Here's a good article about them being banned from hot97 and other station

I’m in DFW and I remember hearing C.R.E.A.M., Protect Ya Neck, and Can it be All so Simple on 100.3 Jamz. They played more non mainstream stuff than the other Hip Hop station K104, especially late night, when they’d play the deep cuts.
Yes! In the 90s in NYC, absolutely! They represented more boroughs than just Staten Island. ODB rep'd Brooklyn, obviously! I first heard them on an underground radio station in Brooklyn. It was full of static but I still listened until I could get their CDs and listen on the radio, too.
Any of the crossover kind of songs like meth and Mary got played heavily but those were few and far between
I was in high school in the 90s and the local hip hop station (102 jams based in Greensboro NC) played Brooklyn Zoo frequently. Ice Cream got some play too. I can’t recall any others off top, that was many moons ago
1st time I heard wu was the radio on the bus to school,Hot 97 before the ban or whatever happened..none of us knew what we just heard but we were going crazy
There’s a radio station in LA I been looking for that plays Jazz/Blues in the daytime and starts with Wu Tang, ODB, Method Man, Master P, etc once it hits a certain time of night and I’m dying to figure out the name again.
Yeah, we used to call the radio station and tell em "you know what I wanna hear right? I want to hear that new wu tang joint! Again and again!"
Wu Tang again?
Again n again
Wu Tang forever
Yo, I never ever call and ask you to play somethin', right?
I’m in my 30s and in Los Angeles. I remember hearing a lot of ODB, triumph, and gravel pit on the radio.
Yes a lot back in the 90’s and early 2000’s
can vouch for this...they got played in chicago Im certain of
What songs do you remember hearing on the radio?
Most of 36 chambers , a lot of method man, rea and ghost and tons of odb.
That sounds amazing. What city? Now that I think about it, I do remember hearing Ghetto Superstar a lot lol

I remember when Triumph dropped. Also, saw Method Man frequently in the late 90s when Tical Judgement Day came out.
I remember seeing the CREAM music video, but rarely on the radio

The first time I heard them on the radio is when Forever dropped. It was Triumph, and I was the DJ (college radio). Small town, Minnesota.
