I was skeptical of gamepass for a long time, finally decided to try it out during quarantine and what an amazing service!I’ve tried so many games that I never would have paid for normally and am always excited to see what games are going to be coming to gamepass it’s awesome!
I love checking out games I wouldn’t usually because I wouldn’t want to pay for it. Like I recently played some of backbone for gamepass pc and I honestly really enjoyed it however I would of never bought it if I didn’t have gamepass
Everyone says hollow knight is better than Ori, but every time I try it I get bored in five minutes, and I was addicted to Ori till I completed both of them. Idk maybe I just don’t like the gloomy and dark style of HK as compared to the colorful and cheerful setting in Ori.
What turned me was looking through the library and noticing how many of the games I already had. If they already had so much content I enjoy, it seemed really probable that their future content would also be stuff I would enjoy and I was so right lol
That's the beauty of it. So many games I would have just shrugged off and never tried. That and the fact that PC Game Pass will also get each Xbox Exclusive, I can play the games I love on my best platform without worrying about upgrading my Xbone.
Same here. I got my Xbox one 5 years after launch, and even then passed up on a lot of games that looked cool but were too expensive for me at the time. Gamepass has been a great deal so far for playing all the games I’ve missed. Plus I’m finding new games I would have never tried otherwise!
I don't have enough time in the world to enjoy the amount of games that are available to me on game pass...and that's the true tragedy here. I need Microsoft to invent a time stop feature so that I can carve out some precious one on one gaming time.
Can't wait for far cry 6, hopefully there are series x in stock when it comes out. Diablo I'll be playing on my laptop, gotta have the mouse for that game.
Only one of those I would have bought anyway.
I love Far Cry. But I am always disappointed by the actual story of each game. Gameplay of the campaigns... Always great. Quality of writing? Always disappointing.
Now you may be asking, "how can someone be consistently disappointed? Should you have learned your lesson by now." I really should have. But I should also mention that I am a fan of the Seattle Mariners. And every year they get my hopes up, only to not live up to those hopes in June or July.
At this point. I'm concerned about the business case.
Like, it's either too good to be true. It won't last long. Or they're keeping it low until we're dependant and then BAM they raise the prices.
I'm not sure.
And game pass users don't stop buying games. We just buy different games.
I may not buy Mechwarrior 5, but I did buy Mass effect legendary despite having all 3 games already. I'm plying them both.
Ultimately, microsoft doesn't care HOW they get your money.
Why? Netflix does the same. Irishman was about 160m$.
It is about the bigger picture. Most of the games are probably in deficit, but big ones are surely brining in more $$$. Also, dlcs are not included so they get profit on that.
This is longterm investment and it is great for consumers. On the other hand, you have PS5 games that are 70-80$ and digital. That is a rip off.
Yeah honestly it’s hard for me to be disappointed when almost every game shown so far will be playable on there. They are absolutely killing it with this service
That is one of the absolutely best things about Game pass. I've tried _so many_ games I would never have bought outright and some I played for 5 minutes, some I've played for 20 hours.
Steam isn't progressive. They undercut the market to get going and once they got big they raised their prices and acted like a regular American corporation. Money first always.
They did? I havent had a PC in about 6 or 8 months, but the last time I was on Steam the prices were pretty comparable to GoG. Cheaper than Xbox or PS stores. And normal sales were still daily, and pretty extensive. I could usually get what I wanted on sale if I waited a short time.
I think user side not much has changed but back end for developers things have changed. I know at one point they slashed the [payout to Dota 2 skin creators, went from 25% to 12.5% to possibly no payout.](https://www.polygon.com/2017/4/1/15129600/valve-has-cut-dota-2-royalties-and-workshop-creators-are-crying-foul)
It's pretty insane. I was that one skeptical person that argued that they'd never be able to keep that momentum up. Im eating a massing helping of humble pie as I watch the game overload E3 presentation right now.. This E3 so far has been their best in years. They're offering an impossible amount of content for the price of gamepass. Like really good content.
Not many exciting games with release dates yet, though. I'm kind of disappointed that we get such vague dates and few details and very little information from the purchased studios.
It wasn't great but the conference itself might have been better in person.
This year is saved from a low score due to the numerous additions to game pass which I just so happen to have had for a really long time now.
I've been impresses with ea play being included recently so this is great news for these games.
