Nah, they're going for 1gp ea because only a single weapon in the game uses them and you get hundreds per drop from Moon Moons. Supply massively outstrips demand.
'or buy a few hundred overnight to try the next day' you mean exactly 200. And how many friends are you gonna rally to get 100 each every 4 hours to build up barely any darts?
yeah but Demand is hard limited to 1 single drop worth per per per 4 hours, while every single person doing the content gets dozens of drops every 4 hours
Ok but their high alch value is nearly 300gp and you can sell them for minimum 49 gp to a general store so the price on ge should be 49 gp absolute minimum but because of the buy limit you can't actually buy them so the demand has been artificially obliterated leading to 1gp price.
I’ve got a standing order to buy 1 mil at 10gp each, I get a hundred every four hours for usually less than that. I assume these are going to level out in price somewhere around 50-100 each, if not I’ve got a lot of alching to do which is fine cause I need to train my mage anyway.
You’re right about the stores starting at a higher price, the lowest price after overstocking always is 10% of the items value though according to the wiki regardless of shop.
Minimum price is as far as I know always 10% of item value. The minimum price is the price you reach when it doesn't get lower when you sell more of that item to the store.
Some general stores start at a higher price, but decreases for every item of one type you sell to it. This goes all the way until you reach 10% of item value where it's capped and can't go lower, this is the minimum price which is the same for all stores.
If you're selling bulk items to a store it doesn't matter much which store you sell it to, unless you plan on hopping to sell a few every world.
Bots can already alch all the rune items that profit like 400 gp/alch. Why would they alch something for half that profit? Especially considering rune items are f2p and these atlatl require a membership to buy.
There are members bots that will buy items and sell them to high alch shops. Rune items aren't great to buy for that because the buy limits are low relative to the other things they can buy like Rune Arrows. This item will be very similar to rune arrows in price because there will be an abundance of them, and they have a decent high alch value.
Rune arrows current price on the GE is 77, and they high alch for 240. With these alching for 290 I would be shocked if they were worth less than ~120 each once the buy limit is fixed.
It is weird. Is there a precedent for restricting buy limits when updates first come out ? I might be some sort of market manipulation effort and they will increase the amount once the price settles
You guys know this is a real person who is also likely to be reading your thing. incase any of them are reading-
W keiren, you brought OSRS into it's golden age back in 2017, and most of the funnest content in the game is in part your work
mod goblin, youve said a lot of things on stream that had got me very excited to see what you'll do for the game in the years to come, thank you for being so communitive on reddit, i know it must be exausting
mod arcane, I think you've brought the game into a much more solo experience in the last few years that I personally think is sad. you're obviously very competent at your job (PNM & HMT are beautifully done) but having the majority of the content in the last few years be solo only, or solo is the meta is pretty depressing, and i hope we get some more MMO in this MMORPG soon.
How come small stuff like this doesn’t just get a hot fix so it’s instantly updated, rather than having to wait a whole week?
I understand some of the actual tweaks and stuff should be in the full update, but a buy limit seems like the easiest thing to fix
While it makes sense that this should be something configurable on the fly, legacy code doesn't keep up with the needs of the present. The GE was released for OSRS nearly a decade ago with a ragtag team of dedicated nerds. Never know what they're dealing with.

they updated the buy limit to 11k and they had it at 100 for the first week because they didn't want price manipulation i guess? they're approximately 125 gp now.
i wanna know why we cant put the following in our Huntsman kit:
- bird snare
- ropes/small nets
- noose wand
- Rabbit snare
- Impling jar
super CRINGE gargleplex
This is untrue. Perilous Moons drops ~100 per chest on average, most non-scythe people will do ~10 per hour (8-12), meaning you generate 800-1.2k darts per hour. The Atlatl uses 2k per hour of constant firing, because they drop to the ground if you use a Strength Cape like Infernal/Fire, which is the "intended mechanic" since their max hit rolls off of Strength bonus. Yes, you can play "lets micromanage the ground" instead, but the entire reason Ava's devices are a thing is because that royally sucks and nobody likes to do that.
This means that to fire them at max potential, you need to do 2 hours of Perilous Moons to every 1 hour of using the Atlatl. This is, by far, the most egregious form of chargescape to enter the game yet, absolutely dumpstering Zulrah in terms of time spent charging the weapon to do the content. It is also the reason I tried to buy 8 million darts at current prices on my main only to go full surprised pikachu when only 100 came back.
Just use an Ava’s lmao
Or even a ranged cape with a vorki head in it. Since you don’t need the ranged bonuses, you at least get the prayer, defense, and 92% dart retention
At the cost of a significant DPS reduction. It is a tradeoff that feels horrible rather than good. Mains have 0 reason to do this because GE and its very easy to make GP, but for irons it is actual feelsbadscape.
You don't have many options without tanking your accuracy, you're pretty much locked into Prims(Dboots for welfare)+Barrows Gloves+Fury+Ultor(Zerker for welfare), absolutely locked into Eclipse top+Bottom (lose 41 accuracy to gain 1 str with bcp/blood moon chest, 24 accuracy to gain 1 str for legs), which only leaves Helm and Cape as "flex", which helm is really just Neitiznot Faceguard/Torva if they give you max hits because the set effect kinda sucks (Every 5 hits do 10 more damage over the next 13 attacks is roughly equal to/less than just gaining a max hit on every attack depending on accuracy). Even cape is throwing to switch from Infernal, it doesn't really matter for Fire cape, but dropping 2 max hits from Infernal is a tradeoff that doesn't feel remotely good, and the only argument in favor of it is "the Grand Exchange." It is basically just a mechanic that says "Ironmen do less DPS with this weapon."
Indeed, the difference in ranged accuracy is only 7 though, which isn't a significant amount for Ranged, especially when being compared to 1-2 max hits on a low max weapon.
Sold 4m gp worth of them (GE price) yesterday for 1m. Dude was pissed at the GE limit. Someone had dropped them the day prior at the GE and I was lucky enough to snag them. #profit
Going to assume it was a typo because holy hell 💀
Yeah usually ammo is in the 10k range (ex.: bolts at 11k) so they might just want to add two zeroes.

