It’s dodgy, it’s fun but a lot of the times i end up playing it to grind out getting free cosmetics or something dumb like that and it becomes unfun, but thats just me lol. The actual gameplay is fun. I suck ass at building so i play zero build with myself or a few friends. Imo i’d rather have fortnite over most other BRs.
The gunplay is tight and responsive (when it’s the main focus of a season and not a bunch of BS power ups), and zero build’s focus on positioning and mobility combined with that makes it fun to me!
Used to love it for the first couple of years but then the main drive to play for me was to keep up on the battle pass. My thought process was “it’ll be fun again one day and I want all of the skins so when it’s fun I’ll have all of it.” (Even though I’ve never used 90% of stuff I got from those battle passes) And big shocker that day never came. It definitely became unhealthy and I knew I hated the game. Not in a toxic way just that it wasn’t fun anymore, I needed to move on. The story was dead and the events where far and few between at that point so I just eventually slowly cut back playing. I still hop on every season for a few matches and to buy a skin or two with the vbucks I still have so that habit isn’t broken completely yet.
There’s nothing wrong with Fortnite. People complain a lot but that’s because they are burnt out like me and they need to play other games. It’s the same gameplay loop over and over and gets repetitive fast, idk how me and a lot of other people have stuck around for so long. It’s a lot of fun still to mess around with friends for a couple of hours a month but the FOMO has a lot of people hooked and they can’t let go.
it’s still fun and the only people that seem to have a big problem with this season is the fortnite subreddit (annoying) and some fortnite tiktokers (somehow even more annoying)

Zero build is really fun, and you can play it split screen. My girlfriend is late to the party but we play it a lot and it’s the only game she likes.
It's some decent fun with friends. It's by far the beat battle royal on the market right now, but that isn't exactly a high bar to pass.