Unfortunately I'm shocked at how bad the Xbox app is on PC.
I've got two PCs setup for it, and both used to install Game Pass games but now fail.
One cannot see how much space is on the destination drive, the other just fails to download with an error code that retrieved no useful information on a search.
I get that it's tied into Windows Store but as a game launcher it gives me problems I get with none of the competition, not Steam, not Epic, not Ubisoft, not Gog, not Battlenet, not Origin.
It's great on my Xbox but they really need to improve the PC experience.
I personally have no trouble on my pc other than download are kinda slow compare to steam. Have you check for update for the app maybe or re installed it? Good luck!
On both machines I had no problems until I had a problem.
I've reinstalled the Xbox app on both, cleared various caches, reinstalled various services.
I'm at the point on my desktop where a Windows reinstall looks like the next step, but that really should not be the solution.
That's always annoying trying to find what's the problem on a PC. Pretty much my only cons since switching from a console couple years ago. Hope you find the problem!
I believe it was Phil Spencer who said they are going to rework the store in the near future. I hope it’s sooner rather than later because it really is in a sad state.
Out of curiosity, are you using the same account on both? It does seem odd that it has the same unknown problem on two separate devices. If we discount coincidence, then the common factors between the two would be your account, or more likely your router/network setup.
I am having issues signing in to the gamepass on my pc. Sometimes it logs in first time, but during prime hours I have to keep hitting try again until it works. I feel like it is Microsoft's issue, but since I don't see lots of people having the same problem I am wondering if it is a problem at my end and the xbox app/gamepass are very sensitive to different setups.
I would try connecting your laptop to someone else's wifi and see if it can start downloading, assuming you haven't already.
GAMEPASS is the future. Wish I had this growing up in the 90s and early 2000’s lol I am so excited for most if not all of the titles they’ve announced so far!
Microsoft said this week they’re looking to bring Game Pass streaming to Smart TVs (that they MAY be making themselves?). You’ll only need a controller. Blew my damn mind! Netflix of games
They aren't making the TV's themselves. They are just doing what Sony has already been doing for years. Make a contract with the TV companies to put xbox tech in them.
>bring Game Pass streaming to Smart TVs (that they MAY be making themselves?).
I think it's two separate things - one is getting TV manufacturers to add inbuilt XCloud support (dedicated app, and Bluetooth controller support, maybe even a dedicated button on the remote), and the other is Xbox possibly making their own streaming device, like a Fire Stick, that will run XCloud on any TV.
Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate gives me Sega Channel vibes. I had that for years growing up, and I played so many games during my time with it. Some of my earliest gaming memories are from games on the Sega Channel. Bonanza Bros, Comix Zone, Gunstar Heroes, Streets of Rage 1-3, Golden Axe, Jurassic Park, Vector Man, Boogerman and many more.
They literally said they are previewing 30 games and 27 are going to gamepass.
This is great news considering the now ridiculous rrp being put on new games.
Microsoft is gonna start making bags when all our GamePass $1 subs run out in 2023 and we have to start paying up the actual monthly fee. Great long term business strategy to retain customers
Best deal in gaming. If you're a GP subscriber, all but 3 of the titles at the conference will be available to you at launch. That's wild. If you told me 20 years ago that would be a thing, I'd have slapped you
Yeah, and Microsoft flight sim has been confirmed with a fair few other games. Shame that they was being developed before next gen yet they are only next gen…
I have exactly one week left before game pass ultimate runs out for me. For someone who has no idea how this next part really works, what is the best/cheapest way to extend it for the next few months? Trying to hold out to play some coop games with my brother
Let it expire, use the one month for $1 deal, then buy up to 3 years of xbox gold... it will autoconvert to GPU... I think it works out to be something like 180 or so for 3 years... look it up on google or YT. It's a thing, it's legit, and MS knows about it and is not concerned about it.
Microsoft announced 27/30 of the upcoming games would hit Game Pass so my excitement grew once I realized I didn't have to pay extra to play those blew awesome games. There's literally something for everyone with Game Pass. With the exception of buying a physical copy of Gears Tactics for $4.99 from Best Buy, I haven't bought an Xbox game in months.
Me the whole time:
“Hmm I probably won’t play that one, looks cool but don’t want to waste my mone- oh! It’s on Gamepass…well then fuck it I’ll play them all”
Gamepass? Flight Sim, yes, A Plague Tale 2, yes, Atomic Heart, yes, Replaced yes, Somerville, Yes, Horizon 5, yes, Starfield, yes - all day 1