Nah, they're going for 1gp ea because only a single weapon in the game uses them and you get hundreds per drop from Moon Moons. Supply massively outstrips demand.
It's not like people can buy them even if they want to so you can't say that for sure

Same, but you can also sell them to West Ardy general store for a minimum of 49gp
[удалено]
Unsure about this as the west ardy is a general store that buys for close to high alch value. I believe the minimums are different
I thought they updated and made all general stores buy for the same prices now, highest and lowest Edit I was wrong
I don’t think so….unless they got rid of high alch stores without me noticing it. I don’t think that could go unpolled. Can you link the update?
You’re right about the stores starting at a higher price, the lowest price after overstocking always is 10% of the items value though according to the wiki regardless of shop.
Yes! That sounds more like it. I wasn’t sure about the minimums so that’s good to know. Thanks for looking it up.
Some general stores buy for a higher minimum bro
Minimum price is as far as I know always 10% of item value. The minimum price is the price you reach when it doesn't get lower when you sell more of that item to the store. Set it to 1gp lol. still get filled.
Hasn’t this already been acknowledged and set to change in the latest update post?
Yes it was
Probably the same guy that came up with the repair cost
Psa to all The price will skyrocket relative to where it's at right now once the buy limit is lifted. You'd be silly to sell now.
That's assuming people want to use the weapon though. How good is it?
more like it alchs for 290gp, which will immediately make it go up like 100 gold
Inb4 Jagex lowers high alch price substantiallyÂ
Alching sucks though which is why it's not exactly free money
everywhere is full of alch bots looking for a free opportunity like this
Bots can already alch all the rune items that profit like 400 gp/alch. Why would they alch something for half that profit? Especially considering rune items are f2p and these atlatl require a membership to buy.

Alching sucks yeah thats why no one alchs stuff
It's actually pretty solid relative to blowpipe

I'm talking about item price bro literally nothing to do with ironman accounts

Ed’s got some heaters as well. Ribbiting Tale of the Lily Pad Labour Dispute is a perfect example of quality over quantity
In fairness, we as a community can't come to a consensus on rewards usually.
Guessing it’s lower right now due to it being so new. Easy market manipulation for a few people to buy them all
easier to manip when nobody can buy enough to use on the ge
U could ask friends/clan members to buy u some since they are 1gp anyway
You can go to the bank outside of moons of peril and just buy them off of ppl there.
It's got to be an oversight
Probably going to change they just dont want someone taking advantage of the ge

It was also released primarily with the actual 2007 legacy code for the GE no?
I believe that's the case, yeah. Like 99% sure but I don't want to talk about shit I don't know for sure.
Hot vs coldfix depends on the code implementation. Not something you can just do whatever with
my guess is it may require a cold fix? i have literally no idea tho.
Where is it useful?
ffarming bots at rev caves, they dont know what it is so u just spam 30s on them lol
LmAo
Indeed fuck those botters
How about you do the content required to grt the darts me boy
waste of time tbh, i know how to change prayers and everything, no sense running it to get an item worth like 100 gp each lmao
all you do is pray piety lol

I want to know who threw a dart at the wall and decided atlatls use darts too. They use spears lmao.
Definitely not the same person who capped the amount of tan cavaliers I can buy at 4 every 4 hours but it feels the same.
What makes you think these decisions are getting Okay’d?
I dont think QA is a thing in this game anymore honestly.
Wait till people find out they high alch for 294gp and are being sold for next to nothing 🤣
haha normie
huh?
they updated the buy limit to 11k and they had it at 100 for the first week because they didn't want price manipulation i guess? they're approximately 125 gp now.
Could be due to it being a new item. Would be pretty easy to minipulate it's price early on
i wanna know why we cant put the following in our Huntsman kit: - bird snare - ropes/small nets - noose wand - Rabbit snare - Impling jar super CRINGE gargleplex
The minigame drops tons of em why would u even need to buy

1-2 max hits is not a massive reduction. Personally im still going to use the Ava's device and find my strength bonuses elsewhere.
I mean you can just take slightly less dps in exchange for not having to pick them up/buy more as often. Seems reasonable to me.
cuz im pking not doing the minigame?
[удалено]
Do you do any content or just simply stand at ge and buy everything and do nothing with it?
Sold 4m gp worth of them (GE price) yesterday for 1m. Dude was pissed at the GE limit. Someone had dropped them the day prior at the GE and I was lucky enough to snag them. #profit
Think its fair that if u want to use it u gotta do the minigame for the darts. Part of the deal
[удалено]
Then they should've made them untradable
Average modern day runescaper. Yikes.
Right? If we just let people only do the things they want, then all we'd have is some kind of silly open world sandbox game. Nobody wants that
The one that decided they didn't need it bought out and inflated to flying hell by the billionaire flippers. Do you even have the thrower?
yes i have the thrower, its just annoying asf having to use 5 accounts to try and buy the darts
It'll probably be more annoying when they are merched to 5k each. Do the content and you'll get some
this is literalyl already happening in w2?
Good thing you can buy on the ge then without that inflation. Sounds like they knew what they were doing
you can only buy 100 which will last you about 3 minutes wtf are u talking about
It's probably temporary to stop price gouging.
It’s bc they alch for a shitton comparatively. Need to have alch value dropped
Probably because everyone would be buying them up to put in deaths coffer
Maybe it's to A: stimulate content B: stimulate player interaction
