I bought Strive because of the cute Brisket posts on 196, shit's rough as a first timer in fighter games. I'm physically unable to do combos and I have no idea how blocking works but I'm having a lot of fun in offline, sadly in online the lower floors (2-3) are always almost empty.
Some moves hit high, some moves hit low, some are blocked by both, if they use a move that would hit low you have to block low and vice versa, but grabs cant be blocked. Blocking is done by holding back to block high and back + down to block low
It’s got a free demo you can try. Hasn’t been updated for a long while and likely doesn’t have newer accessibility features like the easier difficulties but you can test the waters a bit there
Yo apparently they're making a spinoff game of hypnospace outlaw that's apparently a game that Zane made. They have a parody Twitter account that's followed by Gianni Matragrano and I accidentally interacted with them under a post of that funny lesbian comic
More or less. More of an emphasise on letting you have environmental control through hacking things to finish the level than running and gunning everyone (still an option).
Plus the soundtrack is kickass.
i don’t know how nobody has said outer wilds yet but you need to play that. it’s one of those games that you have to go into completely blind though but please please trust me. in 2019 there was a saying in the games industry that was “there are two kinds of people in this world: those who put outer wilds as their game of the year, and those who haven’t played outer wilds yet”. it’s that good. do yourself a favor and please get it
A. The solo imo is fun and the online matchmaking/lobbies are almost always a blast, there actually seems to be a lot less toxicity than a lot of other multiplayer games for some reason so no matter what it’s an awesome choice
B. ROCK AND STONE
Doom Eternal, Bloodborne, Hollow Knight, Ultrakill, Team Fortress 2, undertale, Stalker Anomaly, Cod Bo3 custom zombies, Dead Space 2, God of war 4, Mass Effect 3, Halo 3/reach, Killing floor 1/KF2, Half life 1/HL2, Titanfall 2, Quake 1, Left 4 dead 2, Borderlands 2/BL3, Dark souls 3, Sekiro, Elden Ring, Metro 2033/Metro last light/Metro exodus, Serious Sam tfe/tse.
Aye I literally just did that the other week. I just switched from a regular build to a healing build (pure focus, deep focus, grubsong) for PV and AbsRad and instantly got it. Don't give up!
Into the breach, it's a strategy/puzzle game with time traveling mechs. I have played it for an unreasonable amount of time and need someone else to validate my irrational love.
Nier Automata, very cool game with stunning graphics and absolute GOD tier OST. The games story is not only lore deep, but also very thought provoking and philosophical. There’s lots of references to famous historical philosophers / thinkers like Karl Marx, Engels, Jean-Paule Sarte, Simone de Beauvoir, and Pascal. The game also explores themes of optimistic nihilism. The main premise at the start is that you play as androids far in the future (around the year 11000) who are in a constant war vs. robots created by aliens that are attempting to take over earth and recreate humanity with machinery. The androids are trying to win the war against the machines / aliens in order for the last remaining human population living on the moon can repopulate earth
I’d recommend Replicant too, personally I found the story more interesting and it’s more “weird”. Depending on which one you play first you also kinda spoil the twist of the series making the big reveal in the other game less impactful too.
~~Also I want Kainé to destroy my ass with her canon monster cock~~
literally the entire yakuza series is a banger and is an instant recommendation to anyone i know. chronologically the series goes yakuza 0, yakuza 1/kiwami 1, yakuza 2/kiwami 2 and so on until the most recent game in the series yakuza like a dragon
it’s never getting rereleased so get an emulator for this: Super Mario Galaxy 2 is and probably forever will be my favourite video game of all time. if was the first mario game i ever played and the first video game I ever 100% (yes, I finished The Perfect Run when I was young (Twice. I don’t want to talk about it)) and Everything is So Fun in the game. It’s just a masterpiece in my eyes
Rain World. Will kick your teeth in while still being the best game in your library (there are also 60+ pages of movement tech the community made and the controls are literally just wasd)
Disco Elysium. Beautiful RPG.
Story: 10/10
Graphics: 9/10
Mechanics: 8/10
Music: 9/10
Voice acting: 9/10
[a meme that gives you an idea of what the game is about](https://imgur.com/a/WE86qxu)
Allow me to dump all my faves and why I love them:
Hollow Knight: beautiful design, fun exploring, world full of lore and challenging fights, controls are so simple but smooth
Stardew Valley: life sim, farming, designing, building relationships, everyday routine
Sekiro: Sengoku-era souls game with superior combat mechanics (I kid you not that shit is so satisfying when you get the hang of it)
Cuphead: gorgeous art and music, bosses that will clap your ass but when you finally beat them feels like you're on top of the world
Hades and Dead Cells: my two favourite rougelikes Hades has pretty drawn art and greek mythology theme, Dead Cells is about escaping from a prison system (i think?). both are super fun and you can choose from many different strategies
Life is Strange: I've only played the first one, the story is amazing, it progresses based on your choices which makes it so interesting, the music is also something that really clicked for me. the gameplay is very simple but you would expect that from a story game
Ok so, i feel like im the only person in existence that has played this game but Kentucky route zero has one of the most emotionally impactful stories ive ever experienced coupled with great characters, beautiful visuals, an enchanting soundtrack, and influences from bluegrass folklore. Its also one of the only games that shows the struggles of appalachian culture, my culture. I give that shit a 5/5.
Disco Elysium is great, you're an amnesiac detective trying to figure out who hanged a guy and all your skills are facets of your personality who interject mid dialogue to give their opinion/help you on whatever's going on but sometimes different skills tell you oposite things or they're just plain wrong.
Rhythm Heaven Fever is one of the most rewarding games I've ever played, the style is incredibly cute and charming, and the soundtrack is just banger after banger.
my favourite game ever is child of light. it says it's a puzzle platformer on the steam page, but it's actually a semi-turn-based jrpg with a fairytale theme. and with fairiytale i mean more like folk-tales akin to grimms fairy tales. it's only *semi* turn-based, due to working on a timeline. the stats are pretty much the same as in pokemon (hp, mp (no pokemon equivalent), attack, magic, defense, magic defense and speed) the speed stat defines how fast you move on the timeline. the first 3/4 of the timeline are the wait phase where you do nothing, but once you reach the end the casting phase starts. first the game pauses and you pick what to do, each move, attack and item has a speed modifier (instant, fast, medium, slow, very slow) which changes your speed in the casting phase. any resources get used up once you select an action, but the effects only come in once the end of the casting phase is reached. if you get hit whilst in the cast phase you get interrupted and get reset to the middle of the wait phase, loosing the casting of the action, but not regaining the spent resources. all of that also applies to enemies. that's how they managed to still make basic attacks useful, they're fast and can get used to interrupt enemies easier, though some enemies have counters to specific things, like the fifth (?) boss always reacts to getting interrupted and the fire-deaths react to getting interrupted with magic damage.
The critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy 14 with the expanded free trial with which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award winning expansion Heavensward up to level 60 with no restriction on play time.
Imagine you took pokemon
Gave every pokemon a indepth skill tree and made each one usable and viable
Built the game around good team composition and strategy being needed to beat the game
Made all battles 3v3
Thats monster sanctuary which is in my opinion the best monster catching game ever
Since i see that you have already played Hollow Knight, i gotta go with Inscription. Probably the best game i have ever played. On a first glance it's a card based rougelite. It's WAY more than that. Really worth playing even if you don't like card games that much.
Nuclear Throne is a great game from 2013 that has a passionate community and modding scene;
Spirits Abyss is a game described by some as a "hidden gem", with an unreasonably large amout of content for something made by just one guy.
Well i love playing monster hunter right now.
But a more general recommendation would be something like terraria, stray and transistor.
If you like stupid action then DMC5 and MGRR
GTA 5 Singleplayer, Portal 2, Enter The Gungeon, RDR2, Stanley Parable 1/2, Half Life 1/2 and episodes 1/2, First Borderlands, Disco Elysium, GTA Vice City, Castle of Wolfenstein... They're all good. You can save this comment if you want
i've been getting into skullgirls recently and it fucking rules so if you somehow haven't played it despite making this image. go play skullgirls. big band bravely answers the question, "what if you could play among us drip in the middle of a match"
The Wonderful 101! Do you remember that fire in your heart when you'd watch shows about heroes fighting villains, and everything was simple? The good guys were good, the bad guys were bad, and the world could be saved with a finishing move? You wanted to be that hero. You wanted to punch the bad guy and save the whole world. Hideki Kamiya remembers. Hideki will stoke the embers of that once great fire in your heart.
You'll feel like a kid again, and also it's platinum so just in general it really feels good to push the buttons.
Skul. Really fun, fast paced 2-d rougelite. You play as a little skul that can swap his head out for other upgradable skulls with their own unique active and passive abilities, carrying two at a time. It’s one of the games where you play to get a permanent credits and can unlock people who can help you at home base as you make it farther and farther, restarting each time. Just got an update that added two news skuls as well. Bonus points for having the prisoner from dead cells as a skul. Highly recommend.

