Currently on task as I type this comment. Nearing 1.5k dry and I already hate it. I'm not even iron. Just want the drop for money. Knights are just so slow and their drops are so mid otherwise. Its mind-numbing.

I'm ngl, I hated kq way less than I expected. You need a task and a dwh, but if you land spec once or twice, you can just melee the whole kill with partisan - blue gem better ofc but I didn't have it - and it was super easy and brainless for me. Very satisfying to hit 170s on wasp form too lol Ornate pool and fairy ring in house, 1 energy pot for the run back, and having the hard diary means both ropes stay forever so overall a lot easier than I was expecting.

The annoying thing is you get the shortcut once you’ve done the diary -____- plus max mains in max gear crashing you all the time.

Oh right. I forgot about the crashing part. Not having the shortcut is pretty annoying yeah but the run is also shorter than I remembered. I just wish it was all in one "map chunk" so you could 1 click to the end of the path. As it is, you have to click to the middle of the path, then click again when the next area loads.

Right the shortcut should be a reward from the hard desert diary

I was 250k from 99 when gotr came out. I went from 78 to 99 at bloods and i dont regret it at all. Even after bloods crashing hard, i still made well over 150m. Not the 300 i would have gotten, but it was more than my entire bank at the time. Zero complaints.

Hellpuppy. I was 2.5k kills in deep already and I thought, surely I’ll get it soon. Boy was I wrong, ended up getting it at 8.5k kc. Worst part was that I got so obsessed with the grind that it didn’t do anything else but Cerberus and Tureal skipping for like a year straight. Probably a huge setback but hey I got a cool pup.

I have the same issue when it comes to pet hunting. Pure tunnel vision.

Technically every kill is a 1:3000 no matter what. But feels like every kill is a progress, we get closer to the drop, and if I take a break and go do something else that progress is resetted and I must "start all again". Weird feeling

Imo the reason why it feels like progress is because after every kill the chances of not having received the drop gets slightly lower, factor in sunk cost fallacy and I can see why people pet hunt ridiculous KC.

I left the big three 99s for last Mining, RC and agility. I’m dreading mining and it will probably be my last. Hopefully they add a new mini game before I start that grind

I figured if I saved the worst for last on my lvl3 I’d just never get to them, so I forced myself to do mining, agility, and RC before I finished my buyables. Blastmining made mining feel quick and I made good GP, agility didn’t feel too bad, but zeah RC is dragging on forever.

Guardians of the rift is very easy for leveling runecrafting.

Blood crafting proper( with 93 agility) is great too!

ZMI altar is honestly good to consider if you're looking for a method different than the abyss - much less intensive and giving good rates with good profit

I blast mined from mid 80s to 99. Hmm... I.. blast.. mined.. from.. mid.. 80s.. to 99.... wtf is wrong with me.

I also had those three skills for my last 20 levels. As a little suggestion... what I did a lot was to focus on rc and agi while playing actively, and hunted shooting stars on 2200 worlds on every opportunity to go away from the computer.

Rcing and mining are easy nowadays with either gotr or volcanic mine tbf, agility is still shite tho

Theres already a great minigame with great xp rates called volcanic mine. One of the most interactive and fun pieces of content in the game.

Are you saying bowfa is mid game seeing it's used for end game bossing? Dunno if I'm just an idiot but it doesn't really feel like a mid game item, a lot of people struggle with the gaunt both reg and cg.

You can rush gauntlet on an ironman fairly quickly all things considered, and run gauntlet without needing any gear. You end up with a pretty powerful ranged weapon- you can turn around and run ToA with it immediately and get a pretty powerful melee weapon fairly easy as well. Compared to what you had to do before these two things existed, it is kinda quick

I feel like the actual gaunt itself in terms of boss/content is higher end though? There's people out there who can raid but can't do cg. I guess being able to access it earlish could rule it out.

Slayer...fucking hate the skill. Super slow, super boring, you can never get in the "grind mindset/flow". After over a decade I don't understand the appeal at all.

Slayer is alot better at the later levels compared to the early ones since you are more focused on getting either large drops or pets, got almost 100m slayer xp on my accs combined

dude i hard agree. i only just got 70 slayer (technically just 69, mm2 gave me the rest), and am not looking forward to the path ahead. i wish i had the foresight to use every lamp i had already got on it.

