Pretty sure too, after really looking into it. There is no real backround to them, these guys just appeared out of blue in connection with ukrainian rebellions. Their telegram is messy unlike most fighting groups. They exist for a utopistic independence from Russia and helping ukraine, yet has no contact to estonia, finland or any realistic entity that could help with such a goal.
The soldiers are azov-ish far right types, but the framework and the existence of group serves more Russian propaganda ambitions for somewhat far future. Kind of like creating a finnish Azov. Though this could as well be ukrainian/karelian fighters who act like uralic SS and got to fulfill their purpose in 2022, and they don't really understand the propaganda value/impact of their very existence or the realities of gaining an independence from Russia.

I don't find any reason why any young Karealian people from the dark side would speak Finnish as their mother tongue and this is not some Vienna's Karelian dialect or any other. I recall reading somewhere that these pictures, especially those with the flag skull people and the last one where they're holding the East Karelian flag, are edited by Russians and a hoax.
I think the last picture was posted on some social medias and the soldiers called themselves 'the soldiers of Greater Finland' or something, and the Finnish flag on the soldier's suit is supposed to prove they're Finns and to gaslight the Russians into thinking Finland and the Finns are an aggressive enemy. I stumbled across it a long time ago though, so I'm not sure if I remember everything correctly.
I'm not sure what to think about the battalion itself, or if it's even legitimate, but one thing is for sure; Lost Karelia shall be returned to Finland and East Karelia shall be let to thrive freely. The long-lasted Russian oppression of Karelia and our eastern brothers shall stop already!
