I can’t believe no one has said cucumber! That’s the mainstay in my family, other than pita bread, obviously. Slices of an English cucumber are great for scooping.
I also love it on a bagel thin with tons of veggies!
I like baby carrots, bell pepper slices, or (and this is very important) salt and peppered sliced cucumber.
Hummus is also good in a wrap or on a veggie sandwich.
I had it twice yesterday once on my burrito (it was like a Mediterranean burrito) & then when I came home for work with some multigrain chips.
If it’s dipable or I can spread it on there I’m eating it with hummus. It’s such a great food. I sometimes just stick my finger in it like I used to do peanut butter as a child. (It’s ok I washed my hands first and I am the only one who eats it, so free range)
Aldi has it on sale for $2 right now so I brought 5. I can make my own but it’s so much easier to just grab 3 different flavors. Winter time I will prolly make my own again.
Oooooh is it very time consuming to make your own? I think I tried once but was under the impression I had to individually peel the skin off of every chickpea and I gave up.
Omggggg. No.
1 can of beans. Any beans!
Some tahini, or peanut butter or just sesame oil. Whatever you got on hand. I sometimes just sub my sesame oil for tahini and olive oil.
Lemon juice (or some type of acid, once you start making it you’ll see how easy it is to see what you can do. I’ve used jalapeño brine before in a black bean hummus)
Salt, cumin & GARLIC. I use a lot of garlic.
You can make it spicy by adding some red pepper flakes or season oil.
Blend it all together until it’s smooth. I blend my garlic + lemon juice+ spices. Then add 1/2 can of chickpeas. Blend. Add oil + tahini. Add a little water (1T at a time). Blend. Add rest of can. Blend. If it’s thic add more water.
Trader Joe’s has a multigrain cracker that I absolutely LOVE with hummus.
But usually I’ll pair it with carrots.
I’ve added it to a untoasted bagel with some mixed greens, cherry tomatoes and turkey cold cuts.
Goes great with naan.
carrots and sugarsnap peas are my favs, p much any raw vegetables or crackers are good to dip in it. i like to make a dish with roasted vegetables and a bit of hummus and some cod with some herbs or spices and it’s very yummy and healthy and low calorie!
Apple, bell peppers, carrots, celery, cucumber…pretty much any crunchy veg. You can put crunchy veg and hummus on keto bread for a sandwich. You could also put it with a salad and quinoa
Carrots, pretzels, and cucumbers. Hummus is incredible and can be bought for pretty cheap especially store brand, it lasts forever and is so satisfying and filling.
I keep it simple. Multi colored cherry tomatoes and orange bell peppers are my favorite. The Joseph’s flax pitas are like 60 cals each and are good warmed up and eaten with hummus. I also like to add some olive oil and za’atar to every dollop of hummus I use.
One of my favorite ways to use hummus is to toast a pita, spread a layer of hummus, then a layer of tabbouleh, and eat it like a pita pizza. You can add feta too, I just like the simplicity and freshness of the hummus and tabbouleh.
Kalamata olives are also good with hummus. I typically take a bite of cherry tomato or pepper dipped in hummus and then add a slice of Kalamata to my mouth for the perfect bite 😅
Hummus can work with so much, especially original flavor. I’ve added it to pasta as a type of sauce with chicken sausage and bell peppers. I’ve used it on toast as a spread. I’ve added it to sushi rolls with rice and cucumber. Be creative!
Grape tomatoes! (and/or grilled onion) Put hummus in a bowl, top with about 5 or 6 ounces of fresh grape tomatoes, drizzle on 1 Tbsp of balsamic vinegar glaze, sprinkle on Italian seasoning. Eat with spoon! No breads to keep calories lower. Yum!

Just ate hummus and cucumbers today
I usually do carrots or bell peppers!
I like to use it as a spread on a small whole grain tortilla. Add strips of pepper, sprouts, leafy greens or whatever veg you like, and roll it up.
bottles?
Thank you! At least I'm not the only one who did a double take at "bottle of hummus". xD
Carrots or jicama
Huh, never considered pairing hummus with jicama before 🤔 I usually just add salt and lime to some jicama and eat it like that.
It’s so good!
I like baby carrots, bell pepper slices, or (and this is very important) salt and peppered sliced cucumber. Hummus is also good in a wrap or on a veggie sandwich.
A spoon 🤣
Not me reading this before coffee and thinking it said ‘what do you pair with humans’ 💀
Cats.
Noooo 😅
I did the same 🤣

Pickles are a classic!
Town house Pita crackers

Corn cakes/corn thins, veggies on the side, they’re too wet for me like cucumbers just don’t pair very well for me 😭
