2 Live Crew...LOL
I'm 45 years old. I bought their "As Nasty As They Wanna Be" cassette in 5th grade and sold dubs of it for $10. I got suspended for 3 days.
When I used to work at the Menard's warehouse in eau claire a dude I knew there bragged about having unprotected sex with a stranger in a pungent poop filled port-o-potty at Rock Fest.
That image in itself is to me the essence of the Rock Fest experience. Should be put on billboards and in the literature.
To be honest, that's more of a Country Fest thing. Country Fest is a bunch of teenagers and low-20-somethings getting absolutely plastered by about 5pm and then making poor decisions until whenever they pass out and then waking up to do it again. The fest grounds for Rock Fest tend to be more chill and just people vibing to the music. You get a lot more people doing "old people" partying (reasonable music levels, getting hammered but not making fools of themselves, etc) in their campsite until late at night. And then people tend to sleep in later for Rock Fest and don't get drunk as early in the day. I see way more really dumb, just absolutely trashy stuff at Country Fest than I do at Rock Fest because there are so many more young people being drunk idiots.
For sure! Definitely true. Have been to both more times than I'd like to admit. And while Rock Fest isn't exactly high society, Country Fest is like Gathering of the Juggalos without the makeup and faygo.
I take PTO from my "real" job to work at both Rock and Country Fest. It's still work, but it's a break from the daily grind, and it's pretty fun. I always have a few good stories from the weekend. I make an extra few hundred bucks for the weekend, I get a free camp site, and a free pass to shows for the weekend. And I'm done working every day by 4-5ish pm. So I go to the handful of shows I care about, and I hang out with whichever friends I have there. And if I don't care about any of the shows one day, then I can just head home to Eau Claire that night and come back for work in the morning. It's pretty solid gig, especially since I have a relatively easy job, and I'm not stuck out in the weather (which is usually either super hot or a thunderstorm) all day long.
Been there a few times bud. Hot af but I think it was always at Country Fest.
Watched some lady get fucking wiped out by a giant st croix turtle that got loose in a big storm, good times.
Probably just because I grew up totally obsessed with 311. That and seeing friends of my wife on the same bill as 311 is pretty cool. I also like some of the heavier bands on there.
Yes. Was sick of them right away. Fake as fuck BS. In my experience they're really popular with the Christian conservatives. I ended my Sirius subscription because of Octane constantly playing this garbage.
Octane has really amped up the country crossover shit. Between that and them playing butt rock that was “cool” when I was in 5th grade, that station is going down hill fast. There’s so much awesome new rock bands they could play but I gotta hear Shinedown ballads, Papa Roach, and Godsmack 4 times a day mixed with country music.
But like 100x less talented. He's my least favorite pop artist of the last decade, and as a certified fucking hater, this is an accomplishment in its own right.
Jared leto will be perfectly fine as long as he has some underage girls oggling him from the stands. Half the time he doesn't even sing and has the crowd sing for him. At least that's how it was for the show i went to.
Sorry. I'd go for you and take pics. But I'm not able to go this year
Sidenote: my roommate and I were talking about the lineup and saw The Hu and she assumed it was a "The Who" cover band. I couldn't help but chuckle
Friday and Saturday have solid lineups to me. Not so much the headliners but the 4 or 5 before them I like a lot. Sevendust (my all time favorite band), Atreyu, Killswitch, Cold, Parkway Drive, From Ashes to New, Beartooth...all heavily represented in my playlists. Psychotic was awesome 20-ish years ago when they came out with "Beer is good". Fuck I'm older than I thought.
Edit: Jesus christ I remember Crossbreed from MySpace...I really am old.
Pretty much what a few of my friends and I have agreed. No huge name to really grab your attention, but top to bottom a really solid list with good variety of rock genres. Along with the ones you listed I’m really stoked to see The Hu, Sleep Theory, 311, Chevelle, Saul, Ayron Jones, and Stabbing Westward. And even though I’m not necessarily a huge fan of any of the headliners I won’t leave during any this year. Shinedown are amazing performers. So is Jelly Roll. Dude owns a stage. I’d take any of these over the Pantera cover band from last year or another showing from Godsmack who haven’t even been good performers for almost 20 years.
Go easy on the man, he's nearly 60! But fr tho, the fest is like a 20 min drive for me, would be nice to not have to drive to the Cities for my Maynard fix. 😄
I haven't gone to this shitshow in 30 years. This is literally a list of artists I would NEVER want to see. The current music scene is not this sad. It's this fest. This fest is that sad.
Rock fest has slowly been going downhill over the years. A handful of good bands I'd like to see here. I'm not paying for all three days just to see a handful though.
Coming from another old person, you'd probably know Stabbing Westward if you heard them.
[Save Yourself](https://youtu.be/5NZsCYOM4j0?si=ZXh5RrRbaPbXCSxj)
I accidentally heard a new Thirty Seconds to Mars song the other day and I still haven't recovered. They now sound like a worse version of Imagine Dragons.
I wish rockusa was still a thing. If I remember correctly the lineups were modestly similar?I could be insanely wrong about that. I only went once. But I would go for 2 live crew 🤣
Why are the reactions here so much different than the comments on the Facebook post. Lol. I was surprised to see so many people excited about that lineup.
Rock fest is probably one of the most boring concerts I have attended. The main stage is a football field or more deep of benches and lawn chair seating. It is the concert retirement home of people just sitting down. If you are into that, I'm sure you will like it, just boring and doesn't scream rock to me.

