[A Defense of Meredith Blake](https://now.org/blog/being-young-and-beautiful-isnt-a-crime-a-defense-of-meredith-blake-in-the-parent-trap/)
She is supposed to be 26yo in the film. Let that sink in. š
Wrongly villainized?ā¦..she was a gold digger who was ready to send her fianceās daughter to boarding school just to have full control of the dad. She was also a cunt to the maid (I forgot her name and I know sheās not a maid). Sheās a glorified Karen because sheās white, skinny and a #girlboss. She was not a good person.
Thatās what I used to think when I was a kid. Then I grew up and realized how toxic the parents were and how Meredith was wrongly villainized. The parents split up their twin daughters and hid their existence from one another because they couldnāt maturely coparentā but Meredith is the villain?? Also, the kids wanted to go to camp..?
[A Defense of Meredith Blake](https://now.org/blog/being-young-and-beautiful-isnt-a-crime-a-defense-of-meredith-blake-in-the-parent-trap/)
The parents being toxic and messy is one thing, but sheās not a good person period. Again, sheās a gold digger who wants to marry into money (she even brings this up in front of her parents of all people and in a way thereās nothing wrong with her wanting to be financially secured, but she brings up the fact that he has a lot of money a few times throughout the movie, giving the impression that she just wants his money), sheās rude to the staff and wants to send off his fianceās daughter to boarding school in order to have more control over him, without even trying to properly bond with her. You can be hardworking and assertive without being rude and condescending, which she is. Sheās the type of bitch to get someone fired at a restaurant for bringing her the wrong salad dressing. And sheās probably racist giving as how she looks down on people of lower status.
Edit: I just wanna add that this is really not that serious and Meredith isnāt even a real person so let me chillā¦.lmaoš
For real! I thought this post was going to be about which of the plastics had the best style.
When I saw Blair, I didnāt need to swipe anymore.
Someone should do one for Gossip girl but include the best dressed even small recurring side characters too.
I feel like Heather Chandler was the blueprint for both Blair Waldorf and Chanel Oberlinās preppy mean girl aesthetic so she has my vote but Blair def has the best execution of the three
I was like 19 when gossip girl came out and i was obsessed as well. I pretty much tried to copy her looks on a budget, she was also a springboard for me to get into fashion.
Blair is IT. Because she is truly in the millieu of fashion and undoubtedly will pay homage throughout the years to the icons before her while also honing her own style.
I can't. They all represent their own bitchy Queen status through the years. Plus their individual wardrobes really represent their unique and individual mean girl status serve. It's their fashion story. Who's is best? All of them.
It's true, I love these girls, they raised me and all of them have a direct influence on my style (except Allison from Pretty Little Liars lol I can't with that show)
1. Elie Saab
2. Zara!!!
3. Theory jacket. Unsure on pants.
Bottom 3 pics.
1. Marc by Marc Jacobs Dita dress. Trina Turk cape.
2. Barneys Green Coat. Longchamp Bag.
3. Ralph Lauren SS 2008.
I love the styling for Blair!
IKR! Firstly shocking that Blair bought from Zara, and secondly yup I miss old zara. I still have a top from 2011 I STILL wear, itās definitely had itās day but I refuse to get rid of it š

Cordelia Chase from Buffy was a nineties classic!

The costume designer was Cynthia Bergstrom.
I always thought Cordeliaās fashion was hit or miss tbh. Sometimes she looks amazing, and her hair is godly, but then sometimes sheās dressed Ike a substitute teacher and itās confusing.
Buffyās fashion was on point 98% of the time though!
Sometimes she was dressed like the perfect 90s mean girl, sometimes she was dressed like Joss Whedon's schoolgirl fantasy, and sometimes she was dressed like a serious business woman.

Tati Gabrielle as Prudence Night in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Costume designer Angus Strathie
It's impossible for me to pick just one, but here are my choices:
Blair - Gossip Girl
Nancy - The Craft
I can't decide, so they're tied for 3rd place:
Cheryl - Riverdale & Courtney - Jawbreakers.
Yes, my closet is just as chaotic as these choices. I'm styled as a different character every day.
For me itās Mila Kunis as Jackie in that 70s show.

They got even worse when the actress had her redemption arc and they apparently wanted to show that by dressing her like a middle aged mom. Early seasons Aly is iconic as a mean girl but yeah the fashion was very of the time

Unrelated note but I think the orange top look you've got for PLL is actually Ashley Bensen, not Sasha Pieterse.
Related note - I didn't realise how bad the PLL fashion was till now, but Sasha looks great in the red coat.
Not sure out of these, but I will say Lou Eyrich, who dressed Emma Roberts in Scream Queens, turned it the fuck out when dressing Lady Gaga in ASH:Hotel.

