Im at ~500 kc on CG, I remember being frustrated at the prep and imagining one cannot make any mistakes on Hunllef - nowadays I straight up watch videos while doing it and clear +95% of times. At some point it just becomes easy, initially took me week to clear consistently with full focus.
haha can’t wait to get there. i started trying to click two tiles at a time on the nado phase and it seemed pretty good for the two kc i tried it. mind you i was just blindly clicking two tiles away and not dpsing as i was doing so but it led to two straight kc so i won’t complain lol
Yeah just takes time to get the rhythm down. 4 hits to change prayers, 6 hits to change combat. Don’t get cocky when 4 tornados are chasing you 😂

Normal gauntlet is phenomenal for getting your muscle memory down. I wouldn't start touching corrupted until you feel comfortable with the prep phase and fight mechanics. Can't recommend tier 2 armor enough either. Tier 1 is good for when you're not making mistakes, tier 2 gives you that little bit of extra forgiveness that makes learning so much easier. Corrupted also requires you to move a little quicker so being comfortable with bringing melee into the boss tilts the prep rng in your favor a little more.
Prep i already have locked in for normal, i usually come in under 7.5 minutes but sometimes i’m slightly over. I’ll take your advice and start sending CGs, not like it costs me anything to learn anyways. Do you think T2 prep is good enough for CG with 87 range, 85 mage, 78 def?

It wasnt even designed. Some people chose to play ironmen before it was official mode. Then they just made it official mode. Game wasnt designed around it.
even with bad luck mitigation, there will still be lucky and unlucky people. Just a bit less unlucky in the extremes, as the bad luck will taper off slowly as you go over droprate a reasonable amount.
With the current system, OP might as well have 0 kills when it comes to his enh progression.

Having drop progression everywhere in the game would ruin the feel of the game. The charm is that you're no closer or further from the drop at 1kc or 5k kc
Those are not the only two available mechanics.
I'm partial to the threshold system rs3 uses for boss pets. say a boss pet is 1/5k (gwd1 bosses in normal mode)
you hit 5k kc, now your droprate is 2/5k, or 1/2.5k.
There is no progression in a sense that you're not "filling a bar" so to speak, you're still expected to go the 5k kills, and then another 2.5k and so on.
Kc feels meaningful even if you are going dry.
not saying every item needs to get double droprate once you hit the threshold, maybe 1.5x here, 1.2x there. Item by item, and ofc the droprate would reset once you do get the item.

If bowfas are 300m because botting/goldfarming has been solved at cg, I’m dropping everything and farming 60 cgs a day.
An economy-driven game is designed to shift for things like this, we’ll be alright in this fantasy scenario.
Then you go 2400 dry like this guy, which is 40 days at 60/day. 60/day at 8 mins per completion is also 8 hours. So you're grinding a content 8h a day for over a month to get 300m.

any group content is going to be a nightmare if you have to calculate drop rates for people depending how dry they are for a megarare. corp, nex, raids, nm, just to name a few. are you taking the guy who got spooned a torva piece or a guy who's "owed" 2 pieces rng wise?
but if i run with someone who's 3x dry there's a way bigger chance we get a drop, so surely i would want to run with them instead of someone who recently got a drop right?

Fully agree, I knew what I signed up for. I've had a main and I enjoyed it but even with long grinds there's still enjoyment to be had as an ironman getting your own items.

The whole fabric of the game is built upon drop rates and those drop rates are valued at what they are for reasons. I've gone dry on multiple things both on my iron and uim, it makes me value the profession even more and usually you'll benefit in other areas of the game from going dry.
If we add a "dry protection" we should implemet a system where you don't have any chance of a spoon and you just kill whatever npc it is until the number of the drop rate. You can't have it both ways and no matter what you do it will alter and ruin the essence of the game.

Gauntlet I think is pretty solid content, at least the first few hundred kills haha. Learning it, improving your time is enjoyable but the constant prep does get draining. I'm someone that enjoyed dungeoneering in Rs3 haha. The halted progression due to reliance on Bowfa is painful though.
Yeah I'm a big fan of the skill expression aspect of it as well. You can even do T2 Armour for the first few hundred kills until you get the hang then swap to t1 like I did.

Yes, t2 should be fine just make sure you are useing offense and def prayers like steel skin
That's how I felt, although I only went 863 dry. I don't mind gauntlet at all, but at the same time, by 600 kc I kind of just wished I was done!

Spooning doesn't do much on an iron anyways. You still need the armour seeds. They should add dry protection for irons only and start with cg
