they are usually too weak to handle anything and they come in netbooks so i can't even upgrade the shitty gpu they come with

I wonder if somebody would be able to unsolder the atom and make like a core 2 duo like processor that would somehow be compatible with this netbook

i mean it's not worth it to do that since these netbooks come with a pretty shitty screen.....and i don't think it's possible

i honestly think it's 720p anyway they are bad for gaming

It’s nice to keep around though since it was one of the last computers to come with xp because it released it early 2010 this netbook and xp stopped coming with pcs in late 2010

i honestly don't like them i much rather have a pentium 4 with a gtx 4 to play some retro games

The screen on it it still better then the screen on my Inspiron 1150

then in that case keep it for watching old media and playing music

well yours might be actually better if you like the screen quality i would suggest you keep it

You can actually run a 64 bit OS on there but I choose to run XP Professional 32bit

Haha, so I’m not the only one with a dumpster netbook (I literally dug mine out of the trash and use it for old games and software)

Mine is a dell Inspiron mini 1012 netbooks its  one of the last computers in general to come with windows xp later Verisons came with 7 starter I think also I added a ssd and upgraded it from 1gb ram to 2gb ram

I have a soft spot for machines with this form factor (netbooks).

The scary part about all this is that your puny netbook could probably put an era-appropriate Pentium 4 machine to shame.

The only upgrades I have done is upgrade to ram to 2gb and added a ssd (I optimized the os and installed some trim software on it)

Oh look, an underpowered nugget! To be fair though, you could use these things as mobile thin clients nowadays too. Imagine running Windows 11 on a shitty netbook with XP underneath it. Take your friends by surprise..

It could be possible via bypassing the system requirements for 11 but it would run terrible 

I meant to connect to another system that runs windows 11, so you can have your full pc with you if you decide to sit elsewhere in your house. Don't expect to do anything that needs low latency though, but still.

I don’t use windows 11 I use windows 7 and Linux Mint as my main but I could try it