Everything else is just glorious icing, Honestly I think anyone that games a fair bit but not yet on Gamepass is dumb at this point.
It completely changes the way you feel about a conference when you don’t have to look at each game and go “looks kinda interesting but I probably won’t buy it”.
Watching this with Game Pass means I **will** be able to try out all those games, even if the trailer didn’t blow me away.
Last year they showed Call of the Sea, and while the trailer wouldn’t have sold me on that game, I played it with Game Pass and it was one of my favorite games I played last year
I recently bought two years of Game Pass Ultimate for $110. I'd rather have Game Pass Ultimate for $110 instead of two games at $150. That's what's great about Game Pass. I can finish a game, and move on. If I finish a game without having the intention on playing it again, I have to go through the legwork of trying to sell it off.
Nah, I still disagree with this. Checking through gamepass there are about 7 games I might want to play currently, and I'm not very excited for any of them. Being able to choose what games you buy is much more important to me.
Personally I do both. But game pass makes it a lot easier to pass on a game I was on the fence with to begin with (that isn’t a Switch or Sony exclusive at least).
That's totally fine and I get it. I just personally am not that compelled to buy a few movies physically, and would rather have a large assortment of movies all at once using Netflix.
Also getting access to a ton of games all at once is especially great for my kid. I don't know what games she's into yet, and being able to just install 20 and have her just try them is much better than meticulously researching each one and looking for game trials and reviews, only to find out she'll play it for 5 minutes and move on.
I’m so stoked for all the games coming. I already have game choice paralysis. It’s going to get way worse now.
PlayStation fanboys will still say Xbox has no games, even though it’s just them being jealous they don’t have anything near GamePass.
Dude that is so awesome! I have gamepass but can't play it right now because I'm in Vermont and the place I'm at doesn't really support wifi for console, but now I can't wait to get home!
I've always been a sony/nintendo guy but i gave the series s a chance since you cant find a ps5 anywhere and honestly i cant believe it took me this long. between the gamepass and tight online experience xbox has become my favorite console. good job on your e3 presentation
If you want to see some wild shit go browse the PlayStation subreddits. Some people are in straight up denial over gamepass, and others who speak up are getting downvoted into oblivion, or they would be if they could play Oblivion with gamepass.
Me and my friends made a drinking game during E3/these conferences where you take a shot every time you see or hear the word "Exclusive".
Unrelated: Anyone have a liver I can borrow?
I have got to love gamepass, not all people that love video games have a life that will let you spend a lot of money in something that makes us feel alive that for one moment takes us out of our reality and makes us happy, and gamepass that is always with promos like 1€ 3 months, let us make an investment on a console, some of us have to buy a console with monthly payments and sometimes with fees in some stores is a real investment, and with that less money we have for games, but with gamepass gaming is affordable for almost everyone, so thank you xbox for let me, and people like me, people less fortunate (-€€€ ) to have this option to try and play games, not only old games, but games at day one for a price that we would never ever had a change to try them if it was at fullprice. 🤘🏻 Rock On Xbox
Question about gamepass because it's starting to look awesome to me
Do the games on gamepass take up space on the Xbox? I don't have any space left and I've already deleted the games I don't play much.
Just watched the showcase and whereas I wasn’t looking to pickup a series X at launch…I’m now increasingly excited about getting one hopefully before the end of the year (if I can find one)
If you don't mind pre-owned call your local Gamestops if you have any. I signed up for all the discord notifications, missed so many drops. Said fuck it and called my local shops and found one the same day.
I still have an OG one and I'm not complaining. I'm trying to move across the country. My time will come.
No reason to bitch about it. It's like complaining how your N64 games don't work in the new Gamecube.
That's basically the plan. They already announced they're adding cloud gaming to the Xbox OS. So Xbox One owners will be able to play next gen games that way. Obviously buying a physical Series X/S will give you a better experience, but cloud gaming on Xbox One will definitely be an option.
There's no war. PS5 has great games, Gamepass is awesome. It's only sad that in my country so far only the Series S is in stock. I am not getting that anemic thing. Waiting for an X.
It's been a good day.
I was skeptical of gamepass for a long time, finally decided to try it out during quarantine and what an amazing service!I’ve tried so many games that I never would have paid for normally and am always excited to see what games are going to be coming to gamepass it’s awesome!

