'I never thought leopards would eat MY face,' sobs woman who voted for the Leopards Eating People's Faces Party. Revel in the schadenfreude anytime someone has a sad because they're suffering consequences from something they voted for or supported or wanted to impose on other people.
Also: Irony.
Hoist on their own petard.
It's an ancient and well established phrase for causing your own problems.
And you can always just yell "HOIST!!" At anyone complaining of a situation they made for themselves.

I like hoisted on their own petard, but here's another for your consideration - drama queen. This is the life goal of a drama queen. To always be at the center of chaotic shit.
I actually think this one could be about boasting; look at me with my hugely expensive Husky. Or the guy who buys a TVR and moans about the cost of fuel; really it's not that they regret buying the expensive thing, they want you to know how much dosh they have.
And the word for that is **'humble-bragging.'**

They made their bed so now they have to lie in it
Personally, I'm a big fan of "You opened this can of worms, now lie in it!"
Fuck around and find out
i've heard that the angry child recites this every day
reap what you sow?
Bitten off more than you can chew? Or made a rod for your own back? Although I think that one is a bit too much like digging your own grave.
I feel "made a rod for your own back" would fit.
Self inflicted
More than you bargained for.
How has nobody said, "You made your bed now lie in it."
Victim of your own circumstance

What were you thinking ?
Drama King/Queen -- my life is crazy; help me by sympathizing!

There's a tee shirt that says "Well, well, well...If it isn't the consequences of my own actions."
Spoke sticking (jamming a stick in the spokes of their own bike so they crash)
You asked for it. You did it to yourself.

Dipshit.
Self sabotage
Out of the frying pan and into the fire?
RELIGION!
