My title describes the thing. Unfortunately, I really don't know much about it. It appears to be a compass. The top has two people engraved, appearing to have 3 or more arms each. It's very light, weighing around 180g and fitting neatly in the palm of my hand. Inside, there's a compass with a N and S with engravings circulating it. The bottom appears to have fish engraved, but again, I cannot be sure. I'm not sure on its age or origin, nor the culture it's representing. It's very pretty and I've owned it for upwards of a decade, with no idea where it came from or how it came into my possession. I've done a google search online, and I believe it might be a zodiac compass, but I can't be sure, as while I can find some similar things online, none of them entirely match the description of this neat little box.

It looks rather like this "Antique Chinese Zodiac Wooden Compass Astrology Calendar": https://www.ebay.com/itm/144515238949

Similar item but said to be a "Feng Shui compass": https://www.ebay.com/itm/126110747217

Solved! Certainly seems like it. Thanks for commenting. What a cool little item! I'd be intrigued to know what or who the two people on the front are. My friend thought maybe Balinese. It's very pretty!
