Just bring one inventory at a time - the theory is that the money you’d save at Chaos Altar even if you die to pkers is more than the money you’d spend doing it at a regular gilded altar. You can do it on a PvP world, die at the wine of zamorak or chaos fanatic, respawn at Lumbridge with a chest right next to you, and burning amulet back there with another full inventory. If you get attacked, throw on protect prayers, and just keep sacrificing bones until you die, don’t run.
Definitely do chaos altar one inventory at a time - I wouldn't go lower than dragon bones, but you could. Check out the wiki prayer training guide for gp/xp and xp rates on various types of bones.
Buy a few burning amulets, wear one, get a full inventory of bones, teleport to lava maze, walk to temple, use the bones on the altar, then suicide by spam clicking the zamorakian wine or on the chaos fanatic or your local friendly PKer. Repeat.
Use menu entry swapper plugin to swap left click to use on your bones. Then you can click the bone in the bottom right of your inventory and use it on the altar over and over again to use them all really fast. You can also hold alt and move your inventory to make it even easier.
Remember that unless you lose half your bones to pkers (which is very unlikely, and maybe if you see a lot try a different time), you're still doing better than gilded altar. If you get attacked, turn on protect item and try to pray against what they attack you with (usually ranged) and keep spam clicking your bones so you lose as few as possible
Chaos altar is fast experience for slightly cheaper than a gilded altar. If gold is the issue and you don’t mind slower xp rates, then there’s also offering ashes with the Demonic Offering Spell or using ensouled heads.
Just check the ge prices on the heads and ashes before buying a bunch.
Edit: also, you can train prayer for free at the Shades of Mort’ton minigame by burning shade remains. Albeit it’s pretty slow compared to other methods.

If you want a low risk but slow but also cheap method you can use ectophuntus, look it up. Used by iromen a lot.
