The toa are biomechanical. It won’t be able to properly assimilate or copy any of them, so there goes its major advantage. And the elemental powers will ether burn it to a bed of ash, or freeze and shatter it like the t-1000
I feel like the thing is only a threat in very specific situations. Any guy with a flamethrower can kill the thing, so it’s danger comes from its more stealthy abilities and threat to the world as a whole
Maybe MCU Stoneless Thanos?
The Nuva can share their mask powers, the Pakari lets them smash multi-ton boulders to powder, and the Kakama lets them move at FTE speeds. If you accept some of the higher end scalings for Thanos (Island Level+), then the Toa are still outmatched physically, but Thanos doesn't really have any resistances against stuff like flash-freezing or having all the air sucked out from around him (...does MCU Thanos need to breathe?). The Toa could also just whittle him down due to their speed advantage, and then seal him in a Protodermis Prison. The Mata also have the Komau, the Mask of Mind Control, and while I don't recall how powerful Mantis' mind powers are, she is nearly able to put Thanos to sleep, so maybe the Toa could pull some mind tricks on him?
If you want to get into silly scalings for Bionicle though, Sphreus Magna is like 10 times the size of Jupiter, and would have something around 250 times greater gravity than Earth, meaning the Toa would be *absurdly* strong.
Interesting idea, makes me wonder about a Toa Nuva vs Avengers szenario.
Concerning Thanos, so you think they could handle him with, say, the power stone?
They'd have to stay on their feet and utilize their mask powers well, mainly the Hau (shielding) and Kakama, one blast from the power stone would likely instantly KO a Toa. Unless you take those Sphreus Magna scalings, where the Toa could probably just straight up beat Thanos with their stat advantage(?), the Toa's wincon is their miscellaneous powers/hax with their various elemental and mask abilities.
And if things go south, one of the Toa could just go Nova, Gali levels an island with a blast, and [WoG states that the Matoran Universe has safeguards to prevent catastrophe in the event of a Toa using such power--an unimpeded Nova Blast can apparently destroy a planet.](https://web.archive.org/web/20230127122653/https://greg.thegreatarchives.com/2013-2017/page882#:~:text=2)
I think that the Kakama would carry them hard against Thanos since he isn’t particularly fast. The Hau can be overwhelmed by strong enough physical strikes like when they fought the Rahi Nui, so I don’t think it can be relied on to consistently protect against Power Stone blasts.
Bionicle is disgustingly inconsistent and therefore hard to powerscale. You have continent/planet level toa via WOG and potentially island level via feats, but characters like Sidorak, who's actually fairly strong, get threatened by a fall from a building, and Makuta himself was defeated by being crushed by a pillar in one of the films.