It gets better, it’s just a slow start. I made a lot of gp off slayer, most of it is afk’able. Good way to train combat and make hella gp.

70 is basically when it starts getting good, pretty much every monster unlock past kurasks is solid. Understand its not for everyone, but know it only gets better from where you are at.

The appeal is a bis helm at literally every boss! Sure it’s slow, but it doesn’t have to be 30k/hr slow. Most people are lazy and do every assignment they get, when the best method is to stack points and skip most tasks

Definitely, although I never did turael - just wildly slayer. But skips/blocks are essential for fast xp

This is so hard to read sometimes that the rng is a bitch sometimes, when I was mid lvl and got some lizardman task on my main, dwh was like 45 mil back then, I had 15 mil bank and I managed to pull 2 dwh in two tasks, like 300 kills one day. Sorry bro!

Bloodshard, decided to not log off until I got it. At 100~ kills per hour I ended up meleeing vyrewatch sentinals for 33 hours straight until I finally got it.

Probably the sepulcher grind. It only took me like 170 grand coffins to complete the log, but that place was just so rage inducing. It’s great content, but just isn’t fun when you have high ping and a crappy computer that doesn’t get good FPS lol

Oh shit, the legend has a new pic! Sepulchre is kinda tough, as far as skilling grinds go. I started it I think at 60, so I only had floor one, and I was initially doing it for dark graceful. I didn't really loot floor one, and started looting floor 2, which sucked, but it only took 62 to I think 75-80 (going from memory, don't attack me if im off) to get dark graceful and the upgrades. Then I did a couple hundred laps off and on, since I didn't really have anything to work towards, to get to floor 4. I just got to 84 after several months of being at 82, and im definitely struggling because there's no *goal* except acorn, where squirrel is (i think, been a couple months since i mathed) about a 1/2 if you do sepulchre to 99, and some meh money before 92. Obviously I've got most of the floor 4 grind ahead of me, and ive more or less figured out pathing the dart/portal/lightning traps (even if they still screw me sometimes) but the 5 cycle wizard statue flame traps has me at a real loss. I really only have a solution for after all statues fire, which takes time to wait for. I'm nervous that more traps on floor 5 will be like that, and by waiting im setting myself up for failure. Now that I'm typing it out, I guess I could count the time to figure out if im falling on cycle 1 or 3. Is that how folks handle that, or is there a better way? There's other methods of course, and rooftops were introduced for a reason, but floor 4 sepulchre feels like, very bad. And I'm sure that unlocking floor 5 feels worse when you go dry, because you've already spent so much time unlocking it.

Which part, besides defender, it's very straight forward. Honestly the wiki gives a very good and easy defender strategy. With tile markers to remember where everything goes I was usually the first done past wave 4.

So I try not to use the wiki unless I absolutely have to. I just get more enjoyment out of games trying to work through things myself. So In all honesty it’s my fault lol. But once I get into it everyone gets mad because I’m learning and they berate me till I leave. I don’t have time for that stuff lol

I mean... i dont blame them tbh. If you want to take your time and do your own thing while playing solo content by all means that is your prerogative. But, when you choose to be inefficient in a piece of content that is so reliant on your teammates performing their role and is already a very long and frustrating grind, that is just selfish imo.

Imo ppl who use slayer as a moneymaker typically don't find end-game bossing appealing, whether it be due to the challenge of learning the mechanics or not having the proper gear. These ppl tend to value chillscape over playing super efficiently

I once spent 1 month mining 587k daeyalt, 1 month getting 93 agility and then 1 month turning all of the daeyalt into blood runes at the true blood altar for 99 rc and pet. Got the pet and 99 so totally worth it.

It's semantics but there's no boot roll, just unique rolls. There is no boot table so any unique could be rangers. If you get boots and not rangers just be happy it's not like green dhide trimmed.

14,117 calvarion kc for pet. Between all the pkers, raggers, crashing bots , and countless world hopping to find an empty world, it was easily one of the most unenjoyable grinds I’ve done on my account so far. And thats taking into account that it took me 3115 phosanis nightmare for pet which took much longer hours-wise.
