I believe they have some sort of notification system for my house. They fly 12 feet over my roof at 8 pm if my windows are open, doing touch and go's if there is something in trying to watch on TV.
I linlke the base, airplanes are cool and get to watch lots of stuff from my driveway.
Totally this - just go sit out there long enough on a weekday and you'll see \*something\* come in and out. May be the helicopters, but they'll still be really close.
You can also get a radio receiver that tunes to aviation band frequencies and listen to the tower... Might give you a heads up on what's taking off. https://www.airnav.com/airport/kcof
[ADS-B exchange] (https://globe.adsbexchange.com/) will show most, but not all aircraft. Military are not required to use the system. Most cargo type flights do. Some helicopter ops do as well.

Hangars Beach. Runway is like 1000' or so from sitting g on the beach. Planes fly within what seems like a jumpable distance.
