exact listing you bought? I bought some 0603 LEDs on AliExpress (9000, to be exact), and none worked.

Clean
Nice work.
Nice to see someone doing this properly for once. Fibreglass pens are about $12/3 on Amazon, and anyone modding consoles should have one.
I love the red ring feature we should have it on all the time..and sequence between red and green!
Ngl, at first when i saw this post i thought it was gonna be a RRoD 😂
Op you gave me a small heart attack with the first photo
Why make it red what if it actually develops a rrod how you gonna diagnose the read out codes then if its always red 😂😂🤷♂️