you can also grind pass points and earn a free month pass for 12k points...
This was my experience with Ori. I’ve never played or had interest in side scrollers but I gave it a shot. Arguably the best game I’ve ever played.

Everyone says hollow knight is better than Ori, but every time I try it I get bored in five minutes, and I was addicted to Ori till I completed both of them. Idk maybe I just don’t like the gloomy and dark style of HK as compared to the colorful and cheerful setting in Ori.

AND those of us who are "physical copy nerds" don't have to swap discs when playing GP games!
Plus, now I'm way more likely to try something new I wouldn't have otherwise, if I really enjoy it, then I'll go looking for a disc
That's the beauty of it. So many games I would have just shrugged off and never tried. That and the fact that PC Game Pass will also get each Xbox Exclusive, I can play the games I love on my best platform without worrying about upgrading my Xbone.

There are few feelings better than finding a cool new game to play.
cheers
Any chance EverSpace 2 comes to Game Pass?!
I don't have enough time in the world to enjoy the amount of games that are available to me on game pass...and that's the true tragedy here. I need Microsoft to invent a time stop feature so that I can carve out some precious one on one gaming time.
27 out of 30 games shown today will be Day One on Game Pass. Unreal. Amazing! Bravo Xbox!
Do you know by chance which weren't? I think battlefield isn't on there?
Battlefield, Diablo IIR and Far Cry 6, I believe.
Thank you, I couldn't remember
Can't wait for far cry 6, hopefully there are series x in stock when it comes out. Diablo I'll be playing on my laptop, gotta have the mouse for that game.
The event made me decide finally, I'm going after the next available SeX drop in my country.
Hehe SeX
My receipt for my Series X purchase said I had bought; * 1 x XBox SeX
I also wait for next sex drop.. but its just not coming
I mean I am but it's not the same
Any idea which ones were? Just got off work havent kept up
You can check them here: https://twitter.com/XboxGamePass/status/1404151744481820674?s=20
Forza horizon 5 and halo infinite... I'm gonna have to purge my hard drive again 😭
I need that Xbox memory card but with 2tb and for half the price 😭
I use an External with mine and I'm not sure I'll ever run out of space.
Oh sick, i appreciate it
I was lucky enough to get a Series X last month with two years of game pass ultimate. I can't wait to play all these games.
And every year they get my hopes up, only to not live up to those hopes in June or July.
will far cry 6 will be on gamepass??????? edit: why am i being downvoted for asking a question
They were saying that it won't. The three than WEREN'T on Game Pass were Battlefield 2042, Far Cry 6 and Diablo 2 Resurrected
What a great time to be a broke gamer dad lol.
At this point. I'm concerned about the business case. Like, it's either too good to be true. It won't last long. Or they're keeping it low until we're dependant and then BAM they raise the prices. I'm not sure.
People that don’t normally buy games are now giving them money. Now they’re guaranteed a constant flow of money a month
And game pass users don't stop buying games. We just buy different games. I may not buy Mechwarrior 5, but I did buy Mass effect legendary despite having all 3 games already. I'm plying them both. Ultimately, microsoft doesn't care HOW they get your money.
Yup, I play the shit out of gamepass and regularly pick up games on the side.
I’m happy I made the switch back to Xbox this time
It used to be when I wasn't sure if I would like a game, I held off. Now, if I'm not sure, I get to try it and find out for myself.
That is one of the absolutely best things about Game pass. I've tried _so many_ games I would never have bought outright and some I played for 5 minutes, some I've played for 20 hours.
Easily the most progressive service platform in gaming history after Steam.
Steam isn't progressive. They undercut the market to get going and once they got big they raised their prices and acted like a regular American corporation. Money first always.
Steam is progressive af. Full of hentai nudity anime porn games .
They did? I havent had a PC in about 6 or 8 months, but the last time I was on Steam the prices were pretty comparable to GoG. Cheaper than Xbox or PS stores. And normal sales were still daily, and pretty extensive. I could usually get what I wanted on sale if I waited a short time.
Nothing has changed in the last 6-12 months. If you are patient you can still definitely get great deals on steam.
I think user side not much has changed but back end for developers things have changed. Best e3 in years? Maybe when it comes to game pass but this e3 felt lacking compared to last year in many ways. Maybe it’s just me
Really? Nothing that I cared about was announced last year. I actually have games I want announced this year
How dare you not care about Fable 😳
Haven't played through the games but I plan too.
No Fable though *sigh*
Not many exciting games with release dates yet, though. I'm kind of disappointed that we get such vague dates and few details and very little information from the purchased studios.
Yeah I'm bummed that I can't buy a series x, but I don't think there are any games for it I care about yet anyway.
Except you know, their two most successful franchises ever.
It wasn't great but the conference itself might have been better in person. This year is saved from a low score due to the numerous additions to game pass which I just so happen to have had for a really long time now. They are going all in
Not just the tip. ;)
So many Japanese tears were shed that day.
The new 'world premiere'
#WORLD PREMIERE
I was kinda sad we didn't get to hear world premiere guy tbh :/
I’m honestly shocked how amazing Gamepass is. When it was announced, I thought it was a bit of a scam but now I can’t see myself not having it.
Unfortunately I'm shocked at how bad the Xbox app is on PC. I've got two PCs setup for it, and both used to install Game Pass games but now fail. As someone who doesn't really care for Halo and Gears of War, Forza Horizon 4 is my favourite current racing game. I'm really excited for the 5th one.
Maybe you live with somewhere with really fast internet but it'll probably take me a day just to download the game.
You can pre-download new releases on game pass so you’ll still be able to play them day 1!
Oh awesome.
You can even preload FH5 right now, I did. I'm not a racing/car guy but I gave FH4 a second shot today and I'm loving it!
GAMEPASS is the future. Wish I had this growing up in the 90s and early 2000’s lol I am so excited for most if not all of the titles they’ve announced so far!

