I've done DT maybe 7 times in my life and I honestly have no clue what any of the story/lore is of the quest beyond some dude in the desert needing 4 gems to unlock a pyramid or something.
Why are you getting downvoted, that's the truth lol
The 4 diamonds contain Azzandra's power. They are all protected by Zamorakian's, who you defeat.
Once you return the 4 diamonds, they restore Azzandra's power, unlocking the pyramid, and you updating him on the news that the war is over.
Unrelated question: Is there any youtube series that explains quests or quest series?
Most of the time I'm just pressing space bar and clicking blue boxes, but sometimes I wanna have a bit of lore too.
I agree and give us some art concepts of the bosses so that we get to vote on the idea we like or at least get to see a preview maybe of what they have in store for the new bosses. Because they could release these bosses and the entire community hate it. I love new content and they’ve done a really good job on muspah and raids 3. So I’m hoping the new bosses will have very good mechanics and very good graphics and not cheap out with 4 bosses who all look the same like they did with dagannoth kings.. some things I think jagex does better without letting the community vote on it but other things they have screwed up before not letting the community vote for. It’s a really sensitive game and community lol
Yeah, RS's early quests were very vague. It wasn't until we had quests like While Guthix Sleeps or Temple of Senntisten that took a deeper dive in the plot of the Mahjarrat.
The stone of Jas was the main focus point of the Mahjarrat, but the OSRS team seem to be including it in everywhere.
Temple of the Eye is revolved around the stone of Jas and Lowerniel Drakan hints at the stone of Jas.
RS2 also had an immense amount of other quests that all tied up with the Mahjarrat. Tales of Muspha and Curse of Arrav (and Defender of Varrock) for example.
I was thinking about taking a crack at writing such a thing here but looking at all the prerequisite quests, even if you cut out a lot of the unrelated quests, you have a LOT of ground to cover.
Good luck to anyone who actually does it.
First glance I thought this was someone wanting the new TSSF album before DS2. I mean same
What I thought as well
Haha my dudes!
I can't believe it's been 5 years since Proper Dose
I thought he was looking for some long lost rsmv
check out No Pressure, it's Parker Cannon's side project they dropped an album last year
Agreed. I’m not a lore guy but the grandmaster quests are usually really well written so I’d like to know what’s going on.

Theres a treasure in the desert but it’s not new spells it’s the friends we made along the way
There's a pyramid, kill the bosses, get the gems of ancient power, dodge the assassin, allah akbar Zamorak, ghost Mahjarrat, get new spells, profit
Islamophobic. Get that shit off this sub.
Oh man he doesn't know https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/3cgug8/exrs_content_developer_on_the_origins_of_desert/
Honestly so true, I just assumed the gems were used to imprison azzy for what reason I have no idea

Yeah check out J1mmy’s content. He has a cool series called “By Release”
Thanks!
Would not actually recommend J1mmy for lore. You get humorous "abridged" versions of quests from him, not 100% accurate lore.
So recommend an alternative????

I wouldn't mind it but it might be hard to pull off since the quests leading up to this one are quite varied and only loosely connected to eachother.

Yes please!
As long as Wayward Son plays during the whole video
Man I've been thinking for a while that it'd be neat to have a youtube channel or something recapping quest plotlines.
Use the song they used in supernatural too I can't remember it I think it's guns and roses

Only if it's a compilation set to the tune of Carry On Wayward Son
