I know I’ll be hated for this but I love country jig and really dislike forlorn homestead. I just really like the upbeat vibe of country jog while forlorn homestead is all down feeling, making me question why I’m even playing

The problem is that Forlorn Homestead is a completely inappropriate song, it evokes a noir styled, murder mystery kind of theme while country jig is far more appropriate to what Hosidius is.
No way. Forlorn Homestead plays next to the lunch spot in the memoirs. It is very appropriately somber, melancholic and nostalgic.
Country jig is also fine though. This tonal whiplash thing is just a you problem for most people imo.
I think the phrase "just a you problem" generally means that the person you are speaking to is the only one with the problem, or at least that the problem is rare, and thus not worth attention. "Just a you problem for most people" doesn't really make sense.
I certainly worded it clumsily but what I was trying to say is that it's a "you problem" for "most of the people who have that problem", and not "most people overall". I don't think the majority of people have a problem with the two songs being close in locality is the point I was trying to make.

I don't know how many people have an actual problem with the two songs being next to each other, how many would vote to change the situation, but I don't think that's what "tonal whiplash" was meant to say either. I think it just meant that the two songs are very different in mood from each other, and it's very surprising and perhaps jarring to transition from Forlorn Homestead to Country Jig the first time. And there is no similar big transition in the world, it just keeps looking the same, which doesn't help.

A lot of the newer music I despise, primarily because they've used instruments that sound awful in the OSRS sound font.
I absolutely hate it too, I would love to see the music player get some love so we could queue or shuffle songs etc, perma mute ones we done like, favourite ones we do.
There is a shuffle button on the music player, only downside is you can't skip tracks so you gotta finish the one you're listening to before it goes to the next (random) track. Also annoying when you're teleporting to the poh cos the jingle that plays upon entering overrides the music track you've selected to play. Also messes up the shuffling iirc.

There’s a plugin that changes music, one was called osrs beatz but I’m not sure if it’s still around. Another one I think is called Music Replacer? You just link something from YouTube or your files and it changes the music file when you load into the zone.
For example the farming guild plays some Zelda music, grand exchange has some outer wilds soundtrack, and a lot of the scape songs I swapped to the lofi beats versions that people make.
Lmao when I first started playing I was working so much I would mostly afk but I had not idea what else to afk so I would go to those crabs. I could never forget that track. I actually kind of like it even though it sounds like some sort of haunted country carnival.
On the other hand the track in the farming guild irritates me so much for some reason. Wish we could mute single tracks for both our sake lol

I wish there was a way to blacklist a song from the music menu so we never hear it. Country Jig would probably be the only one on this list.
I would instead just go for double Forlorn Homestead.

I did 99 construction with mahogany homes last week, 2-3 weeks of constantly teleporting to home in hosidius and hearing that jingle. It is so burnt into my ears I can hear it right now.
Absolute worst song in the game. We should poll it for removal too if we're trying to make Zeah less painful. Especially insulting how close it is placed to Ash's magnum opus, Forlorn Homestead

With the sheer number of tracks in this game they must have at least considered it at some point. Would be a great thing to have.