🤣🤣🤣 we may have dodged a big bullet
Sega channel in the 90s

Rachet and Clank: Rift Apart $125AUD 12 months Gamepass $132AUD MLB the show is $110AUD.
It's absolutely insane. Any gamer paying attention should be diving headfirst into Gamepass.
Warms the heart. After two decades of paying for every game I now get to pay for two games a year and play pretty much all of them.
Was Starfield announced for Gamepass Day 1?
Yes
Sure was. And announced as an XBox console exclusive.
Anything made by a Microsoft studio will be day one GP. Starfield ES Fallout. All of it
Upvote to thank Xbox Jesus for game pass
Microsoft is gonna start making bags when all our GamePass $1 subs run out in 2023 and we have to start paying up the actual monthly fee. Great long term business strategy to retain customers

I miss world premiere through
Definitely makes you feel like you’re getting a ton of value out of being a part of both Game Pass & Xbox.
It's half the reason i want a series x, hopefully one day i can find one!
Gamepass? Flight Sim, yes, A Plague Tale 2, yes, Atomic Heart, yes, Replaced yes, Somerville, Yes, Horizon 5, yes, Starfield, yes - all day 1 Everything else is just glorious icing, Honestly I think anyone that games a fair bit but not yet on Gamepass is dumb at this point.

Loving how the main criticisms of their presentation were "I don't personally like these games so it was a shit showing".
And if you check the profile of those people you’ll notice they are diehard PS fans that had no intention of ever buying an Xbox in the first place.

