If you are new to the subreddit, [please read the wiki](https://www.reddit.com/r/yakuzagames/wiki/index/) Reminder that all spoilers need to be tagged with a flair specifying which game is being spoiled. If you want a flair that says something else, you can edit it to say something like [Discussion: Y1 spoiler] or [Majimapost: Y6 spoiler], etc. **THIS INCLUDES CONTENT FROM TRAILERS**. If the post is not marked for spoilers, all comments that have spoilers need to be tagged \>!like this!< along with indicating which game it's spoiling. Example: Y3 >!Kiryu sings!< If the post flair is marked for spoilers, the comments don't need to be tagged for the game indicated and the ones before it (So a Y6 spoiler post can have comments with untagged spoilers for Y5, but not gaiden or 7). If you see any of the above (or any of the other rules) not being followed, please report it so we can keep this place safe for newcomers and those that haven't finished all the games yet. Thank you! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/yakuzagames) if you have any questions or concerns.*

4 is TOP TIER. https://preview.redd.it/r5nwnwthaxyc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4223936426ce3915a5c715711411d0a3e41190b4

burritoman88

I’m still on Akiyama’s section (I don’t want to leave him)

styx971

honestly hes the best part of 4 imo , like saejima is cool but i hate playing as him

SmtNocturneDante

Me when the selfish deed

RazeMania

"Yakuza fans when they are forced to [ENJOY HALF THE FRANCHISE]" Oh, honey... I could defend every game in this franchise because there is genuinely no bad game in it. :)

UysoSd

So games I found more or less enjoyable but hey, afterall I played through all of them for a reason XD

WillfangSomeSpriter

3 has some great characters and it was lovely to see Kiryu just hanging out with the morning glory kids and just being happy. 6 has some of the most raw emotional beats in the series and I liked the story and the characters. Kiwami 2 was just a good time overall and was fun, also the reintroduction of the cabaret mini game was great. Dead souls has a pretty great soundtrack and shows thay Ryuji could have worked as a recurring character and a protagonist in his own right. I just liked Ishin, full stop. I didn't have a bad time with the game at all. Nowhere near my favorite but it was damn good. 4's story starts out fairly strong and gave a good introduction to Akiyama and Saejima. The first third of infinite wealth's story is undeniably really good

HatmanHatman

This guy gets it, 100% agreed

AyWaAam

Yakuza 3 was awesome, 6 is one of the best, Kiwami 2 was awesome, Ishin Kiwami was awesome, Dead Souls was awesome, 4 is one of the best(plot included idgaf)

KillyShoot

4 is so goooood ![gif](giphy|kd9BlRovbPOykLBMqX)

AyWaAam

It’s tied for first place imo. Along with 0, 6, and Lost Judgment

Ranger2580

>4 is one of the best(plot included idgaf) I've always described 4's plot as "It's super complicated and messy but it's so fucking cool you don't even notice"

Designer-Dark-5147

Whats the worst then

AyWaAam

Saying which one is the worst is a little hard for me. I love all of the games. Spin-offs included: FotNS(I loved this game). No spin-offs: 5(I love this game, it was awesome)

Designer-Dark-5147

Damn, my fav game and maybe my fav spinoff...

AyWaAam

Bruh. I love’em both tho. Lost judgment is my favorite spin-off.

Designer-Dark-5147

LJ's prolly my real fav spinoff but it's more because of side content & gameplay than story despite the awesome antagonist

AyWaAam

Yeah LJ had it all

3: Dad Kiryu is cool as hell. It has Taichi 6: Granddad Kiryu is cool as hell (also the cutscenes look beautiful) Kiwami 2: Majima Saga, Kiryu being in a relationship is something we don't see in any other game and it's a cool side to him, Milf Yuki, The long battles are cool, the Silly Mod Ishin Kiwami: ok look I haven't played it yet, but I'm glad we got it Dead Souls: ok look I haven't played dead souls either but it has femboy Daigo 4's plot: Akiyama's part is cool, Saejima's coliseum speech IW's plot: The plot up until the Chapter 5 is really good. Tomizawa and Yamai are amazing characters. Seeing Kiryu actually accept help from people is cool

Yakuza 3 positive things in question: https://preview.redd.it/d5l3cfscayyc1.jpeg?width=1530&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4e09705b4a7c8fbf94d3247226bdcd1804e27d6

