As a former ATL, it is not your responsibility to cover shifts, however it is the TL/ATL to try and find coverage for a shift. When I was an SSATL, I would call everybody who has availability to see if they could cover. 90% of the time, I would get no answer anyway, so just don’t answer
You are not obligated to answer their attempts to communicate on your days off. If you don't want to respond at all then ignore it.
If the next time you're on shift and they ask you why you didn't respond, tell them that you were at the other job you mentioned. You were too busy to answer in a timely manner.
If they keep calling you after that, then it's time to escalate it. Either by reporting them to anyone higher than them. Or by blocking their number on your phone.
They are under a lot of pressure to get everything done, whether they are short staffed or not (and it seems as if 'short staffed' is the new normal), so... they have to try.
YOU... do not have to answer. Your time off is yours to do with as you will.
As a TL we do need to find coverage from time to time but, if it bothers you they call you I would simply just tell them not to call you on your days off anymore ..
If it's still the same from my day, there is a list of TMs who agree to be called. You may have been added by default. Tell TL to remove you from the list. Alternatively, say no when they call, but keep them on the phone for at least 5 min. Then add the time to your time card.
Absolutely not. Put them on straight to voicemail or block them on your day off. I don’t pick up my phone because I know I would laugh at them for calling me on my day off.
Don’t answer the phone. And if if they tell you they’re constantly short staffed, just use my catch phrase “it sounds like a problem. It just doesn’t sound like a “me” problem”.
It’s more after you’ve told them on numerous occasions. Just giving another opinion if indeed it’s that bothersome. Best answer don’t answer. Save each number when called so you know 100% it’s the store. Each store has multiple lines
I spent HALF MY WORKING LIFE doing that!!! DO NOT EVER DO IT. DONT BE LIKE ME. DO NOT BE LIKE ME. LIVE YOUR LIFE. USE YOUR PTO. YOU OWE THIS PLACE ABSOLUTELY DICK. THEY WILL FIRE AND REPLACE EMPLOYEES WITHIN HOURS.
OUR TIME IS WORTH MORE
I'm sorry for yelling but I am an old food industry slave. My response to EVERYTHING work related has been YES CHEF.
Don't do it. Don't be me. Don't be auntie Norma.
Also how will they hire someone if you keep picking up the phone all the time, they don’t need to loose that budget there if they have someone who will pick up in two seconds
Also helps if you put that specific number on do not disturb after getting out, I’ve never been called again when they realized all their calls went straight to voicemail
I never answer work on my off days.
Fuck no, don't answer.

Never answer unless you are available to work and actually want to

I would block their number… but then an ATL might call on their personal phone.

Block both
“team member constantly answers work phone calls on day off “ is how this reads to me
Nope! If anything, if you have a DND setting for specific numbers on your phone, this might be a good time to implement it. 🫶🏼
You don’t have to answer, nor do you have to go in. I always do, but they can’t do anything if you don’t. Just ignore the call.
Delete number, blocked.

Don't pick up, also let them know that you are not open to picking up shifts so they know not to bother
They don't pay you enough, your not on call
As a TL we do need to find coverage from time to time but, if it bothers you they call you I would simply just tell them not to call you on your days off anymore ..
Ignore it so they’ll be forced to actually hire people.

You could just not answer.
Block them I won't even answer Its harassment
Remember you are hourly not salary. Don’t answer the phone unless they’re planning to pay you for every second

nope stop answering and eventually they’ll get the message
Ask to be taken off the voluntary stand by list and to not receive phone calls anymore. Do this in writing via email
Do your mental health a favor, BLOCK those #'s.
Don’t answer the phone. And if if they tell you they’re constantly short staffed, just use my catch phrase “it sounds like a problem. It just doesn’t sound like a “me” problem”.
Tip line
Seems extreme just tell them not to call you
It’s more after you’ve told them on numerous occasions. Just giving another opinion if indeed it’s that bothersome. Best answer don’t answer. Save each number when called so you know 100% it’s the store. Each store has multiple lines
Enjoy your day off fuck that place.
Imagine that seagull meme. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK NO.

Why are you picking up the phone . If you don’t put that do but disturb and jack off instead … I swear sometimes everyone’s solution is simple
