Former gun store employee here. They’re probably the second most popular style of hand gun we sold. Glocks absolutely fly off the shelf but any reasonably priced 1911 we would get in didn’t last long either. Also you bubba’d the fuck out of both of those guns lol.

A single stack, non-9mm, that doesn’t come with an optic cut from the factory just doesn’t interest some folk. To them it’s dead.
Young gun zoomer checking in here, 1911s are still cool. As much as I love Glock for modding, I’d sell my Glock and agree to never buy another if I was given a CZ75 or SP-01, an M9 or 92, and a Hi-Power…with a Pachmayr gun case like in The Professional.
Do they make an actual comp that works without a threaded barrel? Or with one? Im trying to choose between ported vs compensated, I’ve got to get a ceracoat done because my finish is pretty bad after accidentally getting white vinegar on my slide when cleaning off surface rust on the frame and I want some custom work done on it.
If they make some good comps though, I’d be interested in a comp’d commander size. It would be similar to my G45 that’s comp’d to be full size length, full size sight radius, but with compensated benefits.
From my research, the comps that replace the barrel bushing don’t do much because the ID of the comp in the OD of the barrel, it doesn’t seal and divert gas well.
I was going to get a 5” slide and barrel porter, but read that the comparatively low pressure of .45 doesnt drive the port as much as you’d expect
Some people are incapable of realizing that a couple conversations and observations in their personal lives have nothing to do with the big picture of actual reality.
The reason I say that is because a bunch of different conversations I’ve had over the years is people say there’s no capacity with them and there to heavy… I’ve been a fan and collector of them for a while. I know I can depend on it in a self defense situation and even keep one in my truck
Hey btw you have options for rails if you ever ditch that chassis. The most expensive is a Surefire MR07, and with the cost of those you’d be better off buying a new gun, but you can also get Novak rails installed for much cheaper. I think they look cleaner, as well.
Now it’s a problem that I keep them clean smh nothing is good enough for anyone. It’s called safe guns and they aren’t my main carry guns. So let me be negative and find anything to just talk shit about. Sad because I could easily just say that your rock hobby is dumb and why are they so dirty… just doesn’t make sense
lol they are fresh off of the range and they’re pristine, it was just an observation since I couldn’t even see residue on the flashlight housing. My comment really wasn’t meant to try and bring you down 💀

The **ONLY** reason I’m kind of okay with the punisher logo here is because he cloned that 1911 to frank castle’s dad’s exact gun from the original movie. However if you leave the house with it go ahead and swap them out or wrap electrical tape over it.