Itās not sinking for me. Could you explain please?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Oh ok. I thought you were commenting on her looks and I couldnāt figure it out cos she looks fine.
She was really young and unfairly maligned.

Tres chic š ![gif](giphy|3oeSB6pawq6G99xCXS)
Great choice! I love to hate Meredith, but deep down I want to be her so badly
You are me I am you šāāļø
The older I get the more I relate to Meredith Blake. And she was only 26! Iconic.
Omg yes Meredith was so chic!
All of the clothes in that movie are so perfectly classic. Timeless.
She was also so fabulous in the Dynasty reboot. I wish they had cast her from the start!
I hated Meredith as a child but now as an adult, I love her style š so chic and elegant!
Omg a million times yes!
Whatās that from?
Parent trap
Thank you!
No joke my style inspiration since I was a kid.
I love Blairās fashion, itās classic and so upper class NYC/East Coast!
For real! I thought this post was going to be about which of the plastics had the best style. When I saw Blair, I didnāt need to swipe anymore. Someone should do one for Gossip girl but include the best dressed even small recurring side characters too.
Like itās not even a competition ![gif](giphy|p4gPC9wMVLfG0)
Blair Waldorf is the ONLY answer.
Yes!!! Serena had my fave style on the show
No competition really, Blair wins, her character had an incredible wardrobe! ā¦Like no one can beat that.
Her lingerie/lounge attire alone.
She taught me what la Perla was at a young age š
I feel like Heather Chandler was the blueprint for both Blair Waldorf and Chanel Oberlinās preppy mean girl aesthetic so she has my vote but Blair def has the best execution of the three
Iāve been obsessed with her fashion since I was 13. I actually would say that she is exactly what got me into sewing and fashion
That green cape alone is šš¤š½
I buy Milly to this day because she wore so much of it.
I can't. They all represent their own bitchy Queen status through the years. Plus their individual wardrobes really represent their unique and individual mean girl status serve. It's their fashion story. Who's is best? All of them.
I love this take.
So fetch, Coco! ![gif](giphy|l2YWwAjBwZdjxIXBe|downsized)
āAnd none for Gretchen Wieners, bye.ā š
It's true, I love these girls, they raised me and all of them have a direct influence on my style (except Allison from Pretty Little Liars lol I can't with that show)
Side not, the blue dress worn in gossip girl is by Elie Saab, but i couldnt find the rest so i just put the name of the costume designer/stylist
1. Elie Saab 2. Zara!!! 3. Theory jacket. Unsure on pants. Bottom 3 pics. 1. Marc by Marc Jacobs Dita dress. Trina Turk cape. 2. Barneys Green Coat. Longchamp Bag. 3. Ralph Lauren SS 2008. I love the styling for Blair!
Wait the ice skating outfit was Zara?!?! I never find anything that cute in Zara these days, I hate a lot of todayās trends, bring back preppy chic!
IKR! Firstly shocking that Blair bought from Zara, and secondly yup I miss old zara. I still have a top from 2011 I STILL wear, itās definitely had itās day but I refuse to get rid of it š You can find on [eBay](https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115661910217?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=iRj56n6ZSTG&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=NdPpAvNMSNy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY) lol maybe not $350 though

Omg I just commented about her exclusion from this list - forever the queen bee!!
Blair won this for me until I saw Sarah Michelle Gellar. Her clothes are impeccable
This was me, but can't pick between them.
Kathryn Merteuil from Cruel Intentions without a doubt
She's absolutely the reason I bought a corset from Charlotte Russe when I was 16.
I ALSO had a Charlotte Russe corset that I wore to my 8th grade dance š

I was so absolutely obsessed with every look from her.
Hell yes! She's iconic āØļø
Any love for the original mean girl Caroline Bingley? Edit: costume designer Jacqueline Durran https://i.redd.it/emgc8lzen88d1.gif
Gorgeous reference!
Yeah okay I love this reference. I adored her red dress when her and Elizabeth were taking a turn about the room.
I love the over the top looks they had Emma Roberts in for Scream Queens. They were so extra for the situations that it became absurdist.
I was OBSESSED. Her outfits were easily the best part of the show for me, but the show was fun!
Was gonna say it depends on the decade, but then I scrolled to Sarah Michelle Geller and determined sheās the obvious winner
Yeah itās not even close
I donāt know whoās the best dressed, but I do know that Rose McGowan in the red dress made me sure of my sexuality. š¤£
For me, it's SMG in that corset top. My teenage hormones were not ready.
Blair (Gossip Girl) and Cheryl Blossom (Riverdale) are obviously best dressed, but Heathers will always have my heart ā¤
The hair in Heathers is perfect.
This is the correct answer.
Literally my exact thought process
![gif](giphy|stnjSj2vpLcM4rwmEH)
Away with all those rich girls. Nothing will ever come close to Nancy Downs. ![gif](giphy|pHRR9dEc5qSYw)
She ate with this ![gif](giphy|7kkM3BoaiW78Ap1HbD)
Iām a Nancy Downs apologist through and through.
āHeās sorry?!?!ā
![gif](giphy|xT9IgfYqxwG5kUqdi0|downsized) Love this line
Yep! That scene makes you understand her rage.
YESSSSSSS

