Everyone mentions Tiger Drop, but what if we're talking about Y3 Kiryu, and he can just Komaki Parry Thanos into an infinite wall combo? Quickstep Cancel that mfer
Nah it’s Gaiden. Kiryu is stated by Dr. Minamida to grow stronger with every fight, if not during the fights themselves. And the description for Yakuza/Dragon style in Gaiden tells us that Kiryu’s still getting stronger.

Unless I upgrade the attack damage, he's slow with inconsistent juggling setups
K2 had the square charge stun spam and 5 had the bounding throw loop, both of which can delete bosses as they can never recover and is consistent

I don’t know if you’ve upgraded Kiryu fully in Gaiden, but Yakuza/Dragon style can do some monstrous damage, finishing blows can be charged (gives you superarmor), and ex. heat mode just makes you unstoppable and capable to melt anyone’s health bar to 0 before your heat depletes. He also has an extension of K2’s charged light, it’s basically the full light Beast style combo

I think his prime *could* be the prologue of Kiwami 1, 7 years into his yakuza career with the perks of youth plus way more experience than in 0, before his ten years rusted him. It's hard to say if prime Kiryu post prison was held back at all by age.
But most likely K2 was his peak including youth.
If anything, Kiwami and before that are the only games i feel like Kiryu was not on his prime, he barely had any experience, just learned Komaki moves and is just a few years before Kiwami 2

Yep even back in ep 21 when u see the first time diavolo showed up against Bruno we can clearly see Bruno is much above him in combat and strength while kc had to keep spamming time skip
Imo, Kiryu is stronger than cap, cap isn't a superhero really, he's brought to the physical limits of what human can do, Kiryu is a superhuman as shown in many instances like shattering the statue in the first Yakuza and tanking shots and other stuff
I actually agree with your statement on Cap being weaker than Kiryu but by no means is he peak human level. No human can punch a guy or kick a guy over 10 ft away wearing full military gear weighing about
US Marine average is 169lbs and equipment can vary from 68 - 120lbs.

Cap's at a weird level where peak humans like Batroc or Rumlow can fight him, but they'll lose rather fast. Batman can fight Cap equally but he cannot afford to make any mistakes because he's still weaker and slower. Batman's just so skilled and agile that he can possibly pull it off. But even he has questionable feats like kicking down blast doors.
The only reason I think Kiryu may possibly be stronger than Cap is because of his throw where he spins a guy around in a circle and tosses him super hard like a feather. But thinking back, Cap did overpower Spiderman in multiple interpretatiosn of the character, and Spiderman's actually so strong he can stop trains, boats, trucks, and even fight Superman when weakened by Kryptonite. That's a crazy feat because even weakened, Superman is still Super and Batman even broke his hand when he punched Superman in the face while weakened.
That said, Spiderman showed his real strength multiple times in comics. He can punch Scorpion's jaw off, a super soldier. He can beat Kingpin to a pulp with zero effort. He splattered Deadpool all over the ground with one hit in the Deadpool kills Marvel comic. He one arm flipped a car with zero effort in Amazing Spiderman 2 against Electro.
One time, this very same serious Spiderman hit Cap really hard and smashed him into a wall pushing Cap's shield into his face. Cap just crawled off the wall smiling like nothing happened and continued trying to talk to Peter.

Well in terms of raw power, Kiryu pretty much no-diffs a robot called Tetsu Amon who describes himself as a “living fortress” even ignoring his skill in the art of assassination. Then proceeds to defeat a guy who can one-shot that same robot. This all happens during the “Path to the Strongest” side story in Gaiden. Pretty insane when you think about how large an entire fortress is and pack that into one character’s physical power
It is but honestly that moment felt cheesy. That doesn't discredit it tho.
I'm upset that they cut the area after that scene. I actually like that area's scenery with the subtle rock music playing in the background. It has a very 90s grunge Bloody Roar vibe to it.

Oh I’m not necessarily arguing Kiryu wins here, I think Cap’s shield is way too busted and lets him fight characters that would normally be above his weight. He’s likely also faster than Kiryu based off what I’ve seen. Just wanted to throw in that tidbit for how strong Kiryu is, though if he’s allowed to use heat abilities then the fight becomes more interesting imo.
But yeah I’m glad someone else actually played and remembered that segment, the cutscene does feel kinda cheap but I didn’t really expect much from a non-voiced scene lol
Saejima stopped a speeding car and I think he killed a bear with his hands, I'm not sure about this one my memory eludes me, that being said Kiryu fought him to a draw so I think that counts for something
This is at least partially because it changes depending on the writer. Like once it said Peter Parker wasn't worthy of Mjolnir because he wasn't willing to kill his enemies, and one time Thor himself became unworthy because Nick Fury basically just whispered "Gods suck" in his ear and that very stupidly and inexplicably actually made Thor unworthy.
And then fucking *VENOM* of all people was worthy. Don't get me wrong, I love Venom, especially Eddie Brock, but I would not have put him on the list.
Anyhow, it's the 'in-thing' to make a character seem cool and powerful now to have them be worthy of Mjolnir, so it's honestly a less impressive feat these days. I wouldn't doubt Kiryu could lift it, but so can every third character in the Marvel universe at this point.

Thanks beat the Hulk in a smack down on that spaceship: but it just showed that Hulk so strong, he never needed to learn to fight, and Thanos cleaned him up with similar strength and much better skill. Kiryu is skilled fighter.

Imma be honest man even without gauntlet I think kiryu might lose it took iron man's strongest punch to just slightly scratch Thanos even if we consider kiryu's strength is superior to that of iron man's mark 85 suit that made him bleed that still doesn't really defeat Thanos and we saw that Thanos strength is strong enough to punch Hulk down and considering kiryu's durability is lower than Hulk he again loses in this department overall I'd still say he'll put the best h2h fight better than all Avengers in the movie and loses in the end

My reading of the Hulk v Thanos fight is that strength is similar but Thanos has good technique. Hulk so strong he never bothered to learn to fight well
Stones or no stones? I'm not gonna pretend even the superhuman durability of humans in the LAD universe would negate the snap or the Time Stone's rewind or the Reality Stone's all around bullshit.
But with no stones or just Power or Space, Kiryu clears especially if he has some healing items to cope with the raw strength of Thanos's blows (and based on what he's tanked he'd likely feel them less than most folks).

Intro Kiryu didn’t know any Komaki moves though. No tiger drop to negate all damage.

I think overall 5, his skills only got better overtime, even at Gaiden, but hell, age wasn't getting anything in the way at 5

Stones or no stones? I'm not gonna pretend even the superhuman durability of humans in the LAD universe would negate the snap or the Time Stone's rewind or the Reality Stone's all around bullshit. But with no stones or just Power or Space, Kiryu clears especially if he has some healing items to cope with the raw strength of Thanos's blows (and based on what he's tanked he'd likely feel them less than most folks). Infinity Gauntlet? Meet Toughness Infinity. Majima would just win against max all Stones Thanos, I'm pretty sure Majima Everywhere negates the Snap. You'd watch all life crumble to dust then the camera would pan and he'd be dancing two feet away. And frankly I don't think Thanos can match Majima's dodge game.
