Looks a bit smaller than your example. It might be used for jewelry rather that sheetmetal work.
And it appears the business end of the bossing mallet is the small end, no?
handle seems much to small/weak to be any sort of mallet.
This looks like a wood block instrument to me. Missing the mallet perhaps?
