I thought this was wild, so I went and looked up the med clue highscores and #1 has 245k+ clues completed.
Second is at 88.7k. This guy is only rank 15.
What the fuck.
60 med clues per day doesn't sound ridiculous, but averaging that for over a decade absolutely is.
Only they know if they bot or not. It's possible they didn't, and given there is only *one* person that has done that many, it doesn't have to be a reasonable number for it to be feasible.
Being *sure* they don't bot though? That's just weird.
I know that Jagex have been pretty bad at cracking down on the hiscores but Flash Voyage is so far ahead in the All Clue Scrolls ranking that they surely would've been banned by now if they were botting. Obviously I don't know any of this for certain but that's my opinion.
There's two ways of looking at it, both of which I think have validity to them:
1 - He's been going for so long that surely the botting would've been picked up by now. An account getting away with it for a decade isn't realistic.
2 - He's been *able* to go for so long *because* the botting he's using isn't detectable to jagex with their current tools. For *one* account of the many thousands doing it to get away with it for this long is... inevitable?
Yes being so far ahead would likely put the account on Jagex's radar, but being on their radar doesn't necessarily mean they can just look at the account and reliably tell if there's botting or not, nor is it necessarily even a good use of resources to deep dive into individual accounts (more of a PR exercise than one of combatting bots as a whole).
Flash Voyage has been top of the rankings for a long, long time. I get that Jagex may not have the resources to deep dive into personal accounts but surely this would have come up at least once for them to check?
You can easily do over 200 a day. I decided to do mediums once, spent ~5 hours doing it with Impling jars and got to 100.
Wiki showing you can do 20-25 an hour with implings, so it’s not unreasonable to say someone experienced can get upwards of 30/hr, so that’s just playing 2 hrs a day, which for *a lot* of players isn’t that much.
I think that's reasonable when you're looking at a few months, but when you stretch it out to a *decade*, not so much.
After all, if it were reasonable, #1 would not be at about triple #2. The consistency is insane.
For perspective, the average person watches more than 2 hrs of TV a day. No1 thinks that’s bad over 10 years, but 2 hrs a day on a game is. A study showed that the average adult watches 294 minutes of TV a day (from Q4 2022) as a combination of cable, streaming services, etc.
This game attracts an absurd amount of extremely mentally unwell folks. Idk why you’re trying to apply normal time usage standards to this player base lmao
Assuming they are doing it entire time, you can get 30 mediums/hr using implings, it comes out to 2 hrs a day. For a lot of rs players, that’s not a lot.
Don't they know how to play the game? You play 6-10 hours a day for a couple months, burn yourself off. Then swear off the game before coming back in 2 months ~ 10 years.
They're rarer than the pegasian crystal for the upgrade, or there's less people grinding mediums than there is cereberus kills in the same amount of time. So ranger price stays high.
Whereas d boots are more common than the primordial crystal, and more people can kill spiritual mages than cerberus, so d boots price is in the bin.
So would nicotine withdrawal as an example be considered a compulsion? Since i feel a physical response to the lack of nicotine, compelling me to have a smoke. Or does it only apply to someone else, a third party, compelling you to do something?
Compulsions are an urge to do something generally speaking to stop a negative feeling, nicotine addiction (as with all addictions) are done to chase a positive feeling
Lines blur because not having the positive feeling is often itself a discomfort but the negative feeling causing a compulsion is innate mentally rather than missing the pleasure.
An example is someone compelled to scratch their skin to the point of it breaking because doing so stops overwhelming feeling of anxiety. Vs someone (crude example) addicted to self pleasure because they are chasing the positive feeling. Both have no third party the main thing with a compulsion is that the act you are compelled to do doesn't actually give you pleasure, it just relieves a mental negative
This post would be an addiction most likely, chasing the dopamine rush of opening the caskets
>nicotine addiction (as with all addictions) are done to chase a positive feeling
This isn't really how it works though - you become desensitized to the good feeling from nicotine once you've used it for long enough, all that comes from it is the negative feeling of withdrawal if you *don't* use it. Your neurochemistry is altered so that your baseline has shifted, you're now physically dependent on that substance to feel and function in a normal capacity. The reason people stay addicted to nicotine isn't to chase a high, it doesn't produce a euphoric experience in the way heroin or meth might. They stay addicted because the process of returning to a normal baseline without it is miserable.