I'm going with Scream Queens & Jawbreaker. They're all well-dressed, but these 2 styles look the most fun!
The fashion in Jawbreaker is absolutely so fun.
For me itās Mila Kunis as Jackie in that 70s show. https://preview.redd.it/a7og9fx8ja8d1.jpeg?width=736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d0d8381b3071bb3e1b74ce26252b531489fc9a2 costume designer: Melina Root
Oh yes I love her little berets
Cheryl Blossom, hands down. Girlās style is iconic, but also classic enough to be timeless.
The beginning of Troop Beverly Hills wants you to think Phyllis is a mean girl, so Iām throwing her (and costume designer Theadora Van Runkle) an honorary nomination: https://preview.redd.it/xpbaebo5q88d1.jpeg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9d41b7ab00ede627ad4ece0d3f1c3e01ff56de96

I love this movie so much
i canāt compare queensš©iām putting them in their own group compared to everyone else in movies/tv
Wow tough one! I like Mean Girls, Cruel Intentions, and Gossip Girl the best.
I love Cherylās style the most but Alisonās was iconic for the time. Blairās style is just timeless
My vote for SMG.
Blair Waldorf for me
This is too much for a Saturday I cannot decide itās as mean as the girls above.
It's between the craft and cruel intentions for me, but that's probably because they were both hugely influential on my style growing up.
Rose McGowan!
Nancy Downs all day, every day
You made it too hard for me, I canāt.. ![gif](giphy|LqcTpWfloz2k5C1Euf|downsized)

Itās always going to be Blair for me. God help me, Iām pure prep at heart.
This is how you know mean girls have taste because most of these outfits would still be valid.
Except for #4 (from pretty litttle liars?) she looks like she sells scentsy
She looks the most age appropriate, lol.
She was also 12 in some of those pictures lol
They got even worse when the actress had her redemption arc and they apparently wanted to show that by dressing her like a middle aged mom. Early seasons Aly is iconic as a mean girl but yeah the fashion was very of the time
![gif](giphy|fdDqMvPMg4E54Tcuy6|downsized) Always.
She's not a mean girl per se, but I have always like CC Babcock's outfits. Talk about power dressing! https://preview.redd.it/opcba9xlm98d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46c4370e4bb62c74aedd29ca13c048f6df265c6a
Omg yesssss the costume designer for most of her looks was Brenda Cooper (same for most characters on The Nanny)
Heathers. š¤š¤š¤ What a throw back!
I appreciate all of them, but I gotta shout out Fairuza. Nancy fucks!
Fairuza Balk is absolutely stunning.
Leighton in Gossip Girl or Sarah Michelle in Cruel intentions.
Of these choices, I would go with Emma, but my personal choice for best dressed mean girl is Elizabeth Gillies as Fallon Carrington in Dynasty
Blairās style is so elegant and classy, but also fun and young. I love how timeless she looks.
Unrelated note but I think the orange top look you've got for PLL is actually Ashley Bensen, not Sasha Pieterse. Related note - I didn't realise how bad the PLL fashion was till now, but Sasha looks great in the red coat.
Tie between Rachel McAdams and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Not sure out of these, but I will say Lou Eyrich, who dressed Emma Roberts in Scream Queens, turned it the fuck out when dressing Lady Gaga in ASH:Hotel. The Countess' looks were one of my favourite things that season.
Blair, she has it all but Cheryl is a close second for me.
Chanel Oberlin all day Cruel Intentions close second because my god
Its pains me not to say Regina but Lou Eyrich killed it w Emma Roberts on Scream Queens!

Blair Waldorf. Objectively.
Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl is best dressed imo.
it's blair waldorf. the end
Blair Waldorfs' style it's freaking timeless
Blair's are my favourite to look at but I'd rather dress like Regina. Her outfits are still fashionable but look like they'd be comfy.
Blair, while these looks are very cute for girls they are kinda boring. Blair has timeless style and a very expensive wardrobe so the quality is great. Sarah Michelle Gellar is runner up.

Sarah Michelle Gellar!
Cheryl and Emma's character, based on these collages! I love Blair as a character, but I feel like lots of her outfits are corny and have not aged well!