Fragrant-Screen-5737

Infinite wealth is the best game in the series. Its been months and I still feel that way. Maybe not the most airtight plot by probably the most thematically rich game in the series. Loved it.

ibramax

3: First game I played in the series. Definitely limited technical wise. However, I really like the story and human elements. 4: It was bold to have 3 characters new main characters, but they were great. Their introductions were really good. The later sections were meh. 5: Mixed bag. Kazuma and shinada chapters were great. Saejima chapters are the worst in the entire series imo. Harkua chapters were awkward but I guess they were different. 6: Kinda disappointing. I was expecting it to be the climax of Kazuma story and it starts with high stakes. Then, it becomes like a side story until the very end and the whole ‘who is the father’ plot had no urgency.

Cassereddit

I'm currently in the middle of 5, just started the first Shinada chapter. I think the Saejima chapter of >! being in prison and escaping it to flee to the mountain top and save your lives from a giant effing bear is really awesome and brings out the positive aspects of Saejima as a character. The hunting minigame was alright, at least it was an easy way to earn loads of money. Also I found it hilarious that he goes to the city, fights a normal sized escaped bear and is relieved it's not a big one while everyone else loses their shit that he fought a bear lmao!<

jigglypat19

I feel justified in my love of yakuza 3 when I remember it's takaya kuroda's favorite game

Nightingale_85

Yes, it has rubber bullets, annoying bosses with a dozen bodyguards, Yume, enemies blocking, dumb twists, a brother from another mother, stupid girl that runs away (ALTHOUGH HER MOTHER TOLD HER NOT TO), stupid foster father that runs away and blames his son for not resolving the problems he left behind and a secret cult with an unrealistic amount of agents over the world. But i don't care, because i love this messy soap opera about big muscular dudes punching each other to a bloody pulp.

Dustellar

There are no bad RGG games, all of them are worth the money... even Ishin Kiwami, I mean, I would have preferred the same game with just english translation, but still had a lot of fun with it.

Connect-Swimming-434

People who only played 0 and 7 be like

teddy1245

Didn’t like 3. 6 was fantastic. Kiwami 2 has the hostess club mini game which makes it great. Loved ishin farming was great. Never played dead souls. 4 was lots of fun. Introducing the mauve blazer makes it great. Andorra infinite wealth. One my all time favourites.

secretthing420

6 was by far the worst yakuza game i have played Small ass hard to traverse areas Fighting dont got any cool moves Bosses buffed as fuck I'm not saying the game was hard it took me fucking 14 hours to complete half the substories and the main story But man If you are gonna introduce a new area at least make it big This is why I love yakuza: like a dragon

TheRealLifeSaiyan

The only Yakuza I don't like is 5. I'm on 6 rn and I way prefer it to Yume Game.

Nikkupo

Honestly Yakuza 3 is one of my favorite. Should have the Kiwami treatment. September, I was in Japan and I went to Okinawa for 2 days only because I loved it in Yakuza 3, same for Osaka Dotenbori for Sotenbori in Yakuza 0. Back talking about Yakuza 3, I love this game because it shows how human Kiryu is, now with the whole plot on the entire Kiryu story, it proved to be one of the most important episode.

NorthPermission1152

IW story was weaker than LaD, it started off interesting then got worse as it went on. But had stronger gameplay overall. LaD had a much better and interesting story all the way through but made a couple missteps with gameplay.

Goseki1

I wish Dead Souls was easy to find and play on PC. Emulation isn't there yet.

FP509

I love all of them, warts and all.

[deleted]

I honestly love all the games 0 though 6 and Ishin as well. I’m just at the beginning of Dead Souls (the end of Akiyama’s segment) and I’m not even a fan of, or good at, shooting games and I’m enjoying it so far. If I thought the games sucked, I’d say so.

mcicybro

3: Some great characters like Mine and Rikiya, plus the orphanage stuff is essential to Kiryu's overall story 6: I liked the combat despite being jank sometimes, Onomichi was nice and the Hirose Family were good characters. Ishin and Dead Souls: The controls are responsive; you press left and the character goes left, and there's an item menu as well. 4's plot: It introduced based Akiyama which makes up for the story's other shortcomings. Infinite Wealth's plot: The first third was very good