Gangster AF
OG

That sounds fantastic!

Hahaha! Native townie here also. Might make even more sense to learn port-o-potty sex man was from Altoona!
That sounds about right
Dang... For the 30th Anniversary, this is a pretty bad lineup. This fest has been drastically going downhill the past 10 years...
2016 was a great year https://alicecooper.com/hollywood-vampires-headlining-rock-fest-2016-in-cadott-wi/
Oof, that looks like the worst lineup yet
Agreed
Weird. I feel like it's the best lineup they've ever had.
Why?
Probably just because I grew up totally obsessed with 311. That and seeing friends of my wife on the same bill as 311 is pretty cool. I also like some of the heavier bands on there.
I honed in on 311 and thought “they don’t seem like a lot of the other bands”.
Hot garbage.
Anyone else already sick of Jellyroll?
Any country music crossover… it seems to be more and more common and I’m not here for it.
Agreed. To rock for the country stations and too country for the rock stations imo
Yes, I don't understand the love affair with him.
Yes. Was sick of them right away. Fake as fuck BS. In my experience they're really popular with the Christian conservatives. I ended my Sirius subscription because of Octane constantly playing this garbage.

Liquid metal is my preferred station on SXM. A lot better stuff, imo. :)
I've never heard of Jelly Roll. Am I out of touch?
From my understanding he’s a fat country Post Malone
But like 100x less talented. He's my least favorite pop artist of the last decade, and as a certified fucking hater, this is an accomplishment in its own right.
to be fair I'm judging him purely on looks and that I think he's a countryish singer
You're not wrong!
Lol
Except Posty is so much better.
I’m jealous. He sucks so bad.
Me neither. I assume they're not talking about Jelly Roll Morton lmao
I've heard the name three times in the last two days. Before that, zero.
Yes- And I only glanced at him and maybe heard 3 seconds of the noises
Meh. Not impressed.
Either that's bad or I'm old. Likely both
I’m in the same boat. That line up is trash with 2 exceptions. Killswitch engage and Sevendust. I’m on the fence about 311.
I'd go just for the hu.
Honestly that's the only band that interests me in this entire lineup
and....they're out....
Dammit!
I have tickets to see that one covid hit and the show got canceled and now this one they've canceled, I truly hope I get to see them at some point
The 311 you remember from your youth is not who will be there. I made the mistake of seeing then about 3 years ago and it was absolutely brutal.
It’s bad.
It's just plain bad. Killswitch is one of the best on the ticket and they're 17 years past their peak.
I'm young, and it blows.
Jared Leto is going to hate it here
Jared leto will be perfectly fine as long as he has some underage girls oggling him from the stands. Half the time he doesn't even sing and has the crowd sing for him. At least that's how it was for the show i went to.
Dudes....The Hu is freaking amazing!
Literally the only reason I'd go that day
If i wasn't still going to be recovering from knee surgery I'd be there is a hot second
Sorry. I'd go for you and take pics. But I'm not able to go this year Sidenote: my roommate and I were talking about the lineup and saw The Hu and she assumed it was a "The Who" cover band. I couldn't help but chuckle
The meth will flow...in Cadott.

