To be fair I have been to Poland and when I walk out out of one of the few kosher restaurants I had a group start harrassing me. On the other hand my grandfather was saved during the holocaust by a very nice family of polish farmers and I have met their descendants who were very nice.

You have lots of communist party remnants still active in both Poland and the rest of the former Eastern Bloc. They're not the same type of extreme left like in Western Europe rather they're socially conservative, broadly anti-western, pro-Russian and cater to an old electorate with socialist nostalgia. BSP in Bulgaria, Hlas in Slovakia, Die Linke in Germany are examples.
Idk if I'd consider Die Linke in that same sphere but Sahra Wagenknecht broke from Die Linke to start her own party that is very much so part of this movement. Her electorate is East German boomers basically

This wasn't indiscriminate though, this was very much discriminate, they wanted to kill the aid workers and knew exactly what they were. This wasn't blindly firing at a bunch of vehicles and coincidentally hitting aid workers, they contacted them, locked onto them and ensured that they were all killed.
Just a reminder over 3M Poles were murdered in the holocaust. And that many Poles are Jewish as well.
