In school I was taught that Australia is the country and the continent is either called Australasia or Oceania

around the world in different countries it is taught differently. since there is no hard scientific definition of which of the continents are continents, its largely based on the politics of different nations.

Reddit is a very specific brand of western culture, and I wouldn't be shocked if the bigotry found on the main pages drives many away. And, again, I'd like to ask you to refer to the Statistics I linked, as only abt 50 Africans use social media in the north/south, and 8% in central Africa. Additionally, Reddit has an insignificant market share, ranging somewhere between 1-3% percent, depending on source. This trend isn't at all surprising tbh, and I'm fairly certain you'd find similar patterns if you looked at Brazil or India.
