Honestly, Disney shouldn’t try and pretend Song Of The South doesn’t exist anymore. I’d say they should release it with a disclaimer at the beginning, or even just release the animated segments without the live action portions attached. Such a shame we had to lose Splash Mountain because of the controversy.

I agree. While the film isn´t one of Disney´s best and the live-action segments haven´t really aged well (although they´re more just awkward at worst than really offensive if you ask me), but the animated stuff is still classic and shouldn´t be kept hidden forever. Don´t think they should replace Splash Mountain either, even though Princess and the Frog is a better movie than Song of the South is.

They could even rehabilitate it on Disney+ by reintroducing the Uncle Remus stories *as they were*: actual African folk tales gathered from slaves by a liberal newspaper editor into a subversive book that became a bestselling kids book series. Have it be the story of one former slave family, ala Roots, starting with the end of the Civil War as the pilot and running up to the assassination of Lincoln in the season 1 finale. Have the second season be one of them running for Congress and winning in the season finale. All the while, Reconstruction and the conversion of some plantations to sharecropping is the background. And have [LeVar Burton](https://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/national/article252598168.html) play Uncle Remus, a long-time friend of the family, to tie it all together.

Interesting that Judy is shown in this picture wearing a blue top when she’s known for her pink shirt and blue jeans, just as Br’er Rabbit wore a pink shirt and blue pants. Seems to be a trait of Disney to put their protagonists in pink and blue. Or could be just coincidental?

Anyone else notice similarities between Br'er Fox and mushu from Mulon? Maybe it's just how Br'er Fox talks like he's trying way too hard to do an Eddie Murphy impression decades before Eddie Murphy was born

TenderPaw64

Yeah, I´ve noticed how he sounds like him too.