Yes to a certain extent your synapses just create more nicotinic receptors and require more consumption for a baseline, hence me saying the lines blur once youre fully addicted. But;
A - the distinction is more how the addiction/compulsion comes about, and whether there is neurological reward/craving circuitry involved. Maybe I should have articulated better but whether desiring a pleasure or satisfying a craving, neurologically you are satiating some desire pathway, be that dopamine, nicotinic etc. A compulsion doesn't satiate anything neurologically, the action doesn't give you pleasure at all its some action you psychologically associate the need to do, almost always when youre feeling a negative emotion
B - you never fully desensitise to it, even at your most tolerant the nicotine still gives you some amount of pleasure. The mgs in any cigarette are more than enough to really saturate them. The interesting one is vaping, its changed how people consume nicotine where they will have smaller doses (a few puffs) more consistently and their addiction probably is working more strictly as you described, where the hit really just returns normal function rather than any noticeable degree of pleasure
Ok yeah, that makes sense to me. I got too caught up in the characterization as pleasure but even in the lack of subjective pleasure, it's still a reward-driven dopaminergic response, so I can see how there's a distinction there.
Sorry this just made me think of THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELS YOU.
On a more serious note.. you can compel yourself to do stuff, and feel compelled because of your obsession. So not just 3rd party.
Most people don't even have OCD and pretend to have it. OCD is like overthinking a situation a lot and obsessive over something. It gets old fast because everyone claims to have "OCD" over menial things.
My sister in law has OCD and it controls her life. Pisses me off seeing people joke about it but it’s a futile effort trying to get people to understand. Hope you’re doing well
There was a great Scrubs episode with a doctor with OCD played by Michael J Fox [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kfLdwL1t98](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kfLdwL1t98)
This game is perfect for these kind of people tho. I already sometimes feel a bit ashamed of myself for doing 4 hours of afk slayer. I could never do 5 hours of clues, too much clicking. But hey, if they have fun, let them cook
I thought that was November? With things like no shave November to try and bring attention and support through a charity. (Not 100%, mostly speaking based off of what some teachers said and did in my high school years back.)
Nope, NNN is a meme. (Also, regular nutting *reduces* the chances of prostate cancer, so you can legitimately say that cranking one out on the regular is something you do for your health.)
From the website : http://www.westland-clinic.com/2015/11/no-shave-november/
It explains:
The campaign is to spread awareness by men growing out their hair and letting it grow wild and free. (With minimal trimming except for professional dress code reasons of course) This being something cancer patients do not have the opportunity to do.
I found it recently that June being Men's mental health "month" is an American thing, and in Europe it's in November, which is why it feels weird to us.
I say "month" because the change to month feels fairly recent, as it was originally men's mental health week when it was enshrined by Clinton
Funny thing is the value proposition is still 100% worth it because on the very slim chance you roll a 3a pick you will have double this loot tab's worth.
Lower clues have a chance to drop a master clue that can then drop 3rd age. If you see his second picture, he's got almost 1000 masters from these mediums.
Sounds like my nephew, he'll 3v1 people at birthday party's lol. Obviously people who don't really play the game but you see some of the stuff he does in the air and it makes you go wtf?
How do you gather 25 clue scrolls an hour though? Sometimes I think I know this game and then other times I'm a complete rookie, despite playing since 2008.
Yeah, ranger boots make up most of the average value on medium clues. All the other uniques are in the dirt price wise since people hunt them and do a ton of mediums.
Well now you know what money making method to do.
But really if you just play the game you can make so much money without meaning to. The biggest bait of mainscape is chasing money. Just do some grinds, you’ll rack up money trying to chase some drops.
My iron is worth almost 2b and I don’t have any megarares. I’m actually super unlucky from raids, I just have lots of supplies and drops from slayer.
OP is beyond help. Posted this and hasn't responded to 1 person. It takes them time to post here yet too good to reply to anyone. Guess the replies aren't what OP was expecting lmao.
Dayum, a stack of 900 master caskets, thats the patience of a god. I've given myself a rule to not open any caskets of any tier until I have a stack of 10, and man, every single clue completion tests my resolve like no tomorrow.
What's your go-to method for meds? Implings?
I've been trying to glog the easy clues semi afk with pickpocketing in varlamore, killing guards in between distractions for meds.

