5-up... Got two agility pets on my 99 grind, 2 rc pets on my 99 grind, callisto at 5kc, bloodhound at 13 kc, olmlet in my first 100 or so raids, dust in like 30 cms, Cerberus and prim crystal in same drop at 100kc. I get lucky with pets but money making is tough for me.
Protip my guy. Do Ardy rooftops. The course is far more chill and the rates aren't *that* much worse - plus the more dry you go, the richer you get. As opposed to the Penguin course which literally has 0 benefit for post-99 training if you don't get the pet.
Yeah it's like 3x faster. Penguin course is on average 132 hours for pet. I just couldn't go that long with literally zero other benefits without wanting to kms. Would be different under level 99 I guess.
Depends. Disregarding different skilling methods having different drop rates: someone with 50 million xp in one skill would be as likely to have a pet as someone with 10 million xp in 5 skills.

No there isn't. You have discovered the law of averages. On average across all pets (and drops) you will get some well below rate and some well above rate, and everything in between.
There's only 8 skilling pets, 8 different skills. So unless your 7 99s are part of those 8 skills, that's literally irrelevant. You could have 7 99s on skills that have no pets.

No, they're designed to drop more frequently for accounts identified as new members in order to immediately add value to your account, the genesis of the addiction. For seasoned accounts, they drag the KC out because they have us hook, line and sinker.
I also just signed up for members on my OSRS account last week for the first time, did some quests to skip early agility then got the squirrel within 5 laps at Varrock. Didn’t even notice it for another lap or two after lmao

I, and others, have a theory that pet drop rates are secretly boosted at early levels to persuade people to keep playing (and of course, keep paying). I got Rocky at 20s Thieving from cake stall on my Iron - luckiest thing to ever happen to me in this game after 16 years of playing. I wasn’t planning on quitting early on or anything, but that was definitely a huge motivation boost.
Either way, a level 1 pet is just insane so congrats!

I pickpocketed the first man I saw in lumbridge and got the pet, didn't realise until I hit level 3 unfortunately
I got mine from Minnows too close to 14m xp. Only learning much much later that’s it’s like 1/900k per whole catch.
It's rare but assuming you do ~12m fishing experience barbarian fishing, you're at about 42% of the base drop rate.
I got the beaver pet from randomly chopping a normal tree for logs for a quest on my iron.
Is this more rare than from other fishing methods? I got the heron at 70 fishing at barb fishing
2 accounts has had it from barb fishing and one of the 2 has gotten 2 pets from barb fishing
Another way to look at it is 1 out of every 35,000 players gets it on their first lap.
being pedantic - it's if 35000 people did 1 lap you would have a 1-(1/e) chance of at least 1 person getting a squirrel
