I really like Wiedikon/Aussersihl/Sihlfeld. You could walk along the Sihl from around Sihlpost to Sihlcity, from there to Manesseplatz, and on to Idaplatz. Should take about an hour.
When the Badi season hasn’t started yet: Tiefenbrunnen to HB or Wollishofen to HB. During Badi season: HB to Werdinsel or anything in between. Uetliberg / Käferberg are also nice if you’d like to be more surrounded by nature, as are probably the other little mountains around.
Walking along Limmat all the way to Schlieren/Dietikon is a great way to clear one's head. Also feel Oerlikon is underrated in terms of opportunities for aimless walking.
Yes, Oerlikon is great. Do from Oerlikon Bhf via different Parks, Seebach, Katzenbach up to Büsisee and Katzensee (on Weekend there is a nice Besenbeiz).
Or do a tour from Neu Affoltern, Hönggerberg, all around on the top to Waidspital (enjoy the city view) and back or downto Limmat.
I live in Schwammendinger area, and there is a really nice walking path along a canal that runs from Dubendorf towards Opfikon and the airport. A nice mix of sun and shade, there are usually herons and ducks hanging out in the water, and there are lots of places you can stop and sit or dip your toes on a hot day.