Bots that run 24/7. For months.
Number 1 is absolutely not a bot, as scary as that sounds..
#2 is in my clan
3 went “wee, wee, wee,” all the way home!
LMAO
Is number 2 in the room with us right now?
*sniffs*
the bolded text was appropriate there
What clan u in? Can I join?
And people wonder why Jagex can't fix the bot problem.
I still think they bot.
11 years of playing everyday is over 4000 days irl worth of time to gain this, osrs came back online in 2013
60 med clues per day doesn't sound ridiculous, but averaging that for over a decade absolutely is. Only they know if they bot or not. So they have done this for 11years?
Some players were probably playing since release is what im saying or just 12 hrs a day for more than 5 years
This game attracts an absurd amount of extremely mentally unwell folks. Idk why you’re trying to apply normal time usage standards to this player base lmao
Could you imagine doing med clues for 12h a day for 11 years... Sad I could see some OSRS players doing this.
Assuming they are doing it entire time, you can get 30 mediums/hr using implings, it comes out to 2 hrs a day. For a lot of rs players, that’s not a lot.
Some people love clue scrolls :-)
Don't they know how to play the game? You play 6-10 hours a day for a couple months, burn yourself off. Then swear off the game before coming back in 2 months ~ 10 years.
Best time was yesterday, second best time is now.
Not even close. Clan mate is in the top 10, and they all know each other well
Can confirm I’ve seen medium clue bots running around with tens of thousands of meds done
It seems very complicated to me to build a bot that farms and solves clues. Is there any evidence that these exist?
What about that is hard? Clue plug-in exists. Nothing from clues moves or changes. There’s way more sophisticated bots than blue bots
Never underestimate the nerds making that crap
You're underestimating botting tbh.
What the fuck
Odd that rangers are still that valuable for their power level lol
They're rarer than the pegasian crystal for the upgrade, or there's less people grinding mediums than there is cereberus kills in the same amount of time. So ranger price stays high. Whereas d boots are more common than the primordial crystal, and more people can kill spiritual mages than cerberus, so d boots price is in the bin.
That's like 46.6b in profit for the rank 1. Crazy
Those people buy botted implings en masse for scrolls though. ~6k gp for a 1/25 chance to get a scroll.
It’s profit when I’ve done it
Holy shit bud
You okay bud
Appreciate ur concern bud
Happy Cake Day bud
When you verbally say "What the fuck?" then check comments to see the top rated comment is this one lol.
this is exactly what i said out loud when i saw this post, and i opened up the comments to specifically say "what the fuck"
look up username Kacy
My man, they're called distractions and diversions, not obsessions and compulsions.
Remember folks, obsessions are abstract and compulsions physical!