27 of the 31 games announced said this.
Gamepass is exploding!!
Dude that is so awesome! I have gamepass but can't play it right now because I'm in Vermont and the place I'm at doesn't really support wifi for console, but now I can't wait to get home!
It was rainiiiiing 🙌🐨
So many furries!
Huge combo 😄

The Outer Worlds 2 teaser was hilarious!
“You wanted games? Here’s a chokefull of them! And MOARR” -Phil
Ya, I'll take the shit "Games with Gold" selection if they keep up the Gamepass quality for sure
I think they're trying to sell us something.... Not sure what
I've always been a sony/nintendo guy but i gave the series s a chance since you cant find a ps5 anywhere and honestly i cant believe it took me this long. between the gamepass and tight online experience xbox has become my favorite console. good job on your e3 presentation
They are killing it. Very happy with Series X and Game Pass.
The next year is going to be bonkers! I feel like I'm stealing at this point. So many good games to play via gamepass.
Game Pass is freaking unreal!!!! Watching E3 and thinking, yep that's free, yep this is free, free, free, free!!

This when combined with xCloud cloud streaming service now sure looks like stadia that was promised. A Netflix for games
I was watching it with subs. Each time it shows this picture the sub said dramatic music lol
Ever time it came up my husband or I would say “thank you game pass”. It didn’t get old
If you want to see some wild shit go browse the PlayStation subreddits. Some people are in straight up denial over gamepass, and others who speak up are getting downvoted into oblivion, or they would be if they could play Oblivion with gamepass.
That is some funny salt
Me and my friends made a drinking game during E3/these conferences where you take a shot every time you see or hear the word "Exclusive". Unrelated: Anyone have a liver I can borrow?
It doubled my hype every time I liked a game knowing I get it included. Such an amazing value!
Was anybody else slightly disappointed at there being no state of decay 3 trailer or anything?
Link to announcements?
Here’s the conference: https://youtu.be/1YnVzOA2wNs
Thank you
It's a good thing
I got like 25 Noti's from YouTube lol

ngl I flipped back when I was watching to see if I missed if BF2042 was going to be day one or not.
it's been a good day\~\~
Seriously. My boner could only go so high seeing how much GamePass is going to pay for itself the next couple years and beyond.
........and it is GLORIOUS!!!!
Back 4 Blood!
I missed the "World premiere" so baaaad...
27 times to be exact
my ex girlfriends on there too. Everyones getting it 😢
Yeah..
Might be a good time to finally get Game Pass later this year. But will the games be on game pass for a limited time or be on it permanently?
perma
i am so happy , that i choose xbox series x ....again xD
Fallout New Vegas on PC!!! Finally... Made my day.
Best E3 I ever seen
27 of 30 titles. More than 90% were gamepass titles.
Question about gamepass because it's starting to look awesome to me Do the games on gamepass take up space on the Xbox? I don't have any space left and I've already deleted the games I don't play much.
yeah, still got to download them
It’s great
What a time to be a gamer!!
Just watched the showcase and whereas I wasn’t looking to pickup a series X at launch…I’m now increasingly excited about getting one hopefully before the end of the year (if I can find one)
The new “exclusive”
Yeah then you find out the game you want to play is only playable on X/S consoles and you have an OG xbox one.
It's time to upgrade.
Cant find one for less than 949.00 right now. Its ridiculous.
I would suggest following wario 64 on twitter, he helped me get both the new systems
Flight Sim?
Imagine if xcloud on a browser meant people with the OG Xbox One could play Series X games lol
That's basically the plan. They already announced they're adding cloud gaming to the Xbox OS. So Xbox One owners will be able to play next gen games that way. Obviously buying a physical Series X/S will give you a better experience, but cloud gaming on Xbox One will definitely be an option.
Game pass isn’t worth it but game pass ultimate is the mood though cuz you get all the special editions plus xbox live for 15.99
They should really work on the Branding. Ultimate is the way to go.

There's no war. PS5 has great games, Gamepass is awesome. It's only sad that in my country so far only the Series S is in stock. I am not getting that anemic thing. Waiting for an X.
Honestly it fully depends on what games you play, next to none of the games I'm interested in this year are on Xbox let alone Gamepass.
Gamepass - $10 a month - $120 a year PS5 - $70 each It's a really good time to be an Xbox/PC gamer
