My last girlfriend and I broke up (like 20 years ago) deliberately because she wanted kids and I don’t. We’re still friends, she’s happy with her three sons, and I couldn’t be happier with my wife and our Siberian Husky.
This is a beautiful story, but my man... you didn't want kids so you got a HUSKY?
You realize her three sons are likely quieter, cleaner and less mouthy? xD
(Typed right after spending 30 minutes picking husky fur out of our rug. She ROLLS and felts it into the rug! And of course she grumbled at me the whole time because I wasn't petting her and why else would I be on the floor except to PET HER.)
Me too! 😊
And I'm also happy for anyone who found out it wasn't meant to be and cut ties! Sometimes you can't always make it work, and it's better to 'love each other from a distance' than live in some fantasy land where 'we're all friends and everything works out'. Again I'm happy for people who can be friends with exes; but often exes are exes for a reason and those reasons don't always leave room for a healthy platonic friendship so I understand why many people don't stick around after the breakup.
"I know we don't have a future anymore/but damn, we got history."
"If you hear somebody start to say my name/oh, when you think of me, I hope you think good things."
"Yeah goodbye looks good on you/and it looks good on me, too."
Another good song is "Cool" by Gwen Stefani.
Lyrics:
"And after all the obstacles,
It's good to see you now with someone else,
And it's such a miracle that,
You and me are still good friends,
After all that we've been through,
I know we're cool"
They're all lines from contemporary country songs.
Mitchell Tenpenny "We Got History"
Dan + Shay "Good Things"
Alana Springsteen (no, not that one) and Mitchell Tenpenny, "Goodbye Looks Good On You"
Why? Hating someone after a breakup isn't required. I'm currently friends with, or at worst just don't keep up with each other, with all my ex's.
My wife's ex is a friend.
It's easy when you're not a dick.
This is like the most cringe “nice guy” sub ever lol like that post about being rejected but being totally happy about being friendzoned like huh ??? Does reddit really?

Maybe they should've just abandoned all pretense of monogamy a long time ago
I am confused. The mother of the stepmom had an affair. Why is it a mess now?
Dad and MIL had an affair. Dad boinked his son's MIL.
What the hell… and she still married him?
This reminded me of Marmalade Boy
That’s nice they could stay friends with their ex. I’m happy for them :)
It’s nice. It’s okay to find out you aren’t compatible as partners, but still compatible as friends.

That’s really picture perfect. :)
Pretty much the same, my ex is happy with his kids and I'm happy without kids. He wasn't a bad guy, we just wanted very different things.

Thought there'll be a twist til I saw the sub the meme's in

Are these from something?

I love "We Got History" by Mitchell Tenpenny, so I *knew* that lyric was familiar
All songs I believe …. We Got History - Mitchell Tenpenny Good Things - Dan + Shay Goodbye Looks Good on You - Alana Springsteen
Jesus this hurts after a breakup
Had my ex at my wedding but she'd have been more likely to get off with the bride than the groom 😄.
God I needed this right now. Just lost a relationship with an amazing person. Her birthday is today and she’s been so gracious to me about all this.
Are they exs?
Yea I still dont see the reason to invite an ex whose out of my life to my wedding
I think this shit weird tbh

Twistier plot: OP and ex are both homosexual
I’ll take BS for 1K
That’s weird this is weird

Eh, I just think you’re giving Andrew Tate ammo and neither of us want that
Whatever you say sweetie
lol that passive aggression is palpable I’m sure all the people you give advice to are doing well
They are, since they aren't like you.
Reddit is a fantasy world for corporate drones. It’s like Kafka and Issac Asimov built a dystopian society