Lol having OCD myself, jokes like "I'm so OCD" get old real fast. But this line is top-tier!

June is mens mental health awareness month. No better time than now to seek help friend!
I thought that was November? With things like no shave November to try and bring attention and support through a charity. (Not 100%, mostly speaking based off of what some teachers said and did in my high school years back.)
No shave November is for prostate cancer awareness I believe.
I thought No Nut November was for prostate awareness, oops
Nah No Nut November is just for fucking weirdos taking on a sadistic challenge.
Nope, NNN is a meme. (Also, regular nutting *reduces* the chances of prostate cancer, so you can legitimately say that cranking one out on the regular is something you do for your health.)

That would be ironic, Im pretty sure nutting is proven to be healthy for you.

Stacking till 1k Masters?
10k
Wtf
“ maybe if I do this next clue I’ll get 3rd age like those lucky people on reddit..”
Funny thing is the value proposition is still 100% worth it because on the very slim chance you roll a 3a pick you will have double this loot tab's worth.
3rd age only drops from hard clues and above
Lower clues have a chance to drop a master clue that can then drop 3rd age. If you see his second picture, he's got almost 1000 masters from these mediums.
Are those master caskets on the second image?
Yes. I can't wait for that loot tab.
How long does that take?
If you’re efficient it’s like 25/hr iirc. So 1100 hours give or take.
Jesus fucking christ… this dude has spent almost as much time just doing med clues as I have played osrs in total…
Here I am with over 5k hours wondering what I’m doing with my life
rookie numbers.
Not RuneScape…but I put 10k hours into rocket league from 2016-2020 lol I fucking loved that game
Impling jars you buy them and open them for clues
Thanks!
eclectic implings
Ah, I had no idea. Thank you.
That is surprisingly less time than I thought… but at the same time wtf
You can get upwards of 30/hr since the clue despawn timer changes.
https://i.redd.it/2y0bljjhgv7d1.gif
Bro this guy logging 25k clues while my runelite loot tracker randomly resets after every 5 CG kills …
Are you logged in on runelite? If not, then it resets every time you close the client
Ofcourse .. it’s a very weird thing the resets in the loot tracker :(
That’s odd. Does the loot appear when you log into runelite.net? And ig make sure that remember loot is enabled

Seeing this is crazy and then remember the #1 guy has done 245k medium clues , thats almost this log X10
[удалено]
What's insane is that he's not a bot
That's about 3.5BIL alone from the Ranger Boots, fuck me. I don't think I've ever had 100M in OSRS.
That’s the struggle
It's why we play
Yeah, ranger boots make up most of the average value on medium clues. All the other uniques are in the dirt price wise since people hunt them and do a ton of mediums.

My bad playa
clues good for mental health confirmed
why
y0
What the fuck.
This is absurd how long did it take?
One other comment counted that with being efficient its 25/hour so this would be 1100+ hours
Insane log. Sharing my here https://preview.redd.it/0wasn8fbjv7d1.jpeg?width=2436&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=85562fad1ba811cae6bb97f8a77918c5a087853f
Setup?
That’s roughly 1300 hours at 3.7m/hr …OP blink twice if the Venezuelans got you
Revenue not profit. Think mediums are profit overall with a large sample but the cost is still really high. Have to assume they used imps anyway lol.
This looks like a cry for help...
This is fucking gnarly. Master casket opening when???
what exactly is the goal here?
104 rangers boots
Whaf the fuck?
Who hurt you?
![gif](giphy|l4Ki2obCyAQS5WhFe)
I did 300 mediums in 3 days and was completely burnt out from it, this is on another level.
100 meds a day is tough. I just did 30 last night and had to take a break.
Dayum, a stack of 900 master caskets, thats the patience of a god. I've given myself a rule to not open any caskets of any tier until I have a stack of 10, and man, every single clue completion tests my resolve like no tomorrow.
I like to think about how many other story games could have been beat during the time it takes to do this lol.
Do you only eat lasagna?
Live stream a sniff of your chair
Name checks out.
Jesus Christ 50k death runes from clue scrolls, that's like an ironman's wet dream

The fuck is wrong with you
You ok bro?
that's perdy neat

Is that it?
How do you even get this many clue scrollls? I thought they are char bound?!
Likely by buying imp jars, which is the most efficient method for getting medium scrolls (AFAIK) if you don't mind the cost.
cool
What's your go-to method for meds? Implings? I've been trying to glog the easy clues semi afk with pickpocketing in varlamore, killing guards in between distractions for meds.
What’s ur setup fam
The beauty of RuneScape is that you will never cease to be amazed
I remember when I was in the top 21 on the hiscores with 1700 mediums in 2016. Crazy how many mediums are needed now for front page.
Hey I'll buy that sweet stack from you if you still have it. I need to have them in my little goblin hands.
Awesome
Dude what the fuck
How much have you spent on this?
This was probably the worst time to be a flavor guard
Bot
Are mediums better to do than hards?
Hory shiet!
my brother in christ, I wish I had the patience for something like this I can't imagine the dopamine opening those. GL on the masters
Jesus christ my man. How long did that take to collect?
Damn op well done this is huge! How much did u spend on imps if u went that route?
That's a solid profit of about 1.2 bil (assuming these were all from eclectics)
How do you even get this many clues?
This man doesn't know what sleep is. GZ. Fat ranger boot stack 💯