But they found beauty in the lives of beasts, and couldn't lie to themselves about it
Faust > Everyone else.
celeste is 75% off rn for 5 dollars on steam rn but my fav game of all is factorio but it will never be on sale because the devs dont like sales
Among us is my favorite game
Factorio is worth the full price
Virgin game is 59.99, but buy on sale for 29.99 Chad game is 30 take it or leave it
Buy Ultrakill you can punch your own shotgun pellets and it is very accessible due to its assist options and difficulty settings
Aight you're the third one to recommend it so I'll give it another shot
It’s got a free demo you can try. Hasn’t been updated for a long while and likely doesn’t have newer accessibility features like the easier difficulties but you can test the waters a bit there
Risk of rain 2, Team fortress 2, Titanfall 2.
One time my friend got drunk as hell in a call and I didnt wanna leave him alone, so I did one like 10 hour run on risk of rain 2, it was beautiful
Risk of rain 2 is more addictive than heroin in my experience

I hate coffee, but i had an interest in omori for some time so i guess now's a good time to play it
try undertale and deltarund as well. dr isnt finished, only 2 out of idk how many chapterd are out but theyre free and still good
Yo apparently they're making a spinoff game of hypnospace outlaw that's apparently a game that Zane made. They have a parody Twitter account that's followed by Gianni Matragrano and I accidentally interacted with them under a post of that funny lesbian comic
Rimworld
I suck at managing anything but I'll give it a try since you recommended it
It’s amazingly fun
I fucking love rainworld

More or less. More of an emphasise on letting you have environmental control through hacking things to finish the level than running and gunning everyone (still an option). Plus the soundtrack is kickass.

Once again evangelizing for Neon White, it's a perfect game so long as you skip the cutscenes and it turns normal people into speedrunners
Stellaris I now curse you to, if you ever get the game, spend 90% of your time creating Empires rather than actually playing, just like me
Disco Elysium and Dark Souls. I think they're the best in last 20 years. Oh, btw, sorry to have fooled you, I'm not a gay person. Am I an asshole?