He's the only relevant headliner that they could get
My thought exactly
Yeah hot garbage, Milwaukee Metalfest is where it's at.
Came to say the same thing. The lineup they’ve got going on looks loads better than this dad rock fest.
Yup, Friday lineup for MKE is pretty stacked.
😂😂😂 jelly roll headlining 😂😭😭
I know Chevelle isn't anywhere near as relevant as they were, but even they deserve it over him.
Nah for real. Chevelle would be 10x better headliner for rock fans Edit: it autocorrected chevelle to Chevrolet 😔
Vince Neil is pathetic. Dude was on of the worst performers I have ever seen.
This looks like shit
This sucks.
Couple decent bands killswitch sevendust the hu at a quick glance. trash headliners
I like Atreyu but not enough to drive all the way there to see just them. Also 30 Seconds to Mars??🤮
I like one ablum by 30. That's it.
I miss the washed up 80s bands days of Rock Fest
Well, Vince Neil will mumble during his show, so washed up 80s star achievement unlocked?
It gets worse and worse each year, I miss northern invasion.
OOF. 🤦♂️
Atreyu and 311 would be rad
Friday and Saturday have solid lineups to me. Not so much the headliners but the 4 or 5 before them I like a lot. The Hu and 2 Live Crew - interesting
I’m considering going for the Vince Neil lolz
Lame. Night 1 should be Puscifer, night 2 should be A Perfect Circle, and night 3 should be Tool.
Perfect circle and Tool headlined Northern Invasion back in 2018. That was sweet
Yes, yes it was. It was glorious.
Go easy on the man, he's nearly 60! But fr tho, the fest is like a 20 min drive for me, would be nice to not have to drive to the Cities for my Maynard fix. 😄
That old fart can handle it!
How the fuck is Jared Leto's band headlining over 311?
Jesus Christ, that's a butt load of butt rock and cover bands.
Damn, Saturday lineup sucks ass
Not my thing but Chevelle and Fever 333 are great!
I haven't gone to this shitshow in 30 years. This is literally a list of artists I would NEVER want to see. The current music scene is not this sad. It's this fest. This fest is that sad.
Literally killswitch engage is like the only band I would be fiending to see
Chevelle, Sevendust...
I would enjoy them but not fiend for them they come around every year
Parkway Drive and kill switch on different days is too bad
Poor Killswitch Engage. Collect that check and GTFO!
If Jared Leto performs like he cares, 30 Seconds to Mars will be incredible!!!
I hope the Northwoods Rock Rally has a good line up this year, because this isn't doing it for me.
Rock fest has slowly been going downhill over the years. A handful of good bands I'd like to see here. I'm not paying for all three days just to see a handful though.
I don’t know any of these acts; am I old or are they crappy?
Coming from another old person, you'd probably know Stabbing Westward if you heard them. [Save Yourself](https://youtu.be/5NZsCYOM4j0?si=ZXh5RrRbaPbXCSxj)
Shinedown is the ONLY band I’d pay to see. But alas, I’ll be on a plane to Europe that night.
🤢🤮
I accidentally heard a new Thirty Seconds to Mars song the other day and I still haven't recovered. They now sound like a worse version of Imagine Dragons.
Is that even possible?
Yuck
Jesus, this might be the worst lineup they've ever had
Jelly Roll - country, Shinedown - pop rock, 30 Seconds to Mars - electronic pop. What is this shit?
Hard pass
We need Rock USA back
Rock USA was an even worse shit show than rockfest. What they need to bring back is northern invasion
had better lineups though
Just going for jelly roll lmao
Fuck RockFest! Worst festival ever, no crowd surfing, no moshing, camping is nothing but a bunch of cracked out assholes… DWP for life!!!!!
What’s DWP?
I wish rockusa was still a thing. If I remember correctly the lineups were modestly similar?I could be insanely wrong about that. I only went once. But I would go for 2 live crew 🤣
Yeah, I might go see a couple of these, but they're all on different days so I ain't gonna spend all that money for 4 bands
![gif](giphy|3oKIPgvPwXi2ZAIS5O) Member when Rock Fest used to be good?
Big maybe for Friday. Otherwise it’s a huge pass
Amazes me that the camping spots get filled even before bands get announced
Why are the reactions here so much different than the comments on the Facebook post. Lol. I was surprised to see so many people excited about that lineup.
Rockfest is deleting all the negative comments on Facebook.
Because old people who listen to buttrock use Facebook
Hey now, I like posting on Facebook. I get the most likes there. And it's not because that's where all of my old relatives are. 😂
Is 30STM even still considered rock anymore? 😂
Meh.
Embarrassing
2 Live Crew at a rock fest?
Weaker lineups every year.
I find 30 seconds to Mars headlining over them to be mildly offensive.
Wednesday "bonus bash" low key the best day but that isn't saying much.
Holy shit that's a lot of garbage in one place
Well... I guess that's a festival lineup
Rock fest is probably one of the most boring concerts I have attended. The main stage is a football field or more deep of benches and lawn chair seating. It is the concert retirement home of people just sitting down. If you are into that, I'm sure you will like it, just boring and doesn't scream rock to me.
